Atrocious service, liars, misleading adverts, broken vehicle. I booked in a set time for a test drive. When I arrived the guy behind the desk was extremely rude and informed me that I was only allowed a 2 minute test drive. Gave me the keys and said someone would meet me at the car to take me on the prearranged test drive. After waiting almost 30 minutes for someone to meet me at the vehicle, I went back to the office to be told that no one was going to meet me at the vehicle and that I had to join the back of the queue for test drives, which was a 45 minute wait. When it was eventually my turn for the supposed pre booked test drive, the guy struggled to get the vehicle out of its bay. I thought he was a bad driver. Little did I know that the vehicle had MAJOR MECHANICAL ISSUES. The four wheel drive systems didn’t work as the transfer box was broken. When I got it into 2wd I was only able to drive it 5meters before the clutch completely went. They then started pressing to find out if I wanted to buy the vehicle. Why would I buy a vehicle that needed 1000’s spent on it in parts. Absolute scammers

If you are prepared to participate in a lengthy court battle? Then Car Giant is the car dealership for you! OVERVIEW: I purchased a used Peugeot RCZ Red Carbon motor vehicle from Car Giant for the sum of £12,476.92 (including fees) on 6 January 2018 with a mileage reading of 32,828. Between 11 February 2018 and 21 June 2018 the vehicle was diagnosed as having no less than four faults. The dealer repaired the first three faults (via a third party) but was unable to repair the forth fault. These four faults being; a. fault 1 – high pressure fuel pump failure b. fault 2 – clutch and dual mass flywheel failure c. fault 3 – ventilation system failure d. fault 4 – unidentifiable clunking noise Because the Dealer was unable to repair the existing fault (forth fault) I rejected the vehicle under The Consumer Rights Act 2015. At the time of my rejection the vehicle had a mileage reading of 49,416 and a market value of £10,500.00. (Final Right to Reject - Second tier remedy; after the first 28 days, but within the first six months of ownership). The Dealer had offered to repay £8,155.00 based on a deduction of use at 25 pence per mile. I contended that such a deduction was excessive and would result in a significant financial loss to me because the amount offered is much less than the market value of the vehicle being £10,500.00 at the time of rejection and as such Car Giant’s offer does not constitute as remedy for breach of contract. NOTE: There is no set principle that defines the amount of monies a dealer can deduct for ‘fair use’ but it must be reasonable. ‘I’ and the Dealer then participated in an ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) Service. This ADR service did not alter the dealer’s offer, nor did I find it helpful and to be honest I found it a complete waste of time; thus I would not recommend it. Having exhausted all avenues in trying to resolve my dispute with Car Giant, I decided the only option left was to initiate court action against them. My claim was heard on 8 September 2020 before District Judge McCormack at Willesden County court. ‘I‘ the Claimant represented myself, and the Defendant’s representative was an employee, they did not have a Solicitor present. The Judge agreed that 25ppm was excessive and awarded me the market value of the motor vehicle based on its current mileage. I was also awarded my personal losses, plus costs, traveling expenses and my attendance allowance. Despite my request, I was not awarded interest, due to the fact that up until the hearing I still had use of the car. It is also worth noting that the Dealer tried to argue that their offer to deduct 25ppm was far less than the 45ppm HMRC mileage rate. The Judge responded by informing Car Giant that the HMRC rate was made up of a collection of elements that were non comparable, thus he rejected their argument. Good luck if you’re planning on buying your next car from these hounds!

Paulius in response to Faulty Car- I took them to court and won

It looks like I will be doing the same, taking them to court. Bought car 12 weeks ago and is faulty, they still repairing it and customer service is none existent. Glad you have won, maybe and only maybe one day they will learn something, at least manners. Good luck.

Cargiant please avoid this useless company. After spending 14 thousand on a car with multiple problems, Car giant did nothing to help resolve these issues, even though we spent a extra 1000 pounds on warranty. All the garages we saw told us that the car was sold to us with these problems but still car giant did nothing but make excuses. Hopefully this post will help others stop making the same mistake we made of going to car giant.

Hi all As your customers I tried to get a price from you because I bought the car from here. 1. I understand your price over the phone, and the evaluator gives another. 2. When the price offered by the evaluator differs from the business-to-business level. It makes you some cheap middleman- combined with a personal one as if I were selling the car to him and not to the Car giant company. Yesterday's experience with the appraiser of my car who didn't even open the trunk, and with his personal behaviour combined with the shitty price he gave me, considering that the car has all the services in bmw services, and only has a few minor scratches. It seems aberrant that we would ever return to your company or even recommend it.

We were welcomed into Cargiant, which to me was the first sign of a good place, We had a car reserved and were looked very well by Rafik who could not be anymore helpful than he was. He was a very nice person, efficient and knowledgeable. He explained everything slowly and carefully and did not mind repeating things we were unsure about. Despite the fact that the place was getting busier and busier, he gave us plenty of time. We were also left on our own to view the car and make notes etc. The other staff in the pay and collection section were also very helpful. I would certainly recommend Cargiant to my family and friends. Teresa Jackson

My husband just bought a commercial vehicle from them(a van) on Sunday . We also pay the VAT for the car as they said it has to be paid by costumer. We got approved for financing and we were happy with that. On the way home ,the car started to show on board few issues ,like “check injection and turbo boost sensor “ I called Cargiant 2nd day to tell them I would like to return the car as I was not expecting the car to have any issues being 2 years old. They told me I’m not entitled to bring the car back if they don’t get a report from a service that the car has obviously an issue. So I booked in for a service for same day but they said after that that needs to be seen by a diesel specialist. I called back cargiant to tell them I’m unable to find any spaces available for service until end of March and my 14 days to return the car will be gone by then. So they booked me for a service for Wednesday and I got there ,they confirmed the fault and send the report to cargiant . I called cargiant again to ask when to bring the car back and get my refund which was around £4000 and they said that a manager has to verify and approve the rejection of the car and they will get back to me. It’s Friday and no phone call from them. I just called now and they told me I’m not entitled to reject the car and can’t have a full refund . Basically they are forcing me to pay for a faulty car and they don’t care about customer rights that I have 14 days to bring it back and it’s not because I don’t like the car but because it’s faulty and I really don’t want it when they say they will fix it because I don’t know how the car will be in 2 months time and what else will show me as errors. This is just disgusting customer service I have received and I will escalate this further as they basically force me to get the car no matter what. The 14 days customers rights to cancel are just bulshit and do not believe them.

"Lost £10k, bad engine, they don't care"

Difficult to write a bad review when many people are so happy with cargiant and its cars, friends of mine included. Yet the true measure of a company is what they do when things occasionally go terribly wrong and cargiant has refused to engage. Bought a quite new Mazda from them in June 2017, c. £9k including the 3-year warranty. Within a month, I bought a new battery (£200). Within 3 months (from memory), new cooling circuit including the radiator (£500), paid by the warranty. Within a year and a half, the head gasket went. Eventually got it repaired via the warranty (£3000, I paid £1,000). I reached out to cargiant under the Sale of Goods Act, they did not want to find a solution that works for both of us. They could have given me a decent discount on another car, anything. They were not interested. I did not get it fixed for a year, due to Covid restrictions, so I got it back in July last year. This month it had another major engine failure, no previous warning, the repair will set me back at least £3k. I'm £10k out of pocket, could never enjoy the car and need a new car. cargiant customer service is appalling, so all I got left is to post this review in as many places as possible, to warn others. Piece of advice, get their extended warranty, you can't rely on them to help you if things go wrong.

I bought a ford focus 2017 and it is just under 3 months, and the battery is dead. The bulb is faulty which I can understand with 5 year old car. However, the car giant says they do all the checks before selling a car but they never informed me about the battery life. The battery is now going to cost me £200. The funny part is their after-sales service said they don't want to get involved in this matter. I would be better off buying the old car from vendors who give you 1-year warranty.. I don't think I am going to car giant ever. Moreover, the review team says on trust pilot that the after sales service will reach out to me and they never did.....

"Nightmare dealing with Car giant "

Worth reading my extremely awful experience with Car giant, and, then you make your own decision. I wish if I could leave a positive feedback as the sales rep was good. But I am having the nightmare of my life in dealing with Car giant after paying 16.5k up front for the car purchase which is showing as only done under 30k on the clock, straight away noticed issues with the car has noisy brakes, tracking issue, wheel baring noise and other issues in addition. Noisy brakes were noticed on test drive and was assured will be fixed on collection, but on collection was told is to do with moist on the discs/pads and will go away in approx. 10miles drive, if not to bring the car back. I called the After Sales team and explained all the issues but they are not ready to take the ownership and passing me from post to pillar and pushing to go to a local garage to get the issues looked in to. In my opinion after sales team are useless and just trained to listen to issues you are experiencing but provide no solution. They have no empathy for the customers and just play delay tactics by providing ridiculously delayed appointments to get the car looked in to, not understanding all the stress I am going through by not being able to use the car freely. I could have bought the car from any other car dealer or private seller , but I chose Car giant for reason and expecting they would provide a top class customer service, but I feel really disappointed and let down by Car giant, I regret choosing Car giant. For now I feel like I have been daylight robbed by Car giant of my hard earned money. I will update this review as I go along my experience with Car giant, so that all the readers can see the true picture. Now I will leave it to you to make your own decision.

Don’t buy from car giant! They claim to sell quality cars but they don’t. Bought a car off them 5 days later driven less then 20 miles broke down, which they claim has 38000 on the clock? 1 month latter nothing is done about it. Contacted them they say we are authorising the repairs?! Totally useless I need the car for my work and am self employed. The staff are rude and clueless!!!! Don’t buy from them they vehicles are rubbish!!!!!! AVOID !!!! And if you have return it before it’s too late and pay the extra money and avoid these incompetent dealership!!!

Sudeer in response to AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I cant agree more. I was duped by Cargiant . Although its an old story now, it is true, so I have to vent out my frustration. The so called 60 point check is a myth. My car stalled just outside the shop because the start stop battery was not working. After a lot of follow up they finally changed the battery. However the car didnt have a parcel shelf, had a damaged rear bumper, a malfunctioning rain sensor etc and two dents on the rear hatchback door. People like myself who do not know out rights as a buyer, are compelled to buy the car. There are sweet talking young guys who make their money by lying to us. Avoid this company. I still use the car and some of those defects are still there.
