Blatant liars. They even distance from the colleagues who sell the car for them and even say he or she never work for them. Sales manager behaves like real cowboy
1st Visit: Car Shop to test drive a car after booking online. Arrived and was told no booking on system but car available for test, then informed another car blocking it and they can't find key to remove other car. 2nd Visit: Saw a car on AutoTrade Website turns out it was actually bought/owned by Car Shop Nottingham. Paid £100 to get it transferred to Cardiff for test drive. When car arrived I was not informed straight away (only after I called I found out it had arrived + another of the same model I saw in another branch got brought to Cardiff - for free!). Sales team pleasant but relying on Sytner Reputation & hard sell on their forever free MOT/Same Day Insurance/Road Tax Admin for £169 referred to as Admin Fee/Advantage+. Short test drive even though I mentioned multiple times I wanted longer. Sold GARDX which is expensive but as I was buying nearly new so I accepted this cost hoping it will help keep resale value though told it must be agreed to asap (to allow only 4hrs to apply). Salesman wanted review as soon as agreed to purchase - I said only after car collected and driven for a while. Agreed to 6yr warranty with Les who was pleasant but doing Sales pitch for 30+min. Pick up a week later - Original Salesman no longer interested in spending time answering further questions bcos 'busy' with zero walk-in new customers. Told Les to remove Advantage+ & Warranty - He removed but did try to still sell mentioning cost of repairs etc. After signing dotted line they can't get you out of office fast enough. I am hoping I have no issues with car and glad I did not buy their extras after reading all these reviews on Aftersales Care. I have been told I have 90 days Car Shop Warranty on top of Manufacturers 1 yr so I will wait and see how things transpire. Will come here to update if any issues.
Had a great experience with taj today, he was very polite and didn't bother us at all..took his time explaining the different options and was very patient considering how we asked loads of questions..would definitely use carshop again..much nicer than trade centre Wales who just keep hovering over you .

Sold a car that had been in a crash, after inspection from a Ford mechanic the car front right steering is out of alignment by a lot, drags the car to the right.. mechanic said he would take this off the road.. Paint marks on window trim, read lights from respray… Avoid these pigs at all costs! You’ve been warned. If I could upload pictures I would. Still on going issue so anonymous but currently speaking with trading standards too solve this.

Very valuable lesson was learnt here, to never go anywhere near a CarShop ever again! Chose a car on a Saturday and put down a deposit but it had a rattle which the staff were unable to identify and I was told it would go into the workshop early following week to be resolved. I heard nothing from them and had to go all round the houses to speak to someone as they never answer their phones. One man told me it had been fixed on the Wednesday and that Les would phone me the next day to arrange delivery. When I eventually got hold of Les on the Thursday (he did not contact me as promised), he told me it hadn’t even gone into the workshops yet! So was blatantly lied to. I terminated the sale and am STILL waiting for the £100 refund which Les promised several times. Yes I do have this in writing and no he has still not actioned the refund. My advice, don’t go near them with a barge pole!

Mr Connery in response to Blatantly lied to
Would love to know what car this was as I had a very similar issue with a car that had only been owned by its previous owner for 10 days
AVOID - DREADFUL PLACE Went to Carshop Cardiff looking for a family car, spotted a Mercedes we liked. We noticed there was overspray on the front alloy, a massive diagonal scratch across front emblem and bad fogging/blurred xenon headlight. Car also had slow to retract rear seatbelt and a very tough/stiff clutch. Mentioned this to the used car sales manager Sam, he immediately muttered 'It's going to be one of those days'. He begrudgingly agreed to fix the overspray and driver’s headlight but said the scratch and other issues would be too expensive to fix. He said the clutch being tough is 'just how these models are'. We gave them nearly a week to fix the issues, and on collection spent roughly 40mins attempted to be sold an extended warranty for the vehicle at a cost of an extra £1000. We politely declined this, and went to the collections desk. I queried if the car had been valeted and the girl said 'I don't know, I think so' which didn't give either of us much confidence. I was then handed 3 sheets of badly photocopied A4 paper as the entire service history. I asked where the manual was and was told 'there wasn't one'. The car was driven to the exit and my wife said I should check the agreed work on the front had been done. I could see to my horror literally nothing had been touched. The wheels didn’t even have basic tyre dust caps on them and their handover checklist was completely blank too. We were asked 'What do you want to do'?. We were told all the managers had gone home for the day and there was nobody to speak to. We decided we didn't want to take the car and were shocked as we explained that previously Sam had said the car was currently in the workshop with the issues being worked upon which clearly was a lie. We ended up coming home extremely stressed, with a new keeper slip, over £10k out of pocket and without a new car. What followed was further visits to undo the tax, return the 2nd key and wait very patiently for our money to be returned. Numerous other phonecalls were made to the used car manager who was continually extremely rude and unhelpful on the phone. He decided they now wouldn't fix the headlight as previously agreed as clearly it was too expensive and tried to say the alloy could be fixed at an undetermined later date, excuse for the work not being done was a 'family emergency in the workshop' even though the car was left with them for 4 days. We were going to argue that the agreed work was actually written in black and white on the sales order but in the end myself and my wife agreed that this was no longer about the car, it was about customer service. We had to call them, nobody contacted us, and the only person that eventually apologised was the business manager Les. Instead of communicating with us that the issues couldn't be fixed, they just told us everything was ready and hoped that we wouldn't notice. I'm sure some people will go to Carshop and have a straightforward sale with no issues, but judging by the lack of care and honesty, quality and customer service we can both solidly say that Carshop Cardiff has an extremely long way to come before it becomes a place anyone should go to purchase a car. We are particularly disappointed that Sam's lack of customer care and attitude wasted our time and also the time he wasted of the dealership's business manager Les who despite the longwinded warranty pitch was actually a very pleasant and helpful individual to deal with. We were also assured a call back from the regional sales manager due to our appalling experience, it's September 6th and all of this happened on July 16th, so nearly a 2 month wait with no phonecall. Go figure. We have since bought a new family car the same model in immaculate condition with 20k less mileage on the clock, with full Mercedes main dealer service history and mountains of paperwork with a leather bound manual, and a clutch that is buttery smooth for £500 less with double the free warranty through an independent local dealer. Do yourself a favour, give them a miss! 0/10

Bought and paid for a car last Saturday. Was told it needed to be MOTed and so I couldn't collect it till Monday. It's now Monday and I've been waiting 40 mins already and staff don't know what car I've paid for as, apparently, the staff who took my money didn't process the forms. Am still waiting, along with my 2 year old. It seems that once the carshop has your money they consider their work done.
Darius one of the colleagues at car shop was very helpful, answered any questions and query’s I had about my new vehicle. All staff very helpful and patient. Jon was also a huge help sorting out the GAP insurance on my vehicle along with my finance. highly recommend
DON’T PUT A DEPOSIT DOWN UNLESS YOU FANCY WAITING OVER 4 WEEKS TO HAVE IT REFUNDED. 3 PHONE CALLS SO FAR AND STILL WAITING. CUSTOMER SERVICE ARE A COMPLETE JOKE. 15-20 MINUTE OF BEING ON HOLD IF YOU CHOOSE “EXISTING CUSTOMER” OPTION, 2-3MIN HOLD CHOOSING “NEW CUSTOMER” OPTION. PRICE YOU SEE ISN’T THE PRICE YOU PAY. ADMIN, SERVICE, WARRANTY FEES SOON PUT THE PRICE UP BY A FEW HUNDRED POUNDS. NOT A VERY GOOD EXPERIENCE WITH THEM, THEY MAKE TRADE CENTRE WALES LOOK LIKE GOOD HONEST SALES PEOPLE. WOULDN’T GIVE THEM 1 STAR BUT WOULDN’T LET ME LEAVE 0 STARS.
