I recently bought a BMW from Caralot. The deal went really well. They even agreed a part exchange price for my 16 year old 3 series over the phone before I even went to view their car. The salesmen were all very helpful, friendly and professional. I am really happy with the deal and the car that I bought. No negatives for me so far. Would recommend them.

Caralot were great when I went to look at a car,pay for it and drive away. That's where their care package ended! I drove away with a known dash fault light which they had agreed to fix once the parts had turned up and also a promise to respray the bonnet. The car I traded in I'd owned for 4 yrs and was loved almost as much as my children. When I received a call from them telling me it had had an engine management light come on after a test drive I was genuinely surprised. I was very open with caralot and honest. I'd never had issues. I even passed on the garage details I'd always used to support my innocence. The next day the owner of caralot called me. He said caralot had RESET the engine management light and then sold the car which had subsequently broke down. Apparently that was my fault as he said I had allegedly known about the fault then Traded the car in on purpose and he wanted me to return the car I'd bought and take my old car back!! Yet it was caralot that RESET the fault and proceeded to sell it in to the next unsuspecting customer. Car dealer of the year!! I don't think so. I stuck to my guns and refused to give in. Whilst they tried to made to feel guilty and obviously didn't want to fix the car I'd bought from them I persevered. My car eventually was collected. I was left a curtesy car with 5 warnings(including audio) for brake failure! Caralot painted my bonnet. (Badly as you can still see the corrosion spot I'd wanted sorting) and said the dash pod ordered wasn't the correct part. They returned my car. Then It took almost 2 months of calls and emails which they very rarely replied too! When they did talk to me they talked to me like a piece of dog excrement most of the time. Yes that is you Nick. Your after sales technique does need a little tuning. They lied to me on several occasions. Telling me the dash pod would cost 4K. Strange but Audi UK quoted £1153 When I brought this to their attention they then back peddled and said it was only going to cost £300 to fix it! I ended up accepting a payout(less then the replacement costs) purely because I didn't trust them enough to work on my car. I will never use them again. They are NOT highly recommend and I will also will let as many people know about how they dealt with me.

Had an issue with my good ladies car which we bought over 7 months ago, lost all power on a Friday morning on her way to work! Took it straight there, had it repaired and ready for the close of play, offered her a courtesy car and kept her updated throughout the day. Best off all no costs involved and all sorted under warranty. Fantastic set of guys who really do look after you, would recommend them to anyone!?!

Hello everyone.Sorry i can not leave a review at the moment .Been reading the reviews and paying a visit tomorrow 30/12/2015. At car a lot sales.Looking at a few cars for my friend who is interested in buying a vehicle for his good lady.We are going unannounced and hoping to make a purchase on the same day. I'm going because i'm out the motor trade myself and being in charge of a paint shop for a large company for fourteen years i know what i'm looking for in all areas.Will leave my review on here after are visit.Regards Simon.

We have bought two cars from them in the past three months, we found them to be very helpful and arranged finance on one vehicle within a day. We would recommend them the only minor fault would be the valeting isn't as good as would expect, otherwise 5 Star service.

CARALOT SIGNED ME UP TO A FINANCE AGREEMENT WITHOUT MY PERMISSION AND REFUSED TO GIVE BACK THE REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT WITHOUT A LOT OF HASSLE. BEWARE! I went to look at an Alfa GT 3.2 advertised on their site through Autotrader. I was told someone had already put a deposit down to look at it and if they did not buy they would let me know. Which they did and happily took a £100 ‘refundable’ deposit after telling me the car had needed ‘suspension work’ and the cost had gone from £4k to £5k as a result and the fact that the phone had rung off the hook for the car so I was ‘lucky’ to get the chance to buy it. I got there to look at the car to find no suspension work had been done but the sills had been poorly fixed, the wheels poorly refurbished and several other issues. The best one being when I test drove it there was no 6th gear. Not that the salesman in the car had a clue it even had 6 gears! Then came the hard sell, one salesman had a go, then another, then I was walked around the car lot and workshop (to see the dodgy low standard repairs going on first hand). Then I was taken inside and sat in the middle of the office with 3 of them round me taking it in turns to push the sale while one of them took my details to ‘look into finance for me’ I informed them which they deny that the car was for my other half and she would have to see it before I committed to any purchase and numerous issues including 6th gear being missed must be fixed. Admittedly also a fun car for me to drive on a weekend which they jumped all over later on saying that is the only thing I had told them which is a complete lie! Living in York it is a long journey to see the car and once it was fixed I arranged to go and see it again with my other half so we could decide if she liked it to buy it. Admittedly due to work and family issues we had to delay going a couple of times. We then found out she had been promoted at worked and needed a more efficient car. I appreciate this is not ideal for them but I was honest about it and called them asap to inform them so they could sell the car on to someone else. Nick pretty much called me a liar and was not at all pleasant on the phone saying he did not believe me and I had never said it was for my other half only a weekend car for me. Complete nonsense. He then informed me that his ‘legal team’ would have to look into whether they would give me back the ‘refundable’ deposit! He promised to call me by Monday lunchtime to let me know. He never did call. However, Monday I got a letter from the finance company informing me of my new finance agreement! Apparently signed by me! The reality was they had clicked the electronic signature button for me on my behalf while I was sat at work miles away in Leeds. They had said to me while there legally I had to click the button but they could technically click it for me although I would have to keep it quiet. Luckily I work in IT and after getting in touch with the fraud team at the finance company was able to prove by the IP address and time stamp of the button click I was not there. They duly got in touch with the finance company and informed them it was a ‘mistake’ and after days of calls and hours of my time wasted it was sorted out. They also surprisingly changed their mind very quickly on the refund of the deposit. Although tried to send this via cheque which is just a poor service and means you get the £100 back days later which they do not inform you of when they happily take the money! If you look at their other reviews you will see they will come up with a ‘cocky’ answer to this making out it was my fault blah blah blah they only seem to take the time to comment of the bad reviews. The long and short of it is they lied about the work done on the car to bump the price up £1k, gave the hard sell which they pride themselves on not doing, took a ‘refundable’ deposit which they only gave back because I got the fraud team on to them and set up finance in my name (note this was also for the wrong amount). Dodgy as dodgy can be! AVOID One other point to note they round down the mileage of the cars they advertise. For example the car I looked at was advertised with £90k on the clock and was more like 94k. Others I noticed advertised with 90k had as much as 97k on the clock, very misleading so keep an eye out.
