Very quick to sell the car but horrible when it comes to after sales services. An absolute joke of a company. You ring them to sort out an issue they created through their own incompetence and there is zero interest to help you with the issue. Reading other negative reviews I see there's always a response from CarBase Bristol saying you should contact them on such and such number or write a complaint and send it to their email address complaints@carbase.co.uk. I did that and nothing happened. I also wrote complaints...twice and they still didn't bother to respond to my emails. If you really must buy a car or van from this petty company at least NEVER buy any other products they so desperately try to sell with the car. It is not worth it. People buy from a car dealer hoping the experience will be better than buying from a private seller. Not the case for this company. Completely and utterly useless. Avoid giving your money to these clowns.

Carbase from Carbase Bristol in response to Terable company
Hi Sean, we're sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your experience. A holding deposit is fully refundable and is available to you in order to secure a vehicle, temporarily removing it from sale so that it will be ready for your approval and you won't miss out. We hope that you will still consider us for your future motoring needs. Best wishes.
Turned up on Saturday but was told had to book in advance for a test drive (no problem). Turned up 10 days later as arranged - no one was expecting me. Kept saying someone would be with me shortly, what car was I here to look at, etc. Gave up after 30 mins and went home. What a waste of time.

Spotted an Audi A3 S-Line on Carbase webpage. Contacted them to view it bit they advised me it wouldn’t be ready for 21 days due to preparation after they initially received it. I left my details. Five days later I got a call from them telling me the car was no longer available after another customer had RESERVED it! I wasn’t given the option to reserve it (as i probably would have if offered to me!) Poor Customer Service to a potential customer who had a nice big, wad of money to spend with them. Won’t be dealing with this crowd now....as if this is how they treat potential customers....then how will they treat you after they’ve had your cash? Their loss! 🤷🏼♂️

Carbase from Carbase Bristol in response to Don’t do as they tell you they will.....
Thank you for sharing your experience, and we sincerely apologise for the frustration caused. We understand how disappointing it must have been to miss out on the opportunity to reserve the vehicle. Your feedback helps us improve, and we'll make sure this situation is addressed to prevent it from happening in the future. If you’d like to discuss this further, please don’t hesitate to contact us at complaints@carbase.co.uk or 0117 911 5428.
These guys are in a huge rush to take your money and try sell you add-ons and other "benefits"... What ever you do, find another car dealer and don't go into any kind of agreement with them. Once your money is taken, they will do things like forget to deliver your car, or simply refuse to take calls and avoid calling back for over 2 weeks... I have already been stung by these people, don't fall for it yourself. Go privately or find another car dealer, your odds are you'll be in better hands.

Arnoldo in response to Run... Do not do business with them
Unfortunately, your rapid response to my review is too little too late. Your sales team pushed extras on me which I bought because I felt it would be worth while. Unfortunately when the time came to utilise my paid for benefits it took 10 days and 4 phone calls to get a call back from you because no matter what day or time you call you're always too busy and will call the client back (after 10 days and 4 calls). I now know I was mugged, as when I asked for a refund of my after products the person on the phone said it wouldn't happen and pretty much ignored me then said bye hung up the phone. This review will stay here for all to see, there is only one way to make this right... if you people want to do that you have my details, contact me with a solution, until then you guys are dishonest...
After finding a Peugeot 3008 Allure on Autotrader listed by Carbase, we contacted the Bristol branch and paid £99 to reserve the vehicle for a test drive. We told the lady on the phone we wished to part ex our car as part of the deal and were travelling an hour and a half on the Sunday morning. We asked if it had been a smokers car, to which we were told ‘it’s highly unlikely as we do not stock cars that have been smoked in’. We turned up on the day and had a friendly greeting and were told to sit in an area where Abi would be taking care of us. Abi was very friendly and pleasant, explaining the process. We were shown to the car where my eye was instantly drawn to 3 gouges in the driver and rear passenger door. Upon opening the car it was clear it was in the same condition it had been when it was brought in as a part-ex. It was in fact a smokers car despite being assured prior that it wouldn’t be. There was mud on the sills, a drink had been split in one of the front cup holders and the dashboard had a dusty white residue on it. The car was filthy to put it mildly. There was around 27 chips out of the leather on the steering wheel, deep scratches in the back of the drivers seat and dog hair in the boot. The centre console was extensively scratched too. We drove around the corner into an industrial estate were we went over the car from top to bottom. My wife and I decided we would be walking away from this deal. On the way back to Carbase I noticed a grinding noise from the rear brakes. After pulling over the rear disc was pitted and scored. It was clear it needed new discs and pads on the back. Back at the branch we broke the news of our disappointment to Abi who seemed genuinely shocked and admitted she hadn’t personally seen the car. She went over to speak to her manager and after a minute or so he came over. He said he would like to make sure ‘Abi had looked after us’ to which we replied that she had been great, no complaints on that front. He asked us what was wrong with the car and we explained every single detail from our observation of the battered interior and exterior damage, including the noisy rear brakes. His demeanour was chippy and defensive, which was surprising as it should have been us that was this way seeing as they had lied to us and wasted our time. He tried to explain the filthy state of the car by suggesting ‘we only had you booked in for a test drive, so you can’t expect the car to be showroom standard like this’ (at this point he pointed at a BMW M2). We asked why can’t the car be in a presentable standard seeing as we were looking to test drive it and buy it? He changed the subject at this point and proceeded to explain the mechanics of a brake calliper, and suggested the brake pads had been changed, hence the noise. With well over 500 cars in the showroom it seemed that he was able to recall every detail of the brake pads that we’re supposedly bedding in! Absolute rubbish. If the dealership can’t clean a car they’ve had on Autotrader for a week and booked out for a test drive, I highly doubt it’s had any maintenance done on it. We’ll never look at Carbase again, and I wish I could give zero stars on this review. Abi was lovely, but this company are comparable to Trade Centre Wales which is nothing to brag about.
Carbase from Carbase Bristol in response to Dreadful Experience

Feel free to reach out to the team on 0117 911 5428, or email complaints@carbase.co.uk with any further comments, concerns or suggestions. Kind regards
Firstly over charged for the car, which took a while to sort out. Secondly we paid over £300 for paint protection which wasn’t done, only noticed when we got home. Thirdly no service stamp in the book as they said they would service the car, have said they will send the paperwork to show it’s been serviced and still no proof of a service. Used car shop on my last two cars, will never use car base ever again.

I initially reserved a car online that I wanted to view, I organised the test drive and all seemed fine. The test drive went well and we arranged a deal including part-ex that I was happy with albeit the sales person trying to low-ball me on my part-ex value after telling me my car was in excellent condition but offering £250 less than the website offered based on the condition. I argued this and they agreed to honour the price they should have offered. I organised a date to collect but unfortunately had some financing issues that pushed everything back. I told them I needed some more time and gave them a date of when I had my loan appointment I could pay a deposit then. I heard nothing for a few days then got a jumbled call from someone to say they needed a deposit now, I was at work so asked them to email whatever request they had over to me as I couldn't talk right then.... no email. 2 days before my loan appointment I received a rather curt phone call from someone else telling me unless I gave them a non-refundable deposit they would sell the car to someone else, I told them there were 2 days until I could pay the deposit and was basically told tough but the car stayed online as reserved to me as it had been. Then after my loan appointment was approved, I tried to contact the sales person by email to let them know I wanted to move ahead as I had the money, next thing I see the car has disappeared from the website to then be re-advertised a day later for an extra £1,400 added to the price!! So it turns out it wasn't a case that they couldn't wait 2 more days for my money, they just wanted to inflate the price! I received no response to my email and 2 further calls and only received a response after I made a complaint via the website! I received a frankly disappointing call which gave me no update, no means of rectifying the situation and was told that apparently the car was now 'reserved'. The sales person then replied to me telling me the car was reserved and would I like to be updated, the car then mysteriously became available again the day before it was supposedly being viewed. Despite having agreed a price and part-ex value already, the sales person then refused to honour that agreement as apparently 'stock is hard to get hold of'.... you already have the car in stock, agreed a deal but now you don't want to sell it despite someone offering to buy?? Terrible customer service from start to finish, constantly ignored and then inflated the prices despite already negotiating a price. Claims of customer satisfaction on their website don't appear to match the reviews.
