Was looking to purchase a Renault Kajar for my daughter from Car Shop Northampton, wanted a 2018 model, when we found one that ticked all our boxes, a salesman went to fetch it only to find it had a flat battery, he said it wouldn't be a problem. they jump started it so that we could have a test drive. The dashboard was saying danger/turn off the engine, when challenged the rep said it's not a problem so we went out on a test drive. The warning light eventually went out. When we returned we saw the sales manager to do the paperwork and i put £200 deposit down and said we would be back the following day to finalise the payment and drive it away. We did stress that we wanted the car fully valeted, he agreed to do this. We turned up the following day and were kept waiting for 40 minutes, no one seemed to know where the car was. When they finally brought the car to us we inspected it and to or amazement it was still dirty wirh the door sills not being cleaned the boot surround was still dirty, not a very good job at all. I asked to see the sales manager and was shocked when he came out and said take it or leave it a walked away (very rude) I went after him and told him his rudeness had just cost him a sale. I cancelled the order and told him to refund my deposit. He sat there on his computer and told me it was done and it would be in my bank within a few days. I waited 5 days and no refund. I then rang the car shop and spoke to a lady who took my detais and said it would be sorted. Another 4 days passed and no refund. I rang again and was told the same again. I waited but again nothing. I tried to ring again on 5 occasions but just could not get through so I drove 105 miles to the Northampton car shop and confronted one of the sales guys, he went away to deal with it and came back saying there had been a problem and my refund would be payed within 2 days. Once again nothing was refunded. Once again I drove the 105 miles and got hold of the sales manager, I told him i was fed up with being messed about and wanted my refund immediatly he said that could not be done and it would be in my account within 2 days. I told him that I wanted compensating for all the mileage that i had incured (420 miles) he said he would get something sorted and would ring me. I have finally got my £200 back after 21 days, however i have not received any phone call, apology or compensation for all my mileage. I would not recomend the Car Shop to anyone. Very disapointed with there don't give a dam attitude. I would have been a lot happier had someone higher up would have taken the time to speak with me.

I booked an afternoon appointment at the Northampton Branch for a repair and turned up on time at the time advised by the colleague on the phone. They told me I did not have an appointment booked and said they dont know who booked it and no one is in when I wanted to collect it as the technician was on Holiday. I was not told this over the phone and no-one at the service center was bothered. Contacting customer services, they seemed blunt and rude and did not want to understand my situation. Would not recommend if you have problems with a car they sell you.
Great service from Phil Connolly, very helpful without being too pushy ( which would have put me off completely). Nothing too much trouble for Carshop in Northampton.
Was looking for a Mazda 6 Touring and Carshop Northampton had one at the right price and Northampton is just down the road for me. While the staff were friendly they know nothing about the individual cars. The system is to sell finance products, the cars are just the mcguffin to get you on finance deals. You are not left alone with the car, the test drive is worthless at 2 minutes long. Be sure to insist on taking your time checking the car and don't be afraid to walk away. I found a couple of very minor faults after getting the car home. They are a little low on part-ex valuations but they gave me enough for mine to make it worth avoiding the hassle of a private sale. To be fair, the price for my car was very competitive even with the faults I found. (Rear window spray nozzle missing, sticky latch on folding seats, and tracking needs attention) The staff were friendly and didn't get pushy even when I declined their obscene warranty charges. They're finance deal was so so, but on par for these sort of set ups. Fortunately I can get mine paid off early. If you want a car from them just go in aware that they will know nothing of the car, and just want you to sign a finance deal. If you want any kind of personal service then go elsewhere.
-Friday 14th June 2019- If you’re thinking about buying any car from CarShop Northampton, think smart and read this review. The reason this company has ‘5 stars’ rating, is because they quickly ask their customers to write a review (mostly on Trustpilot and other websites) before they agree to anything like finance etc. Have a thorough read through the reviews and you’ll see what I mean. Don’t trust the most reviews here, read my awful experience review with CarShop Northampton. I will be making a review video on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram to spread the awareness of this CarShop company. I am 20 and passed my driving test when I was 18. I have been driving a Corsa C 2004 for just over 2 years. Unfortunately, it has failed its MOT on Saturday 8th June 2019. The repair costs are not it worth at all and decided to have a look at cars (I've been researching the cars for many months as I love cars - Golf GTD was my next dream car) After few hours of looking at the cars, checking the insurance quotes and comparing the dealerships across my area. My choices were to either buy a car from Saxon Bridge, or CarShop. Both seems to have good reviews, but CarShop's reviews looks too good to be true. On CarShop website, I found a car that I liked and decided to go to CarShop Northampton to have a look at it. My dad drives, so we went together in his car. When we have arrived there, my dad parked his car and we got out of the car. After searching for a specific car that I saw on their website, I spotted it and had a look around the car. When I was finished glancing at the car, we were walking back to my dads car. A staff walked past and asked if we needed any help, I pointed at the car and told that I would like to have a look inside. The staff brought us inside and waited for a staff to see us. We've talked for few minutes and suddenly, he went to the office and grabbed a key for the car I wanted. This was not what I was expecting, but it was nice to feel welcomed this way. However, it feels like a really quick test drive (5 minutes max), which was not enough time to allow me to proper test drive it, for example, testing the steering wheel to ensure its driving straight and not off the centre to the left or right. Although, it felt quite smooth and nippy. After the test drive, we went back inside the store and talked about admin fees, GardX protection fee etc. Then, he asked if I wanted to buy it with GardX protection and I agreed. I've paid a £300 deposit to reserve the car. I was told to come the next day at 1pm to pay off the car as it was closing very soon. On Sunday 9th June 2019, my dad drove me to CarShop Northampton to complete the purchase of my new car. We've arrived there and we had to wait for half an hour for a manager to finish with their customer. It was so busy on that day, so its understandable and I don't blame them for that. Later, I met the manager in his office, he seems friendly and approachable. We've discussed about extended warranty (they only provide 3 months free warranty, compared to Saxon Bridge providing 12 months free warranty). I am not sure if their extended warranty are fairly priced, but I agreed to pay for 3 years, which costs around £900. I am paying it for 10 months - around £86 a month. Once I've paid for everything, I was then told that I had to wait for a further 45 minutes to an hour before my car is ready to drive away. I was a bit annoyed, but again there were lots of customers going around the store so I sat down and waited. Finally, I was informed that my car was ready and walked to the Collection Point. From there, I had to sign some forms and taxed my car. The staff there were calming. After that, the car was ready for me and handed me the car keys. This is where I was from being happy to unhappy, annoyed and a bit stressed. I unlocked the car and opened the door. As soon as I sat in the driver seat, the seat was soaky and a bit musty. I looked around inside of the car and noticed some dirt spots on the passenger seats (it looked like a dried mud). I wasn't having that since I've paid £299 for GardX protection. So, I went back inside the collection point reception and complained to one of the staffs. He apologised about it and I asked them to re-clean it properly. He said that it would take a 'few more hours'...I replied, "That's fine, I can wait". He took the car keys and I sat on the chair waiting. But, literally less than a minute later, he came back and said, "Sorry, you'll need to come back here at different date." I was not very happy about it and he offered me a small paper stating 're-clean' for my car at different date. I went back inside my new car and started the engine. After driving it for about 20 minutes (my house is about 35 minutes away from CarShop Northampton), I've noticed that the steering wheel is off the centre to the left, and this is the main reason why I wrote this review. There were more problems and I listed them down on my phone. -Steering wheel off the centre to the left. If I hold the steering wheel in perfectly straight centre, the car steers right -Sometimes central locking system in the car doesn’t work (have to press multiples time to get it locked or unlocked) -Front and rear windows wiper blades worn out -Boot door plastic trimming sticking out -Front passenger door handle sticking out (possibly snapped/broken) -Front left/passenger side headlight scuffs -GardX cleaning interior not done properly: passenger seat brown spot, back seats white circle spot. I’ve complained at the collection point before driving it off, they offer me a paper to have it re-cleaned at different date. Pictures were taken. I should have done a full inspection of this car before actually buying the car, but it was too late. Few days later, I had time to contact CarShop via live chat regarding these issues. They've noted it down on their system and I drove to CarShop Northampton on Thursday 13th June 2019. When I've arrived there, this staff called Michael.P approached to me and asked me to sit down with him to talk about the problems. This guy was amazing and made me smile. I have a bit of 'OCD', so I always prefer to have everything in perfectly order, so does Michael! After discussing the problems, he went to have a look at the car and booked an appointment for 19th June 2019 to have the car fully checked and re-cleaned. He told me that if they don't re-clean the car properly again, I am eligible for a full refund of GardX £299. He seems to care more than other staffs at CarShop Northampton. So, today is 14th June 2019 and I am still waiting to have my car's steering aligned and re-cleaned. I will re-review after I get my car on 19th June 2019, hopefully everything will be sorted. As you can see, I drove to CarShop Northampton from Milton Keynes on this new car, which costed me fuel money, and I will have to drive there again on 19th June 2019. I will be asking them to cover the fuel costs (doubt they will as they seem to care more about the money than their customers anyway). So guys...be fully aware before you buy the car, test drive the car for more than 5 minutes to see if you like it or the steering wheel is off the centre. Do a full interior inspection as well as exterior. I will be back on here as soon as my car gets 'repaired' on 19th June 2019.

Absolutely would not recommend Carshop Norhampton to anyone. Good when wanting to sell you a vehicle however when having intermittent faults with car customer service decreases a lot. Car been in 5 times in under 5 months to attempt fix. No direct contact with management, no empathy for situation. Very stressful and upsetting situation when car is not able to be fixed and car rejection is not being accepted. Would not advise anyone to spend money here.
We were a little sceptical having read many poor reviews of CarShop on verified review sites. Buying a car is expensive and can be stressful. Greg Lee, who helped me test drive the car, kindly picked me up from Northampton station and then was helpful in sorting out my eventual purchase. This is a large organisation and they can be a little chaotic. We agreed basis of sale, which had to include assurance of posting spare key and map SD card from another site, which wasn't ideal, but it got sorted after a week. I did have to chase it up though and keep on them. All has arrived so sorted eventually and am generally pleased with the car. Lets hope it remains a joy to drive and own. Pre-Sales is very slick, car stock looks good and many to chose from with a nice showroom (comfortable, free drinks etc.) After you have signed on the dotted line, the purchase process does feel like you are grinding through a large clunky, somewhat chaotic machine and then eventually from the calm serenity of the showroom to where you're picking up your keys it suddenly feels like you are sitting in A&E on a Saturday night. Uncomfortable chairs, crowded and now you have to pay for drinks! Having said that, I would use them again. Just be confident in what you are buying and be prepared to walk away if you do not get the deal you want, assurances or guarantees you need or something is not right.

Ollie Stock dealt with us brilliantly, he was courteous, knowledgeable, efficient and he had a sense of humour! We found our ideal car at a great price, would definitely recommend
Carshop In Northampton is the only car retailer I know who won’t let you browse their vehicles without booking in first
I urge people to stay clear of Carshop Northampton, on initial visit the sales advisor came across very nice and helpful, he gave me lots of information and guidance on the car, which I later found out was wrong and he had made a number of untrue claims in relation to the car and the finance. Since having the car I have had nothing but problems and have made a formal complaint to management which stands as unanswers 20 days later, I took the car in for an inspection to be fixed and none of the found repairs by an independent garage was picked up but Carshops engineers. After 21 days of use, the independent garage has identified issues with the wheel bearings and wheel alignment, snapped suspension, an unknown noise from the engine, I later find out that i have actually been mis-sold a finance agreement after specifically requesting a PCP on the vehicle. Please avoid this company no matter what, as it will cost you dearly long term and you will find better customer service at McDonald's.
