AVOID AVOID AVOID! CROOKS WHO NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN. I honestly cannot stress enough to stay away from this place - please please please stay away. Having the worst experience with this company that I have ever had with anyone. Selling cars, and not just the old bangers but fairly new ones appearing to be in good condition. They take your money and hold on to your car for as long as possible whilst promising things they never do. My boyfriend bought a car in June (it's now August) that had only a few minor cosmetic problems - a few scratches, a dodgy back window etc. The salesman - who assumes flattery can get him out of anything and could charm the birds from the trees - particularly with women whom he deems to know nothing about cars and therefore easy prey - sold us the car on the condition that he would have these issues repaired that weekend and we could drive away on Tuesday. No car on Tuesday, or response. Weds, we called and were told they knew nothing about any repairs (despite these being written down by the owner on the day as we signed the deal and put into progress). Were told that the repairs would be carried out that day. After many attempts, promised callbacks and being messed about - with a lot of rudeness as well - no repairs done and lots of excuses given, said something about parts needing to be ordered (which were supposed to have been done a week before) but a service would be done that morning and all other repairs and said it would be ready Friday. When I pointed out that this was all meant to have been done already the man on the phone came back with ‘well I’m not bring funny but it’s only been a week’. Smelled fishy so went down personally on Wed pm to see the car. Was told most things had been completed, gave a list and a service was being done. Asked about the rattling in the back, which was also a major repair, and they didn't know anything about it. Called on Thursday to ask how the service had gone and was told everything had gone 'A OK’, car was fine. Went back in ANOTHER week to see the car, none of the repairs had been done. They literally lied to my face. The mechanic in the garage said the problem would be fixed by 3pm and we could take it home that evening. When the evening came, we were told that the car needed a whole new gearbox - something that had not been picked up despite having been 'serviced' by C&N's mechanic days before. Said they would order a part that day and update us in a few days. That was 11 days ago. When I contacted them to say that if this didn’t get sorted soon we wanted our money back we were told bluntly ‘you signed a contract. We have 30 days to make repairs before you’re entitled to ask for a refund’. My guess is, as with previous customers, they try to keep the car for as long as possible to limit your consumer rights and run down their pathetic excuse for a 'warrantly'. Called back today and were passed around promised a total of three call backs. When you do go there the staff are rude and make snide remarks to make it clear you are annoying them and constantly complain of how busy they are despite the place being completely empty of customers whenever I’ve been there. Another favourite excuse is 'Ros has been away!' 'Oh she's been ill' - the next week 'oh she had a family emergency' ... 'this person doesn't know our policy' and a million other ridiculously invented excuses. Called again after a week of having ordered a new gearbox and was told it hadn’t arrived - seems it hadn’t even been ordered. When I spoke to the manager he turned from charmer to nasty frighteningly quickly. Yelled at me to the point I was speechless on the phone and in tears. Rude, nasty and even downright frightening. Since then we have been back three times, even recorded him on the sly to get his lies on tape which we will be using if it goes any further in court. They even blamed delays on the contracted mechanic who, when I checked with him, assured me that C&N hadn’t even given him the orders that he needed, that they hadn’t even been made to his knowledge. He was obvioulsly getting annoyed that working with these crooks was ruining his reputation and couldn’t assure me enough that if it was in his power it would be done. Went back after another few weeks and demanded to see the car. It was in a warehouse, at the very back with 200 cars in front of it and it hadn’t been touched. He asked when my boyfriend was having his test and seemed to think this didn’t made it an urgent case, ('well why's he bought it now then?!') despite having been paid in full over a month earlier for the car and him paying a bomb for temporary insurance on it. He now hasn’t driven for a month and has his test next month. My boyfriend rang and left angry messages as they refuse to pick up the phone or respond demanding a refund but no response was given. Went there after a break of another few weeks and saw the car outside. My mother asked what had been done and he refused to give details, even when she just demanded a yes or no answer he refused to give one. He said it would be ready - and they’d even deliver it- on Monday. Surprise surprise, it’s now Weds and have heard nothing. Ignoring phonecalls. What was promised as a small 3 day job at the most has taken nearly two months and we still have no sign of getting our car, and no repairs have been done. I don’t think we ever will get it and we’ve now lose another £200 on insurance that we couldn’t even use so have no money to fix it ourselves privately. Buying a car from these people is the worst mistake we have ever made; I just thank God that we bought it on a credit card. Unprofessional, rude and incompetent crooks that could drive the most patient people to madness if not the grave in their deathtraps. Don’t listen to the charming sales attitude waving away bad reviews with his ‘what do they expect of an old car? They’re being unreasonable’ etc etc. Most reviews I’ve read are from people buying a good condition car from them for a good amount of money and have actually nearly been killed as a result of dodgy ‘repairs’ and concealed problems. I don’t call that being unreasonable!! What was meant to be an exciting experience for my boyfriend buying his first proper car has turned into a nightmare. Please, please, PLEASE don’t take the risk of buying from these crooks and pass the word on - if this saves anyone from making the same mistake we did it will be worth the review. If we could campaign to have them shut down we would and I'm looking into ways to get them shut down or at least make sure as many people as possible know what they really are. Will update if and when we ever get our car :(

One star is far too generous for these people. Minus 5 is more accurate!!! I handed over cash for a car that looked lovely, was ensured there were no leaks, or faults of any description, came with a 3 month warranty which isn't worth the paper it's printed on!!! They let me drive off the forecourt knowing they had scammed me, my treasured car developed an engine fault after I drove 90 miles, causing me to have to stop on a motorway, it also smelled of fuel (which the salesman said was on his clothes) all lies. The screen washers didn't work, the pump was not working. I have had that replaced. On arriving at a services I noticed fuel had leaked onto the floor in the car park, at home I went out to the car the following morning to discover that the 2 rear tyres were not road legal so arranged to replace them, when the mechanic took the wheels off we saw that the rear brakes were in such a disgusting state that lumps of them were falling off, I have also replaced these, my car is now in a main dealer garage having the fuel leak fixed, there is also another part that has a split which I will need to replace aswell as the turbo which is also faulty. Basically they sold me what could have very easily been a death trap! I have had to pay for all these repairs from my own pocket as contacting them and asking them to keep to the warranty resulted in phone calls being ignored and not returned. I am very angry about this and absolutely gutted that I've been put through this because of the inconsideration and inability to carry out proper safety checks by this company, they put lives in danger! Their after sales service is absolutely disgusting and I would NEVER EVER recommend anyone to buy from these people. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!

AVOID AVOID AVOID Bought a car from them last year for the amount of £2500. Car kept cutting out they told me it's a common fault and apparently because I was flooding the engine. Well, engine has gone now and a rebuild will cost more than what I paid,so sent it to the scrappy for £30!!! Before my car started cutting out I introduced my friend (Single mum)to them as she had a low budget, she got a car with a promise from the guy,if any things wrong with it during the MOT we will pay, paid, signed papers etc...drove off,few weeks down the line MOT was due they had the car for over 2 weeks, ended up my friend having to fork out another £145!!Few weeks later it was making a funny noise, knocking, rung up,got passed about with no solution, not even a year she's had it,went to get it checked the other day on diagnostics, was advised it was a death trap,EVERYTHING was wrong with it and not to drive it,Now we are both left with no money,no car and now no jobs!!!!!AVOID BIG TIME!!!

Oh an there was a big dent in the side of the car which was not there when I dropped the car off! Im fuming an still now 15/03/2016 trying to get hold of them to sort it out. If I could give this company a 0 across the board I would. I understand they may be investigated by X Ray if anyone would like to be involved. To anyone else considering buying a car from C&N - DON'T - save yourself time, stress and money by staying well away. We bought a £1,600 car from them last year. We had to spend £400 on it in the first few months, then the oil pump stopped working, no oil light came on, and the engine seized. We are in the process of taking them to court.

Hi, I am another verified reviewer on this disgraceful 'company' - I've no idea who x-ray are but I would love the chance to be involved in anything that helps bring these criminals to task. Do get in touch.

I too have been treated disgustingly by these crooks!! Lost 1700 pounds and in a dilemma as to what to do next. The car is worth £40 scrap! They should be shut down and punished for treating people like this. Who do we contact for this to happen.

Bought car 7/11/15 took to my garage 10/11/15 for service and told engine damaged, phoned C & N Automotive and told I would not get refund as they would repair the car but could not fit in till 3/12/15. Took car in on the 2/12/15, and told due to staff shortages would not be looked at till end of month. Have now been told on the 23/12/15 they're waiting for the BOSS to come back on holiday, same again on the 4/01/16. I wish I had read the reviews before going to this Walt Disney outfit. Don't touch this place, not good car sales company, will be going to C & N for a face to face chat, fed up with phone.

I was sold a Volvo xc90 which had a faulty gearbox and brakes. Took it back after a couple of days and nearly 6 months on I'm still fighting to get it back at no cost of my own. They have been untruthful and aggressive about all of it and not helpful in the slightest. Currently taking legal action. Stay far away.

Avoid C & N Automotive at all costs. Cheap cars that look too good to be true? That's because in my opinion they are! Clutch slipping, exhaust broken, cd player not working, large scuff to one side that was "covered" using oil so you couldn't see it until washed. Exceedingly bad after sales. Run away if you want my advice.

C & N Automotive Trade sold me a faulty car, lied time and again about fixing known issues and invited me to collect 3 times, knowing the car was still faulty. Owner was hostile and it took the threat of legal action and six months to get my money back. I believe I will not be alone on having problems with this dealership.

C & N Automotive Trade is the worst car dealer . Please avoid at all costs. They sold me car a which had engine management light emission problem. They had made stamps to show the car is fully serviced. Owner in fancy clothes is very rude when you explain the problem.

I agree with all comments about this company. Please save yourself any trouble and stay away. We have just bought a car from them. We paid for the car last Thursday...it was supposed to be MOTd and ready for collection Saturday....got it today....5 days later than they said. And yes it felt like bully boy tactics are used. Never ever again will I go near this company and urge anyone to stay away.
