1/ Tried to contact The Car People Wakefield regarding a GAP insurance I had taken out when purchasing a car from them. Ended up having to visit them in Wakefield. 2/ Tried to contact them because they had registered the vehicle in the wrong name. Returned to Wakefield with incorrect paperworks with a request that they reregister the vehicle. Still waiting for correct paperwork. Have tried phoning and they never answer the phones no matter what time of day you try. This is the last purchase I will ever make from this company!
Bought a Peugeot 308 from The Car People Wakefield in March, chips to the bodywork not done before picking the car up. Electrical faults which they put right. Particle filter blockage two weeks after buying the car leading to lose of power and cruise control. They attempted to correct the issue once with effect. But the filter blocked again after 2-3 weeks. I took the car back again and they agreed to price up a new filter. The loan car was filthy inside, I mean a complete mess. Which they took back to valeting to be cleaned up. Upto date they have not corrected the issue irrespective of the amount of of phone calls and emails I have sent them. I am now having to take it to the citizens advice and possible court if needed. Irrespective of speaking to the head office or customer service, they just email the Wakefield branch who don't contact you. Very poor service and I seriously would never use them again, despite previously buying several cars from them in the past. Seriously, all you could here at the service desk from other customers was disgust and dismay. Be advised, steer clear of this branch and the company. The Motoring Ombudsman state that this company is not registered with them. Look elsewhere for your car, local if possible

Very disappointed with the Car People in Wakefield. Test drive car saturday, Reserved by deposit on monday, asked to collect 18.00pm on Thursday. 17.45 Thurs arrived asked to have coffee someone will be with us shortly. 18..30 still waiting, told manager busy will soon be with us. 18 50 partner goes to see if car in collection zone ,No, it's still on forecourt For Sale , not even prepared. To!d one of staff. 19.30 still waiting car, Only to be told mechanics gone home can't change number plate can we return Friday. Left feeling so angry, disappointed and with NO CAR. 2 hours wasted. Will Not go to car people again and will NOT be recommending. Will get another car at a dealership that deserves our hard earned money, for a car. It may cost more but worth it for shocking service at car people.

Purchased a vehicle from The Car People, Wakefield, October last year. Just came to change a wheel only to discover there are no tools at all to enable me to do this. In addition there is no locking wheel nut and no code to even purchase a new one. Customer services state I signed for the car which includes all of the above. So beware, check that all the tools and locking wheel nuts and the codes are with your vehicle before you sign and drive it away. I would have expected a better service even after nine months. Will never purchase a vehicle from this company ever again.

We bought our ford kuga from The Car People in January 2019 and in March the car was towed back to Wakefield, during this process the towing eye cover was lost.I have been repeatedly phoning since April as to the loss of the above,It is now July and I am still waiting for the replacement. The promised return phonecalls from the customer care team don't happen and there are various phone numbers to call them problem is no one answers. I wish i could say that the after care is as good as when I wanted to purchase a vehicle but I find this care appalling and therefore would not recommend this company

my husband and i went to view a car at The Car People in Wakefield and they were very polite we liked the car but as soon as the deposit was paid we was very disappointed in their attitude with false promises to call us we ended up having to ring them every time long story short in the end we pulled out of the deal because we did not get the call backs and we are still waiting for our deposit to be returned to us again we was promised a cal back to say it had been returned still waiting for a call back a week later do these sales people want to sell cars if they do they need to treat customers with respect

I recently purchased a car from The Car People Wakefield, which developed issues on my way to work on the 19th June. I called customer services and was told not to drive the car and they would recover it, and provide me with a hire car, as they didn’t have any loan cars available. The car was recovered but I was left at work 50 over miles from home. I had to get two buses and 2 trains home. I was called later that day to say the car was ready for me to collect, but there was no way I could get from my home again over 50 miles back to the showroom to collect my car. I was promised the car delivering, and after numerous phone calls someone would contact me to arrange a time. After several days of making several phone calls and promised a call back on each of these occasions, and wasn’t. I arranged the car being delivered 28th June, over a week and a half after it was ready, purely due to the fact the call back promised did not happen. The car failed to turn up on 28th June, so I called back, and was promised the car being delivered on 29th June. The car still did not turn up. No phone call or explanation as to why it wasn’t delivered. It is now the 4th July and I am still without my car. I’ve tried calling everyday since, to find out where my car is and when it is being delivered, again at lease 3 to 4 calls a day for over another week to find out what is happening, and I am still in the dark and waiting for calls back. I simply don’t know what more I can do to get reunited with a car that I am paying for, but can not use. This is causing significant inconvenience, due to the fact I travel so far each day for work hence needing the car, and the mental health of the stress of not knowing what is happening, and the amount of lies I am being told and the all the promises that are repeatedly broken.

I bought a ds4 crossback stating the most important thing for me was fuel efficiency and sat Nav. The sat Nav never worked from day one. Why did their inept staff not check this before placing it on sale?! It took over 3 months for the issue to be resolved via citroen, meaning I was using a tom tom in that time. I then found out the ds4 won't allow postcodes to be typed in...only streets via towns! The service was great when selling but when a problem occurred, they were the worst company I've ever dealt with. 3 months into ownership, the service light came on and I was told that I would have to pay £130 for this! I've bought cars for under £2000 that came with a full service prior to collection and for them to give me this news just sealed the deal that I'll never go to them for a car again! Why is a car being sold at this price not being sold with a full service??? If I could give The Car People in Wakefield less than one star I would.
