Bought a car from Cars of Charmister,did less than 100 miles,then head gasket went,only got one month warranty, garage not interested.say they can do it and work out a deal,my advice look somewhere else give a very wide birth,and save yourself the agro..

Dear Fred, We are sorry you had issues with the vehicle outside of the warranty period. However it is unfair to say we weren't interested in fixing the vehicle. On the phone I explained that we were booked up in our workshop for the current week and that weather permitting one of our mechanics could do the repair outside. In which you responded by saying you didn't care if he had to work in the rain. We will always try and help, even outside of warranty periods and have done for many years. However we can begin to lose interest once a customer shows lack of respect to our staff. We sell over 200 vehicles each year, many of whom bring their vehicles back for yearly servicing and MOT. Staff don't care. They take first non refundable deposit from you, than try to fix the wreck chosen by you earlier. If you're unhappy they won't give you refund. When wanted to speak with manager they keep saying he's on holiday. After purchase I found my bumper hanging on 2 screws, wind screen with the crack, leaking radiator, one key set. They gave my new MOT cert, don't think it would pass elsewhere. To late to return now. Strongly advise to avoid this place.

Hi Dave, I am sorry to hear about the bumper and radiator. If you had contacted us about these items then we would have been more than happy to have rectified them. I cannot authorise refunds on vehicles because of filled windscreen chips below 10mm as they are an MOT pass. You were also made aware of the 1 key set at vehicle purchase and we offered the services of a reputable locksmith who can code those particular keys for £40. In regards to our MOT standards. My personal failure rate is 15% over the national average and the one appeal we've had in the past 5 years was found in our favour. Again I am sorry you felt this way about the car you purchased from us, I hope you had no further problems with it. Regards, James
Cars seemed old wrecks bodged back together. wastes your time looking.

Hi, The vast majority of our sales vehicles are less than 10 years old. However our retail workshop deals with older vehicles that we have been maintaining for many years, some as long as 20. Whilst I cannot comment on which vehicles you saw in our yard, anything described as an old wreck may well have been one of our retail customers. A 20 year old Corsa is never going to look particularly up together. We do not deal with new cars, age related marks and dents affect both our sales cars and customers cars. We price our vehicles accordingly, which is why we sell 4 - 5 a week on average. Thanks, James
Bought a car from Cars of Charminster, supposedly had a mot and plenty of work done to it before hand... turns out it hadnt, was a nightmare getting a refund and the owner is rude and arrogant. Would strongly advise to avoid this place if your looking for a car that works longer than a week.

Hi Dave, The vehicle in question was a Citroen C3 Picasso, a category d car which had damage to the rear bumper. You came back to us asking for a refund because you felt the vehicle was not roadworthy. We offered to look at it but instead took it to the ministry of transport to have our MOT appealed. Other than a bulb being blown, the ministry found our MOT result to be correct and stated there would be no further action. You then went to Barclaycard, saying that the vehicle was not road worthy. Again Barclaycard told us that the ministry had deemed the vehicle fit for purpose and no further action was taken. Despite this we still offered as a good will gesture to replace your front brake pads as they were advised on our MOT. This was declined. However our MOT tester recognised the vehicle several months later and asked your partner if she had ever had any issues with the C3 Picasso, she indicated that it had been a very reliable car.
