Well i have to say the way the car shop have dealt with my daughter buying her first car is nothing short of a complete disgrace. Bought the car at the end of September with 3 Month warranty . Over the course of the first 8 weeks had the car back in with problems at least 3 times with constant dashboard light problems and also needed a new exhaust. The car shop said it was because the car had been stood a while during lockdown but all problems would be sorted with the warranty ? Over the first two months my daughter did no more than 120 miles in the car and with all the issues we demanded an extented warranty which they obliged with another month. The dash board lights problem was still not resolved when the warranty ran out and again it had to go back in for another diagnostic check just a week after the warranty ran out to which we were told it needed to go to Ford to be repaired at a cost of nearly £700. As you can imagine we were not happy but car shop said it wasnt their problem so we had to pay . Collected the car and still the dashboard light issue still wasnt sorted so called ford 20 minutes after collecting the car and was told it would need another check and would need to be paid for . Car shop would not engage in any dialogue even though they had sent the car to ford to be repaired . Another cost of £300 for another fault found by Ford only 20 minutes after the car had been repaired was confusing to say the least . We had no choice but to have the work carried out as it was dangerous to drive . Again we went to car shop to complain that we had on going issues with the dashboard lights from day one but their response was its out of warranty now so there is nothing they can do . There was clearly a problem with the car from day 1 that never got resolved and to say we have had to pay £1000 just a few months after buying a car for over £4000 when we reported the issues straight away is disgusting. We are seeking further advice on this matter . Please beware of the car shop its no more a guarantee than a private purchase of a bought as seen car !!!!

Try to sell cars which don’t match description! Incompetent ‘sales managers’ who know nothing about the car there trying to sell. Quick to take your money and try to scare you into buying worthless extras!
After lots of emails, discussions with Wakefield branch. I am sending this to say We bought a car, we got extended warranty. No use at all. WE ARE DISGUSTED AND YOU HAVE NOT HELPED AT ALL. WE WILL NEVER COME TO YOUR BRANCH. AND IF PEOPLE LOOK AT THIS, I WOULD ADVISE THEM NOT TO! NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS AFTER 4MONTHS.... NOT THAT ANYONE SEEMS BOTHERED! ADELE WILKINSON

Called in to The Car People in Wakefield to look around their stock for a nice Exec saloon car. Part exed my BMW 5GT for an Audi A8 which was at a great price. I'm normally the first person who nit picks and goes into full Victor Meldrew mode but my experience was hassle free and stress free. They offered me a fair trade in value on my Car (£2K more than Stratstone had the previous week) and the A8 I bought was about £3K below market value. On the Financing their first offer was at a ridiculous interest rate but that will be how they make a large proportion of their profit not on the actual Car selling process which I think the general public probably assume. Like any business transaction you have to reach a deal and be satisfied what you are committing to. I told Adam (the sales guy assigned to me) what I would be happy with in terms of repayments and after a few to's and fro's we agreed on a rate that I was happy with and done the deal. On the negative I had to change the remote battery after a week but that is hardly something to complain about and as it was working fine at the time not something anyone could have anticipated. Apart from that I have had zero negative experiences from them. They even went through all the documentation including putting my private plates on retention for me whilst I was in there. Even the handover was calm and patient and they bluetoothed my phone for me to the car before I set off. I personally would happily go back.

Placed £300 on a car to secure a deposit on a car via a finance agreement called PCP. The credit check carried out my score 996 out of a 1000 and labelled very good. Agreed on monthly payment of £127:00 a month over 3 years On the same evening I carried out my own credit check. It is made available and works on a descending scale. To achieve this you input the price you get for your part exchange and this is then taken from the price of the car. You then Input the number of years in my case 3 and then click on your credit rating in my case very good. However there was another option after Very Good called Excellent , for purely a maths test I gave myself an excellent. The cost per month reduced to £94:00 . I wrote to them asking what score you had to have to get excellent as my credit score would be 1000/1000. I never got a reply. I visited the Sheffield branch and asked the question is 966 very good or excellent. Excellent was the reply. I then took my complaint back to Car shop Wakefield. After a heated conversation and a threat to cancel the business my credit score was given excellent and my finance dropped from 9.9% to 4.9% and my monthly payment went from £127 to £94 saving £33 a month x 37 monthly payments. I would say if people have allowed the dealers to do their sums and not done their own credit check there is a good chance your going to be out of pocket. I was going to be over a £1000 overpaid. There is no scale of points to % financial decrease / increase it is purely what they can get away with and must be in breach of financial miselling. Having sorted my payments out I agreed on the vehicle Saturday 13:10:2019 and arranged my insurance , surrendered my V5 and cancelled my old insurance. I also paid £140:00 for the new tax disc. I completed all the paperwork and paid for added protection., including paint and interior protection and a insurance payment for GAP this was added to the loan on the car which was then increased by 4.9% interest. PCP over 3 years requires an estimation of your milage. Mine was 10;000 a year 30:000 any excess over this was charged at 9p per mile. Having fully understood this I was shown to my vehicle given the full technical check of the vehicles instrumentation. Upon the handshake got in the car adjusted the seats and side mirrors started the car up selected the indicators and saw a massive problem. They were selling the car with 7300 miles on the clock and it had 10800 on it. I immediately stopped the car and took back my complaint. I was offered a £250 discount. Whilst my sales manager tried to be honourable his hands were tied by some person higher on the pay roll who never came to apologise and would not budge. I cancelled the deal on a 6 month 19 plate car I considered 10800 double the average and it required a service. I had 3500 mile off my estimated milage and there was more wear and tear on the tyres. I spent the next two hours re arranging my insurance my V5 is stamped with the car shops markings and I have paid the road tax on one of their cars which this evening stands on their forecourt . I have my own car back but at the moment £440 out of pocket. The Car People Wakefield are not fit to trade neither arrange finance.

WARNING: anybody thinking of buying a car from Car Shop at Wakefield are advised to hear our experience. My son wanted to part-exchange his Kia for a Nissan Duke and was offered £1,800 for it. We shook hands on the deal and paid a £300 deposit to secure the new car. Within seconds of my paying the deposit, we were informed they were altering the offer for the Kia. In the end they offered £800 and agreed to increase it to £1,000 for the "inconvenience" caused on their part. Against my better judgement, we went ahead with the purchase because my son was keen on the new Duke but I would not recommend anybody using this company.
