By far the worst customer service I have ever received! From both a member of the sales staff (Amy) and the Carshop Cardiff General Manager. Rude, disrespectful, and very disregarding of me as a customer. I went in to enquire about a very nice looking Golf, that I found online, and i was met with hostility immediately. First, I was quite forcefully encouraged to take out a finance package, before I even saw the car, and then sighed at when said I would buy outright. When I finally saw the car it looked really nice!! But they then wouldn't let me see the service history, or tell me when the last service&mot was when I noticed an altered lead in the bonnet. The Manager then came over and laughed at when I mentioned selling my current car to my partner instead of them! He then refused to let me test drive the car unless I put down a deposit for the car today!! Stating, "unless you can by it buy the end of the week there's no real point..." I was then told to go test drive a Golf at another garage and come back and buy their car here! When I then complained about their customer service, stating that I felt like I had been treated unfairly and disrespected, the manager proceeded to imply I was the issue, saying "no one else has any issues.." This was a real shame as I really liked the car, but I have been totally put off purchasing from them due to the terrible customer service. I hope it was just a bad day at the office for these 2, and I really hope others don't get the same kind of service I was given.

Completely agree with you, the manager is rude there and dismissive.
If you were conned by the Gardx paint protector product please can you comment.. my son was conned and sold two products in Cardiff shop.

I Know the feeling! I had the same issue when purchasing my car from there! they had to redo mine as they claimed to have done it but never did! The customer service there is shocking, my vehicle was also putting my life at risk with a serious MOT failure!

I've had repeated problems with GardX. I was told they did the job... but they had not - given the state of the car. I pointed this out to the Collector service guy and asked him to report it to the manager. When I returned, there was no hesitation that I had paid for a service that had not been performed. I have now been assured the GardX has been applied - but I'm still not convinced given the water dust marks that were there prior to the application! I'm going to take this further and report this to Consumer Advice.
I have just bought a audi a4 off cardiff carshop. The day i went in to pick up my car it took me 3 hours max. Whilst we were settling last paperworks. Their was no documents with the car or v5. I got told it was all in another branch which is going to get sent out to me. But it is just pathetic that documents are not ready. Also online it said the service history was present. We only received 4 service history their shouldve been alot more. So then after they drove the car out my family member smelt something off the car it smelt like something was burning. I didnt realise till i got home as my head was everywhere rushing off my feet. So it was smelling alot bad when we was home. So i called them up and booked an appointment. I just hope they dont mess me about and tell me that it is burnt clutch and tell me sorry its burnt clutch and we cant do anything about it. If it comes to that i will return the car and get a full refund on every penny even the 50 quid transer fee. The vehicle wasnt even valeted at all. It was just dirty. I got home and opened the boot to get the mats out and it was really disgusting dirty dusty. I was just disappointed. As it was a surprise for my mother.

Went in to Car Shop Cardiff to look at a couple cars I seen they had on the website. After sitting down with one of the sales team and disguising the car I wanted. He asked what sort of mileage I was looking at getting. After responding he looked at me and laughed (thinking I didn't have a clue and the price would be way out of my range). After saying I have already looked at prices for the car with similar millage he kept asking me where I was getting my money from and did not stop pestering me. After having a look around when I was about to walk he tried talking me into getting a basically new version of the car and flooded me with finance deals. Would not recommend.
I already had my eye on a DS5 which Carshop Cardiff had in stock. Turned up to view the car and take a test drive. They did try and sell me an extended warranty and GardX but they did not get pushy when I declined. As a complete surprise they gave me the £300 GardX free!!! A couple of minor problems with the car but they are going to fix these tomorrow. All in all a very happy customer, thanks Tom.

My son bought a car with Cardiff this weekend and the miss sold us two products.. the protective paint gardX we were told it was free and in the price if the car. We asked again and they said it was free. Then when we looked at the paperwork they had added it to my sons finance.. so it was not free everyone needs to check to see if this has happened to them. My sons finance went up by 390.00. I would never recommend carshop to anyone
Avoid Carshop Cardiff at all costs! Pushy, boarder line aggressive sales tactics. Car looked great and would have bought it if it wasn't for the sales guys. Spoke to two sales staff who where very pushy and aggressive. I also spoke to a manager who was just as bad. I ended up buying a similar car at the garage next door!

I visited the CarShop Cardiff showroom and was greeted by a sales assistant, all I wanted was a p,x price for my car against the car I was buying cash. But he kept on about finance, paint protection, seat protection ,gap insurance, extended warranty(the car was still under Volvo warranty. its all about the hard sell for commission .He said the car would be prepared for collection. I came back for the car the next day that took another hour. The really disappointing bit about the sale was I spent £15000. when I got the keys the mats were dirty doors, the mats were thrown in the boot with the old number plates it seemed a bit like take the money and run.ant the chrome covers for the wheel nuts were in the glove box dirty. it seemed like take the money and run.
I told CarShop Cardiff that I was buying my car outright. I was pressed to buy ‘ extras’ I.e. finance, extended warranty, body treatment. I declined all these I said I would pick the car up Friday after lunch. I arrived & was told it would ready in 10-15 mins. I didn’t see that gentleman again. After 30 mins I asked again, only to be told it was going to have the Gardex treatment. They thought I was coming Saturday!!! I had been given to understand when I bought the car that this would take an hour. As I was due for a meeting I decided to waive the treatment & asked for a refund. I was asked if I’d like to come back another day to have it done ( why would I do a 100 mile round trip & waste fuel?) I was late leaving Cardiff & consequently hit rush hour traffic, missed my appointment & the order Thanks Car Shop Cardiff.

Did you pay extra for the gardx paint protector or was it free like they said. My son was sold two products and one was gardx and he was charged £299.00 ..I'm just looking for others that this has happened too
I am very disappointed in this company. I purchased a Toyota Yaris from them as a replacement for my previous car, which was written off when a new driver went into the back of it whilst my wife was driving it to pick up my daughter from nursery. The staff appeared friendly, and it looked like I was getting a good car for a good price. After the accident, safety in a car was a priority for me, so they reassured me that the car had been thoroughly assessed with their 114 point check and had a clear history. As soon as I transferred the money and drove off was when the problems started. 5 minutes after driving away in my new car, thick black smoke started to come out of the exhaust. I immediately returned the car for repair, which they explained as the car being sat on the shop floor for too long. They changed the oil, reassured me again and gave me the car back the following day. The day after, I discovered that the drivers door did not lock. Before I could have this repaired, a piece of the body work fell off whilst driving on the motorway. This car was clearly not checked, and there was no explanation given as to why there were electronic failures or why there was faulty body work. I did not feel safe driving my family around in this car, so I returned it for a complete refund. I notice this same car is back on their website, despite the fact that it clearly has a hidden history. I expected better from a self proclaimed 'reputable' company.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Went in here today as we’d seen a Range Rover discovery sport we wanted to look at. Got greeted at the door who asked for us to come sit down. Slightly annoying as we just wanted to look at the car but went along with it. Asked general details which was fine until we were asked how much we want to spend a month. When I said we wanted to buy the car outright (a combination of savings and bank loan) he was flabbergasted. He then tried to advise us that’s not how we should be spending our money as the car will depreciate in value and asked if we have a mortgage (none of his business). When I said yes he told us we should pay more of that instead and I stated I already pay the maximum I can a year. He then said his car finance rates can match any loan - when I said ‘oh so you can match 2.7% apr?’ He became very sheepish and tried to say Car finance was safer than an unsecured bank loan if anything was to happen to the car- This is not true - car finance does not care if you’ve written off your car and can’t afford payments, you still owe them. He then carries on saying if he had £20,000 he would put it somewhere and take car finance, luckily I’m much more money savvy and know a max savings rate of £1.8% and a massive car finance at approximately 5%+ will leave me financially worse off than just buying as much of the car outright as possible and using a low rate bank loan for the rest. He then asked how long it took for us to save that money- at which point I had completely lost interest in giving him a penny of my money, told him it was none of his business and left. He just lost out on a customer buying a £30,000 car outright - congrats to him. I am incredibly concerned other people who are less financially savvy and less confident will be persuaded that work here. if you do get a bank a loan NOT car finance, they will try and convince you otherwise, that’s how they make their commission. You will be financially worse off
