The car they sold was damaged as wife burnt her leg on a bulb on passenger side , also didn't get a good chance to look over it , and have since found out it's been accident damaged b4 we got it which we werent told and the parking sensors don't always work either , wouldn't buy another car from any of their garages and would advise other customers the same , also the warranty they provide covers literally nothing

The only good thing about this place, is the First Response signs on top of the cars they are selling. Because these guys done a very good job to solve a big part of the problems we had with the car and with the manager director of this dealership. This so called RAC warranty that comes with the car, was absolutely useless as well. Does not cover a lot. In February this year, we bought here an Audi A6 Allroad. OK, it was a 55 plate, not new, but you would expect a half decent car for £4000, and in the back of your mind, you think you have a good warranty cover, because it is a RAC dealership, and an extended warranty of 24 months for £500, that does not cover anything at all, with the problems we had with this car, but you think you are ok. The salesman that sold us the car, was a nice chap, done his part of the job as good as he could, but new in the trade, not a clue about cars, but the guy did a reasonable job. We collected the car on the Wednesday, and on the Thursday after, I had to attend a course in Aberdeen, and guess what, Thursday morning at 5.30 I needed a jump start, because the battery was flat. Right from the beginning, when we where driving the car, we had gearbox issues. I contacted the dealership, and he told me to get in touch with RAC, because we had the warranty there. A complete nightmare, because this was not covered in the warranty. I did get in touch with citizens advice, and the finance company to solve this problem. Two diagnostics in two workshops, and a £1700 quote to fix the car, and this was not covered. I did manage to get it fixed for £187, including the part, and did pay for that one. But when it was on the ramp for fixing the gearbox issue, the mechanic made me aware of a serious leak from the steering rack. Again phone, again the way with RAC, and again a nono cover wise. So the car went back to the dealership, thanks to a very good job of First Response, the finance company. For some reason, it is very hard for Deryck, to keep his staff. His wife, is not an example for being costumer friendly. The manager director himself a complete useless person, that tries to talk down people, and thinks he gets away selling cars with an RAC sign on top of the cars, with a absolute useless warranty. He has a good selection of cars, I must admit, for reasonable prices, but as soon as there is an issue, the first thing that comes out of his mouth is, phone RAC. He is not even bothered to try to fix things in his own workshop. People that buy a car in this place, without problems, will say the place is ok to buy. What I am saying is, be carefull and be aware. This place has a very bad reputation here in the Broxburn area. I only did found this out too late. From now on, I check out reviews about dealers, before I go in and buy a car. We did end up with loads of frustration, over a week no car, costs for taxi's, cancellation fee of the insurance, and not the joy people should have, when you buy a car. People, be aware of this dealership. For me, NEVER AGAIN.

Looked at a peugot 207 put down a £300 deposit bought the car for 2300 had it one day broke down would not start again took it back they checked it, I demanded all my money back and they kept £300 and made me sign a document or i wouldnt have got any money back. 2 month later they sold the car to a woman who contacted me says she had bought the car after me and they would not give her the money back either, very dodgy company to buy from.
I purchased a Hyundai Santa Fe (2009) 4X4 on Thursday from their Broxburn office. On the Sunday I was on a very icy road I discovered the back wheels were not rotating as they would in a 4x4 drivetrain. I have since confirmed this with the manual, which says the 4X4 version of this car will have a symbol that will illuminate when you start the engine. Before I laid down the deposit for this vehicle I make it clear to Val that being 4x4 was the most important feature of any vehicle I was buying as I am frequently up hills in the Highlands. Val, my first point of contact consulted her line manager who said it was a 4X4 - that if there was no button to turn on that feature then it was automatic. After making payment for the car I was handed the paperwork and I saw on the paperwork it said 2WD, I again queried this and you also assured me it was a 4X4 - I even believe the mechanic who put the car through it’s MOT said it was a 4X4. On their website it says ‘All vehicles are extensively road tested, evaluated and appraised during the preparation process.’ Definitely not the case! When I tried to return the car three days after purchase I called and I was still being told it was a 4x4. When I drove the car in on Monday I was kept waiting 40 minutes and finally I was able to return it. Derek said he was sorry, but I expect they're just sorry to see it back there....No compensation for inconvenience, the tank of fuel, the road tax or the insurance- but I'll be taking them to the small claims court in due course.

My husband bought a car from Broxburn Motorzone a week ago . He went to pick it up on a Saturday and was told the car was due its mot in November but if he wanted to wait a couple of day they would give it a mot there and then . My husband agreed to this so went and picked the car up two days later after being told the car was fine. A couple of days later the car started to make a grinding noise every time the steering wheel was turned . We then phoned the garage who said no one would be able to look at it over the weekend so my husband took it to another garage to get some advice . Here we were told that there was a crack in the steering pump and all the fluid had leaked out. The garage told my husband there was no way the car would pass an mot with this problem and that it was an on going problem not one that had just happened. This job is going to cost £300 to fix if Broxburn won't look at it.
I was silly I know and didn't read any reviews about broxburn motorzone before buying from them. That was a mistake. The car I got is kind of one I have been looking for so I didn't think much of reading reviews as the company seemed reputable enough. I was very wrong. It took almost 2 weeks for me to get my car from them after I purchased it. And the one thing I asked them to look at was the passenger side electronic window. Less than a week after I had actually received my car with me calling and chasing them about it and always getting the "we will call you back", which never came, the window fell into the door. Thankfully I wasn't going any great speed at the time. I called them right away and after much debate with the younger sounding woman I was put through to the mechanic. He really couldn't have given the slightest care. He was very busy couldn't fit my car in til a full week later. Just told me to tape it shut. I didn't feel sare ferrying my elderly gran about in a car with a defective window so tookeep it to a local garage who fixed the problem. I want nothing more to do with this company. The staff are rude and unhelpful. They clearly do not know what good customer service is or even care in the slightest about a happy customer. I will tell everyone to avoid them like the plague.

Very true bought a car took £200 for a years warranty wouldn't fix a thing told me to go through insurance. Cowboys!!!!!
Bad experience with Broxburn Motorzone. I bought a Peugeot which I found on Auto Trader back in June and since then I have had the car for 6 days. The car has had issues since then and it has taken them 10 weeks to find the cause of the issue and then there were complications with getting the parts needed. Initially, Peugeot said that the part was impossible to get due to it being discontinues which turned out to be false. The dealership now have the correct part and I am hoping to have the car back in the next few days. This has all been a huge inconvenience as the dealership is a four hour journey from where I live and has taken far too long. I would not recommend this dealership.

Thanks for the review, and to everyone else. Sites like these help consumers avoid dodgy garages like this one clearly is. I was considering looking at cars there but will now avoid like the plague. The reviews are very revealing, loads of bad reviews with an occasional gushing and glowing good one, obviously planted by the dealer. The reply from MZ claiming a customer had bought an identical car from another dealer and was confusing it with the one he bought from them was hilarious.
This is a 100% honest review. Brace yourself as its a long one! We bought our car the end of May 2016,after a few days we noticed a very loud squeaking noise coming from the front of the car and after speaking with our friend who is a mechanic he said it sounded as though the suspension had been sprayed with WD40 for a quick fix but what it actually needed was white grease as the WD40 would only last so long, so that was no big deal and we were just going to go to him to get it fixed but after a week the engine management light came on, so i called and spoke to a woman called Leeann and she was so rude it was unbelievable, Never have i ever dealt with anyone from a business like her! I have since learned she is actually the owners wife and i think that is why she can speak to anyone however she wants as shes hardly going to lose her job, anyway, we were told to come up and they would put it on the diagnostics machine, after that Deryk (the owner) said they would clear the diagnostics machine so that when the engine management light came back on they could get a clear test, Deryk also assured me that even if it came on after the first 30 days that we were covered for it would still be fixed. I will be honest we were very anxious about that especially after reading the reviews on here that very night, however, the light came on after the 30 days and when i emailed Deryk to let him know he said that was no problem and to bring it back up to be put on the diagnostics machine again, so this was done and the problem was recognized and it was also pointed out that i needed new suspension arms after querying the squeaking noise. Due to certain life commitments i did ask for a courtesy car and was told that i would have to wait on one coming in and they would call me in a few days, one week later and no phone call came. So just over a week later i was driving along and a woman behind me got out of her car and told me that my exhaust had fell off, so i had to go back and collect my exhaust, this happening along with the fact i had not heard back from the garage was the last straw so i took the car along with the exhaust back up to Deryk where i was greeted with the very pleaseant (NOT!) Lee! i told him i would like to speak to Deryk as i have had numerous problems with the car and only had it just over a month, Lee informed me that Deryk was in an interview and would be an hour so i would have to call in the morning, i told lee i was happy to wait and this did not go down well, he then told me that Deryk would be finishing when the interview was over implying that he would just ignore the fact i was there with this pretty big problem and drive away in his car. Never have i ever heard of an owner of a company having set finishing times. Anyway after a bit of back and forth i was then informed that Lee would be finishing soon and locking up and basically if i didn't leave he would in his exact words "just turn the alarm on and lock the door and leave me in there for the night" I actually think even after he said that he began to recognize how absolutely stupid he sounded and tried to retrace his steps. He went away and seen Deryk who told him to take us out of the main office and put us in a manky portakabin away to the side as he had customers coming in and there was no room for us to sit in there and wait. I will add this portakabin was seminally Deryks office, even though there was boxes being stored in it, a manky microwave and kettle, no computer for him to do his paperwork, no phone and old paperwork that dated 2014 sitting on the desk so i really doubt it was his office and i believe this is where the pissed off customers get put in case the other potential customers get wind of what an absolute shambles the business is and it puts them off. So after over an hours wait Deryk finally arrived, we also notified him that the other exhaust was being held on by putty and a bracket so no doubt would fall off sometime soon also, i did say i wanted a refund as this was now my forth visit to them on regards of my crappy car i was sold but Deryk said that the car would be completely fixed for free and low and behold there were two courtesy cars available and i was next on the list to be called in to get my car fixed, what are the chances! Now don't get me wrong, it is an older car and things happen with cars which is understandable but to give you an idea of the car that was sold to me by telling you what was "fixed", we needed two new suspension arms and the rest stripped down and greased, a new intake pipe, a new outtake pipe, and the exhaust re welded on. If that had been the end of it this review would have been entirely different as give them their due they did fix the problems that we discussed BUT on my first initial visit i mentioned that sometimes the brakes would make a grinding noise, not all the time and not when i was doing a great speed, even sometimes happening when i was pulling out of my street, Deryk informed me that it was probably water on the breaks and since it did not happen all the time he said it was obviously nothing major, but as i was driving along today i went to press my brakes and my foot nearly went through the floor and i had to crash into a kirb to stop myself coming out a junction. My brakes completely failed This car has been an absolute shambles since the minute we bought it and Deryk should be absolutely mortified with the cars he is selling to people and the reputation he has, even the lady that came to read my gas meter said she has heard nothing but bad things about Broxburn Motorzone. I wouldn't take a car off them for free!! Their customer service is disgusting, the girls that work there cant even take a bloody mobile number down without getting it wrong THREE times! you can tell to look at them they aren't professional with the way they present themselves. Thankfully my kids were not in the car when i crashed or i would not be sitting here writing this review. Please take note of my review, if i was fabricating it in any way i would not have admitted that they fixed my original problems for free and i would have only mentioned the bad points. I have now had to take a picture of a post-it note next to my mileage deeming it not fit for purpose and send it to the consumer ombudsman with full details of these and the problems with the car, so now i have to go through the long route without being able to drive the car to try and get my money back. Luckily we did not get an MOT with the car so Deryk has no way of proving that the car did not have this problem when it was sold to me and since this has happened within the first 6 months of purchase he will be held responsible for this. If you need to report Broxburn Motorzone please contact the Consumer ombudsman instead of trade and standards as they can take you through the process alot quicker.
Bought my car 3 weeks ago without seeing the reviews and was very happy with my civic. A few things were done on the car before sale and a 12 month mot. So far so good, a few days ago driving along and my music stopped playing and I lost my display unit. Straight away I'm thinking a fuse has blown and was right replaced the fuse and straight away the fuse blows. Phoned the guys at motorzone and asked me to bring it up to have a look at it. While they had the car I read the reviews on here and started fearing the worst. Couple if days later got a phone call to say the head unit had been the problem and it was fixed. Absolutely delighted with my buy and the service I received would have no trouble recommending Broxburn motorzone from my personal experience. Thanks guys .
