we recently visited Carshop Swindon to help my son get some idea of cars available ready for when he is preparing to purchase his first vehicle. We were greeted by a nice young gentleman who asked if we had been there before, which we had because we had purchased a car from here a few years back. He escorted us into the showroom and explained ho w it worked, informed us that all the cars were locked and that if we wanted to look in any we would have to inform him and he would open them for us. We acknowledged this and began looking at the cars, talking amongst ourselves about things. The gentleman followed us around, interrupted our conversations time and time again, which quickly became very annoying and was quite rude. We were just trying to show our son some options, prices etc but the way the sales people have been trained (as it isn't his fault really it is how the company think it should be done, wrong by the way) gives an impression of deep distrust of their customers. why do the cars need to be locked? So that the sales person needs to be on the customer has to rely on them so they can add the extra on the hard sell? It is a horrible feeling being followed this way and was enough to influence our decision to leave and make the choice of not going back to purchase from there. Maybe the way the salesmen/women are trained and asked to behave should be looked at again as it is off putting and I can't imagine that I am the only one who has felt this way about it. Having cars locked is a difficult one, I get it from a safety point and that it helps prevent the cars being damaged but again, it leads to a feeling of distrust. We will not go back and I really wouldn't encourage any of my friends to either, which is a shame as the range of cars is fabulous.
I got a BMW from Carshop Swindon In April. The bloke who took me for a test drive in it was really helpful and was able to answer any questions I had and was very friendly. Would really recommend them. Had no problems with the car at all.

I had no problems at all with Carshop Swindon, The sales process was straightforward and quick, I'm awarding them 4 stars, it would be 5 but they forgot to clean the car before handing it over.

The sale itself was easy enough and the car is running well. I was however disappointed to find out after just 2 months the brakes needed replacing, the car was MOT'd before sale and went under a check so I imagine the brakes would have come up as an advisory at least.

Carshop in Swindon were bang on, friendly decent guys, they gave me the time to look around the car and make sure it was right for me, no pressure to buy or anything, I would definitely use them again they are a good dealership.

My experience of Car Shop was patchy to say the least – some of the service I received was very good, some of it pretty terrible. Unfortunately the bad far outweighs the good. A summary of my complaint is that our brakes needed servicing within 1,400 miles of buying it, which is covered by CarShops’ guarantee, but they are refusing to honour this. Here are details, should you be interested: We bought a car on 4th March 2015 from the Swindon CarShop, and we were pleased to see it had a 3 month service warranty. When my wife collected she was advised that the computer registered the next service due in 14,000 miles, which seemed sensible. The car did give us a low tyre pressure warning on the first long distance journey we took it on, we stopped and did the necessary checks, phoned CarShop who were helpful, apologetic and offered a Halfords appointment to us. But we were advised a system reset was all that was needed and we were able to do this ourselves, so we were happy and the issue has not resurfaced since. Before long the car computer indicated a service was now due – the service countdown actually started at 1,400 miles when sold, not 14,000. It should have had a full service before purchase, so I was not worried and presumed that the CarShop engineers had forgotten to reset the computer after completing their vehicle checks. Upon phoning CarShop again, they came to the same conclusion and made an appointment for us to return to CarShop for a reset. We arranged to travel back to Swindon, by which time the computer was saying it should have been serviced well over 1,000 miles ago. The engineer reset the computer, but on our inspection it had just originated back to how we had bought it – service in 1,400 miles! Upon returning to CarShop again, they checked again and we were informed that the brakes are due for service – but the engineer was going home and couldn’t do anything that night. We ended up agreeing to getting a follow-up call from Customer Services. Customer Services did call, but said that although the timeframe was within the 3 month period, as we had clocked 3600 miles since buying they could no longer help. I tried to explain the original problem was when we had done no miles what-so-ever. He insisted that he had records to say that the car did not have a 1,400 miles countdown on it when we bought it. It was very exasperating given that was the very reason we had previously travelled to Swindon. When I phoned the CarShop to get the computer reset I had also done less than 3,000 miles – no matter what way it was looked at we should have been covered. We asked if his manager/supervisor could call us back so we could try and resolve the issue, but that was over 4 weeks ago. We sent a follow up email a week ago even letting them know we were going to post this review, but no one wants to help. The car has travelled very little since, I have no confidence in the brakes – we still don’t even know what’s wrong with them. The most concerning thing to me is that it’s possible that the brakes needed servicing before it was sold to us and the computer was simply re-set (only possible, but it’s a bit of a coincidence that it needed a service in 1,400 miles after they reset it and it needed a service in 1,400 miles when we bought it). You normally trust a big company/dealership, which is one of the reasons they appealed to me. I would certainly advise against buying through CarShop given our difficulties, we actually feel quite cheated.

My experience here was last at the end of 2014 where I ended up buying a Kia from Carshop Swindon. When I was looking around and even once I found the car I wanted I thought the customer service in my opinion was really good. The staff who I came across were really nice people to deal with, they all knew what they were talking about, not over ambitious, not pushy, relaxed in their manner towards me and let me choose what I wanted. As you can tell I am really happy with the service

I thought I would leave a review for Carshop after having a great experience whilst purchasing my new car. The name of the salesman escapes me now but he was brilliant and made the whole process as easy as possible. I have already recommended them to my friends! I only marked a 3 for the value for money question because I got it on finance but without that it would have been a fair price.

I would definitely recommend this dealer! Couldn't of done any more if they had tried. Everything happened so quickly so there wasnt enough time for something to go wrong! Love the car too.

On purchasing my car in November 2014 I can tell you that first of all the car I have runs perfectly. The price I paid most importantly was right for what we was looking for! Carshop Swindon were very helpful throughout and made everything really easy. Overall, great dealer and for that yes I recommend Carshop
