Purchased a lovely Lexus from here about 4 months ago - read some reviews online beforehand about the place and they weren't great but it was the exact model, spec and colour we had been looking for and the only available in a 100 mile radius so we bit the bullet and went regardless. Initially it was a smooth transaction, quickly shown the vehicle and took the car out for a test drive. Minor niggles with the car, such as a plastic trim falling off on the passenger side interior handle when I pulled the door shut and a few minor scratches on the bumper. Salesman assured me the handle issue would be resolved but bluntly that the scratches were there to stay as car has already been through prep and it was a 4 year old car so I shouldn't expect too much. I enquired about service history and a spare key, I was told the vehicle would have service history and the spare key was would be in the back and he would double check whilst I completed the transaction. Had the great pleasure of Les Berry completing the financial part of the transaction. Initially the salesman told me there was a £150-250 admin fee (cant remember exact price) to which I said no problem. When Les gave me the set of forms to sign there was the car price + Said fee but it was labelled as something other such as an MOT/Waxing bundle, I enquired about this and asked if this was the admin fee. He explained that it wasn't and that it was an optional package to which I said I wasn't aware of it. He quickly called the salesman back in to which he chastised the salesman infront of my partner and I and quite frankly made us feel uncomfortable and made the salesman look like a bit of a kn*b. He ordered us all out of the room so that the salesman could 'do his job properly and inform of us of what it is he was selling us'. The salesman explained they replaced the admin fee with said bundle and he'd forgot to remove it from the sale invoice - which seemed like a genuine mistake. Did not handle it professionally in the slightest. After entering the office again with Les he tried to offer me the all singing all dancing service & warranty package again even though I had politely declined this twice before he booted us out of the office. He referred to me as an 'resolute man' and couldn't understand why I wouldn't want the package, Patronisingly queried whether I knew the service intervals on a car and what they entail, and stated I would have to buy these regardless so why I wouldnt I want the package? I'd already told him I wasn't interested in the package and that I would pay for my own MOTS and servicing and told him the reason I was buying a Lexus as it has a great reliability record and I don't intend on it breaking down, and if it does on my head be it! It doesn't take a genius to work out if they're offering something for nothing, its a con and given their customer service record it would hardly be a worthwhile investment and one mighty ballache. I appreciate salesman have targets to achieve but for christs sake, don't bully people into buying what they don't want! Would not take no for an answer. Fortunately I don't mind verbal confrontation but for people who don't they would 100% be pressured into it! After finishing the financial smallprints and waiting to receive the I asked the salesman about the spare key (I'd already asked twice at this point) to which he then replied "they didn't a spare for it" or some tripe, so couldn't even be honest from the first instance. He also said that if the car didn't have the service book with it in the back room it but may have been held at their central hub. I also asked what was being done about the dodgy handle and he replied that it wouldn't be fixed there and then as they'd have to order the part in and they would contact me to book the car in when it arrived. I've skipped 50% of this out as I'd be here all day, I've bought many cars over the years but never encountered so many slimy, pushy, lying salesman in my life! all in all it was a terrible experience and 100% would not return. Alas, Just as I expected no phone call to book the car in to fix the dodgy door trim. I haven't been bothered chasing it up as I know it will just be a waste of my time. The only reason I'm giving this one star is that they did manage to send me a copy of the service history about 2 weeks later. Avoid this place like the plague! They'll say whatever they want to get your money, and once you've paid they couldn't give a toss! And if you're not confident enough to say no expect to kiss goodbye to another £500+ on all the shyte they try and sell you!
Tried to return a car today under the 14 day return policy. Spoke to someone in head office who told me it’d be no problem “you’ll leave the show room as you came in”. I then had a call back from the Cardiff showroom who told me to come in the following morning as my part ex was ready and waiting for me and it would be a simple swap. I arrive today to be told I won’t be given my car back as their staff have made the mistake of processing the car into the system. A mistake made by then that now can’t be reversed due to “company policy”. I never would have taken this new car in the first place had I not been advised of their 14 day return policy, I would have gone home and thought it through. Now due to their mistake I am stuck with this car I’m not happy with and am being refused return of my much loved part exchange that I loved. I think this is disgusting treatment to not only waste my time but also leave me in the position due to their own mistake.

BMW purchased at Cardiff CarShop last month. Jamie, the manager said he'd be willing to include the cost of the 2nd key if I gave them a 5* review. This was written into the sale agreement (the key not the 5* review). I'm still waiting for my key after a month of continually chasing the garage for it. I've now dealt with Kelly, Jamie and now Stan at customer services, all assuring me it'll get done! In my humble opinion, paying £19k for a vehicle shouldn't require this much effort for a 2nd key. Understandable if it was a back street garage selling me a £1000 motor. On a positive note, they were pleasant to deal with, up to and including the point of purchase! Overall, a disappointing service as I am still waiting for the 2nd key to materialise. Therefore, a 5* review cannot be left as this wouldn't be a fair reflection of service received.

They say our customers come first!! Really? Bit of advice, just don't bother go elsewhere, part exchange prices are an absolute insult!!! They're all good to you but once you pay for the vehicle that's really the end of it, not bothered about customer after that!! They really are that bad!!! The worst experience I've ever had at buying a xcar

Having initially looked at various dealerships decided to go with the carshop cardiff as I couldn't find the car I wanted anywhere else. First impression was friendly staff who couldn't do enough for you how wrong was I. Once I had signed there general attitude and customer service has been nothing short of disgusting having had the car less than a day there was an immediate fault displaying on the dashboard I tried to contact car shop it took 5 phone calls before anyone responded to then be told to bring the car back, they then said it would have to go to the main dealer as they couldn't fix the problem and said we'll contact you they never bothered I had to phone again to find out when it would be going to the main dealer. After phoning several times I have been informed the car has been sent to vauxhall for repairs and been approved for the work to be carried out that is the last I've heard. Three days later and still haven't heard anything they've promised to contact me they haven't bothered this is a vehicle I've hardly driven and now wish I'd never bought from them there a truly shocking company to deal with
