Went to test drive a few cars yesterday & everyone at The Car People in Wakefield was so polite & nothing was too much trouble for any of them. I got a Guy called Scott who took me on test drive, down to earth & up for a laugh, that's what I like when I visit places like this. Nothing was too much trouble at all. Then I was having a chat with IRFAM & again really welcoming shaking my hand & he did a good Job sorting everything out for me & making sure I understood the information. Fantastic all round really lovely staff & polite. Also spoke with Hayley today, she did an amazing job talking me through things I didn't know how to do. Would definitely recommend anyone going to car people, for courteous service all around from everyone & nothing any trouble for any of the staff. Fantastic & well done.

I bought a car from The Car People, Wakefield. Drove it approx. 2 miles and warning lights came on. I've now found out that the car's clutch needs replaced and there are possible/probable gearbox and engines issues. I contacted The Car People (Dave Stevenson), who seemed to find the situation funny, to be told it has nothing to do with them. Currently seeking legal advice as court action seems to be the only way to resolve this farcical situation. They would have received no stars, but that's not possible. Don't touch. You have been warned!

The Car People company is a BIG CON. We went to see a Seat Leon potentially to purchase. The salesperson when going through the financial details highlighted a Total Price on the screen which we understood to be the price we were going to pay. We tried negotiate with the the price which they refused to budge on. We then agreed to stick to the price displaced on the screen. At that point nothing was said from the salesperson. We were passed on to another person to take the payment. The price that was asked to pay was a lot more than what was agreed upon earlier. We explained this to the person dealing with the payment but he was not having any of it. The lady that was the salesperson that dealt with us earlier came and apologised to us and admitted that she was at fault and that she did not clarify the price properly. We insisted that we are only going yo pay the amount that was agreed upon and not the inflated price. They would not budge on the price at all. Going to purchase this car was supposed to be a happy joyfully experience but in reality it was a disappointing and a shambles of a day. The Car People staff in Wakefield are not even up to date with there own policies. The have a very poor customer service. There slogan states that it is hassle free with them, it us not hassle free, I have never had as much hassle as I did with The Car People at Wakefield compared to any other car dealer. All they are interested in is your money. It does not matter how many times they feed you with fraudulent information, they do not give a toss. I strongly recommend everyone not to purchase cars from The Car People.

Bought a car in early January from The Car People Wakefield, still waiting for problems to be rectified, being ignored and the car has serious safety issues. The vehicle has been back in twice to Wakefield site and been allowed to leave twice with serious issues. Brakes grinding and squeaking, suspension D bushes need replacing (have been told by the car people they just need lubricating) have spoken to the main dealer and been told that is the worst thing you can do to them. Massively out of pocket due to having to take time off work to sort issues that aren’t being sorted, but the customer service team aren’t interested. Disgusted that the car has been back twice and been brushed under the carpet when the issues are so serious, Disgusting customer service

Went and viewed a golf at The Car People in Wakefield and was told only one key ask if this could be checked 3 times was told only one key so after paying deposit ordered spare key from Volkswagen at a cost of 250 pounds to turn up to collect car kept waiting around then low and behold 2 keys turn up so cost me an extra 250 pounds because could not be bothered to check properly defo would not deal with again.

Stay well clear! The C ar People Wakefield will rip you off and endanger your life! I purchased a car from The Car Peoples Manchester branch a few weeks ago. After taking delivery of the car I noticed among other issues that the seat belt was worn and frayed. I was a bit concerned by this as you know a seat belt if a vital safety device. I was sceptical that this car had passed its MOT or even undergone the advertised 8 point check. They assured me that is was fine and begrudgingly I was sent on my way. After sleeping on it and a little bit of Googling I had my doubts that this should have been allowed to pass MOT. I contacted that Car People again and in addition contacted a number of other garages with images of the belt to get some additional opinions. The results are 2 garages said its an out and out MOT fail and 3 said it was at least an advisory. I have contacted the car people about this and they are not responding. So, the car people have not only sold me a car that is not safe but have falsely provided a MOT for this vehicle and once confronted with this information cant be bothered to respond to me. The customer service is no existent and the cars they are selling are dangerous. Buyer beware!

I purchased my 3 year old Skoda Octavia from the Car people Wakefield. From the word go taking my old car in for part exchange down to fitting my personalised number plates. I received excellent service from reception and all concerned. I would definitely recommend The Car people and wish to thank everyone at The Wakefield showroom. Kind regards Geoff

Very friendly and helpful on reception Olivia did an excellent handover, considering we had a few problems.The mot hadn't been done and the car hadn't been valeted very well if at all.After waiting around for over an hour for the mot we were on our way or so we thought, driving to the nearest garage for fuel the eco stop start wasn't working and the clutch was making some noise so we went back to the car dealership. After waiting around for another 10 to 15 mins we were finally on our way.I would recommend buying a vehicle from the Wakefield branch despite the hiccups we had as they couldn't apologise enough and rectified the problems.

The car mysteriously developed a dent from viewing to collection, after a tirade of excuses they said it would be fixed, on returning the car some days after they said it couldn’t. Will not be purchasing from The Car People again.
