My wife and I went on recommendation from a friend who bought a car from them. When we arrived we were greeted almost immediately but left alone to look, we had seen an Audi on the net and asked to look inside it, we were given the keys and left to look around the car without being pestered which made a change, we asked for a test drive which was not a problem even though the car was buried at the back of the showroom the guys were happy to dig it out if we were serious. When we returned we asked about our part exchange, they seemed happy to work out a price for us. Although not as much as we would have liked it compared OK with other prices we had been given, after looking through the paperwork and a little more discussion we agreed a deal but said we would like the car within a couple of days, although this was a tight schedule we were not disappointed with the result and i couldn't believe the speed they had done the work including a bumper scuff repair and all wheels refurbished i was even shown around the body shop and preparation areas When we came to collect the car we were looked after as well as we had been when we had first arrived. We have had the car for a few weeks now and would not hesitate to recommend the Canfield Garage to anyone else, they have changed my view on "used car dealers" !! I have read a few other reviews on them which were not very positive and feel they do not reflect them honestly we certainly couldn't see any negatives with them what so ever

I bought a BMW 116i (2012) recently and I am very pleased with the car. I felt the price was fair and I have had no problems with the car whatsoever. I was pleased with the offer of an AA warranty for peace of mind.

I rang this garage because I'm buying a Subaru Impreza and asked if I could test drive, too which I was told yes. I then drove 50 minutes to have a look and drive, but because I had 2 more viewings booked for the next day he refused to allow me to test drive it unless I was buying it! Avoid using these time wasters!

We would just like to make people aware that the customer in question was on crutches and due to this we would not allow him to test drive the car. We were also mindful that he was 19 years old and wanted to test drive a 400bhp subaru! Garry, Canfield Garage.
After test driving a Skoda Octavia vRS DSG auto KP09 UMS, it began kangarooing between 1st and second gear. After stating my interest in the car Canfield Garage agreed to fix it. If I paid asking price, but they did agree to refurbish the wheels too in house. It was advertised with 65,000 miles, however it had just under 70000 when I went to view which I pointed out and only knocked off £75 from the screen price. The garage agreed to sort the clutch issue and refurbish the wheels as part of the deal. A £500 deposit was paid, on the basis of them fixing the clutch/ judder/ jumping of gears and refurbishing the wheels. Nearly a week later I tried to chase it up so I could arrange a coach ticket to go pick it up as the garage was over 3 hours drive from me to be told there was an issue, not with the clutch as they thought, but with the Gearbox (DSG) and they were unable to rectify, other than swapping the gearbox at considerable cost which they weren't prepared to do. They did offer to give me a AA 12 month warranty and take it as it was, which I was not prepared to accept as the gearbox issue may not of failed completely and would have been unable to make a claim to get it fixed. A wasted week of my life waiting for my new car, only to be told they cant supply it fault free. A refund has been agreed which I am yet to receive and I am now financially worse off having swapped my car insurance incurring a £25 admin fee in the process which they would not agree to refund as a gesture of goodwill. I just hope somebody doesn't end up with a potential lemon if they are unaware of the gearbox issue.

The car is still being advertised by this trader now at an increased price of £8995...the mileage is also incorrect in their ad..and has since decreased by another 5000 miles from when it was advertised in October!!.. it should read 69815 miles..as I bought it at £7425 in October with 69815 miles on the odometer!

Hi your feedback is very unfair and mostly untrue Some 2 months after originally agreeing to buy a car which you never purchased you are still making comments! Can I ask have you nothing else better to do than write negative comments about a small family business
I bought a 335d touring from this dealer and found the whole process great. I flew down and they picked me up, let me go out in the car myself and buying process was done very quickly and professionally. The car had a few problems but the aftercare has been second to none and everything has been done what I asked. Overall very happy customer and well recommended Thanks Steven

I bought a Saab today from Canfield Garage and found the whole process a pleasant experience. They allowed my wife and I to take the car on a test drive for as long as we liked and we went our for an hour. Only because we got lost!

Canfield garage were very professional in sales approach, the car is perfect and I haven't had any problems. There was a minor slip up as they didn't MOT the car before sale as they said they would, they have however reimbursed me for the cost of an MOT and redeemed themselves for their error. I would have no problems recommending them to friends.
