Trying to help people avoid what I've had to go through by leaving this review and giving some people info incase you have an issue after purchase like I did. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM CARBASE ! I was fooled by the positive reviews and didn't listen to my gut after reading the negaitve ones. I have had nothing but issues from big to small with my car in one shape or another which I paid £13000 for. The check they claim to do and the claim of no immediate repairs or maintenance on their website is absolute bull. I have had to return to carbase for work to be carrried out 5 times in the space of 8 months ! I have also had to put £2000+ of my own money into the car, for work they refused to do/ diagnostics and other work from garages I trusted to actually sort of the issues. As well as this I am now currently faced with having to spend an additional £1400-£3800 which which carbase won't help now. Aside from this they also gave me the personal info from the previous owner, including the name and address which they gave it to me through giving me the service records which had it on there. Some side info I also work with someone who bought a car from the Bristol carbase who ended up having to reject the car and get all his money back because it had a major issue. Dealing with this company has been an absolute nightmare, and the only reason I got anything was because I didn't leave it and continued to push, I rang over and over, I emailed and I turned up over and over. They do anything they can to make you just give up. Trying to get through on the phone when you have an issue through the aftercare/service number is a joke, it wasn't as bad when I first got the car but now it's impossible. A way i did get through one time was by ringing through the sales number. Here is some advice if you buy a car and have an issue : -if you have an issue with the car within 30 days of buying you are legally allowed to reject the car and get all your money back if you want or you can chose repairs. 30 days to 6 months they have one chance to repair it if they fail you can can your money back but it will be an reduced amount. I don't know too much about it because I paid in full but there's something you can do through the finance company too so you can reject the car and get your money back if you bought the car like that. Also Don't bother going through the rac in the 0-6months , they legally have to do any of it anyway. -Be warned on the salesperson's computer when you are buying the car the salesperson zoomed up on the screen without me knowing and asked me to sign it and lied what is was, turned out to basically be a thing where you agree the car could come with faults and could of been in an accident, (which unlucky for me a mechanic from a local garage told me he thought my car had been in an accident and carbase never told me), I wasn't shown any of this to read, whatever you sign make sure you know what it is. -pay at least £100 if you can of the payment on credit card, even if it's just that, you are better legally protected with doing so through using a credit card. -if you have issues as well as verbally speaking to them send emails complaining of issues and get them to email back, bookings, anything agreed to be done, etc, so you have proof of it. The place you need to actually go for repairs to be done is the carbase service centre right by carbase near the storage place. Any repairs and the people who dealt with it were in there. I went into both this place and the main carbase where they sell the cars to speak to people. Lastly take pictures/videos of any problems if you can including warnings on the dash so you have proof of them, and you can do things like screenshot them on your phone so you have it showing the date which is what I did. Again save yourself the grief I've had to go through and go somewhere else!

I was sold a broken car. They took 8 weeks to take it in to get it fixed. I've now waited over 4 weeks to get the car back to me and I'm still waiting. As soon as they sell you a car, they don't care. They don't communicate and no one seems to know what is going on. I get lied to about when things are happening and given recycled information. Really awful and would not recommend at all.

Hi there, This is Patrick Webber, I recently purchased a Peugeot Partner via Bristol Vanbase, and this was later transferred to the auto centre in Weston-super-Mare for repairs under warranty. Initial experience buying the vehicle was great, sales team helpful and efficient. However shortly after purchasing my van multiple warning lights started appearing on the dash, along with pungent white smoke from the exhaust. This was taken to the auto centre under warranty, they initially just cleared the warning lights and told me to “monitor it” which I wasn’t happy with. Unsurprisingly the van was back at the auto centre less than a fortnight later with the exact same issue. I was told to expect around a 4 day turnaround and my van has now been with the auto centre for 13 days! Every single day I call and don’t get through to anyone, so have to give up after about 10/15 minutes on hold. The auto centre have only bothered calling to update me ONCE throughout this whole time. Yesterday I walked 2+ miles to get there and ask in person what is going on, and now my van apparently won’t even start due to an “electrical fault” which wasn’t even an issue when the van went in. They have clearly made a mistake in the workshop and caused further damage. This is my one and only vehicle and I use it every day for work! I have been unable to work for almost 2 weeks now! That’s a potential £2600 in earnings lost!! I cannot afford this! Staff at carbase seem not to care at all on the rare occasions I can finally get through to them! This is completely unacceptable! Couldn’t be more disappointed with the service and wouldn’t recommend to anyone! I believe I should be entitled to compensation for such terrible service, plus a massive loss of earnings. At the very least a courtesy vehicle should have been offered so that I could work during this time. If I’d at least been warned of the timescale I could have made better arrangements, but I’ve been totally left in the dark and unable to contact anyone for the entire ordeal!

ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS - AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Bought a car from the Weston-Super-Mare dealership in July, drove 2 hours home and the engine management light was on. Called Carbase, no answer. Emailed, no answer. This has been an issue going on for 2 months, constant issues and the service you receive is absolutely appalling. I've genuinely never known a company be so awful at customer service in my life. You can't speak to anyone, no one answers the call which is strange because I dropped the car back at my expense and the service guys were sat quietly with no phones calling.... there's a surprise. Service and Sales Manager's don't exist, unless you're looking to spend money on a car. George in the Weston office is not helpful and doesn't care. Service Team manager doesn't exist. There's awards on the website, but good lord. If this is a company that wins customer service awards, then I dread to think what other companies that don't look like. You'd best hope you buy a car that never has a problem, because as you can see from all the reviews, if you do have a problem, they don't care about you, your rights, doing the right thing. A total sham of a company, that should be completely ashamed of themselves. But they won't be ashamed. You'll get the usual 'we'll raise to our senior management team who'll look how we improve' (who I'm not sure actually exist), like all the other reviews on here when something has gone wrong. They don't care, they never will. It's not in their DNA to. They even joke on their reviews page that 'no one's perfect'...literally laughing at how awful their service can be. Hope for the best, prepare to never speak to anyone ever again if you're in trouble. It'll be at your time, your cost, your expense. Shocking, shameful, embarrassing. A disgrace. I look forward to your stock response copied and pasted on here from the other reviews.

Bought a car from carbase, the same day driving the vehicle home there is a fault with the interior fans what had apparently been fixed and checked, I have made 3 trips backwards and forwards to carbase weston ( I live an hour away) to get vehicle fixed they have now said they can't do it so main dealer has to sort it, the vehicle also has squeaky brakes as the pads are really low but they told me they had checked them, and also a rattly brake surround, I thought they check all the cars before selling? I also have wrote complaints to carbase and not heard anything back, won't be buying from carbase again. !!

Our experience of Carbase Weston Super Mare is an extremely negative one. Buying a car should be an exciting and pleasant experience but The hard sell tactics applied by a sales representative totally ruined this for us and we were left angry and frustrated by the whole experience, Had we not made the long journey by train we would have left but felt we had to purchase the car as a none booked train journey return would have been exorbitant. On top of what we had already outlaid to get there in the first place. The manager was only able to offer platitudes and did not address or resolve one of the issues I raised. I won’t be buying another car for a very long time but this experience has been severely tainted.

I bet you still haven’t received any satisfaction from Carbase and I guarantee you never will. Sales reps who work for the company earn commission on selling you extras so there is an incentive for them to apply pressure. If it were a decent company the sales personnel would be paid a salary and would then only give you the facts regarding extras and then leave it at that.
Booked a test drive for my son. We travelled the hour and a half to Weston Super Mare for our booked appointment and test drive, only to be told once we arrived that the car had been sold an hour before! Waste of time and petrol money. Avoid.
