I assumed that the 128 point AA check was there to reassure buyers from Car Store Gloucester that they were buying a trouble free car so didn't check the car myself. I doubt if an AA person even looked at the car I bought as the defects could have been spotted by a blind person. Trying to get hold of someone to get things done at Evans Halshaw is very difficult, actually getting something done is very near impossible. All the guarantees they advertise and reassurances they give you are meaningless sales patter, they are not worth the paper they are written on. If, like me, you are stupid enough to buy from them then at least get the car independently inspected and get any defects rectified before parting with any payment or signing any papers. You'll regret not doing so, I know I am.

Bought a car recently from Evans Halshaw Car Store Gloucester in good faith which was to be delivered. Fortunately I’m in the trade so could check the car out on arrival. (It arrived with an engine management light on). The car turned out to be in awful condition with multiple faults. Buyers beware!

Great choice of used cars at Evans Halshaw Car Store Gloucester. I chose a suitable vehicle costing over £15K and paid a £1000 deposit advising the salesman Drew Guthrie it would take a week to acccess savings and I would be in touch to pay and collect the car. On phoning seven days later to arrange this I was told car no longer on site as it had been sold to someone else! but a similar car was available. I agreed purchase of this with Sam Worton who offered compensation of free GardX treatment and a tank of fuel so agreed to this, complete payment made, paperwork done and arranged to collect next day. On arrival next day second set of paperwork necessary as first couldn’t be found. Given keys but GardX not done as it was ‘out of stock’ so promised to return for this treatment. After 5 miles of my journey home fuel warning light comes on - another broken promise and finally it began to rain and the rear screen wiper blade was missing. Finally return (30 mile round trip each time) and I think all is now satisfactory but probably the worst aspect of this was the lack of concern of the sales staff who had to refer everything to their faceless managers ‘upstairs’ Do I have to give it one star? Probably Simon who did the GardX warrants a good mention.

Sam was amazing. He was polite, knowledgeable and friendly. Knew exactly how to help and was very conscientious. No hard sell. I just wish all salesmen were as good as him. I do not understand why anyone would leave a negative review. Would recommend Evans Halshaw Car Store in Gloucester to anyone. Jack was also very friendly and helpful. Thank you to both of them. Following a test drive at Evans Halshaw Car Store in Gloucester for a 10 plate ford focus I found the car pulled to the left. I explained this to sales manager who told me all cars pull to the left as it’s a safety feature! However, if I agreed to purchase the car they would fix this safety feature!!! Also a sales manager sitting crossed legged on a chair was not a professional image.
