If I couldn't leave a 1 star rating I wouldn't that is how bad my experience has been with my faulty car that Car People are now refusing to fix. What makes it worse you know this car was sold faulty from the start as a private engineer has stated this and has had to tell you what was wrong with car and how to fix it after you had it back 3 times and had no idea what was wrong with it and just washed your hands of it. This has now gone to the Ombudsmen. Your customer service is shocking. I've bought all my cars from you but after this never again and will be making sure that people are aware of how bad you've been dealing with this.

I purchased a vehicle from Car People in Wakefield recently. During sales negotiations I raised a number of issues about the vehicle to include a large dent in one of the doors, a tyre that was on the legal minimum and a slightly discoloured bumper. The sales adviser promised that the dent would be repaired in full but charged for a new tyre and also for its fitting. Whilst not being entirely happy with this, I paid the amount requested as I wanted the vehicle. The sales person also advised that the car came with two keys and the sales details claimed that the car had a full service history. After taking possession of the vehicle it became clear that the dent had not been repaired properly, there was no second key and the car in fact had only 2 services in its log book out of the 4 it should have had. When these issues were raised with car people they refused to finish the dent repair in the door and claimed that I was lying about the second key (despite having a witness). They also claimed that they had never said the car had a full service history despite me being in possession of a sales document clearly claiming that the car had a full service history. To make the situation worse the bumper has significantly yellowed since taking possession of the car which would point to some clever masking through polishing whilst on sale. The car has also now developed a tyre pressure fault. The Car people have clearly deceived me on a number of issues to make a sale and have not been truthful regarding the vehicle having a full service history. The matter is now with Trading Standards. Do not buy a vehicle from these people and do not believe any assurances or promises the sales team make to you in order to close a deal. AVOID.

Stay clear conned out of a repair they wouldn’t honor.
I have to admit that buying process with The Car People in Wakefield was real pleasure; this feeling lasted just few days after purchase. Unfortunately you will quickly learn how bad this company can be if your car starts showing any issues after purchase (or maybe after you start noticing them). I’ve spent over £11,000 on the car, just 3 days later after my first motorway journey I noticed that there is huge noise and vibration coming from the back of the car, and as well car is drifting/pulling to the left. Reported this to The Car People and they schedule visit to check the faults, 5 days wait, on the day mechanic confirmed that this is most likely caused by damaged tyres. Apparently they could not do any more this day and had to schedule different date, a bit disappointed as it means driving with the issues for another 2 weeks. 2 weeks later I dropped the car to them on the morning and got courtesy car with faulty fuel gauge constantly indicating empty no matter how much fuel you put in, such a fun when you have guess and worry how far I can get. The Car People service manager rang me with the update that car has to stay overnight as they had to order new tyres, they knew for 2 weeks that they will need them!!! Next day on the evening I went to pick it up and find out that new tyres are cheap budget tyres instead of premium Goodyears I purchased vehicle with. When I stated to service manager that I’m not happy with this he start coming up with excuses that these were only tyres they were able to order at the time, what a pathetic lie!! I asked him about issue with drifting/pulling to the left and he confirmed that this is sorted now (despite the fact that The Car People did not carry out wheel alignment which I have asked for when I left the car with them), they confirmed that car was tested and all is perfect now. So in two days they only changed the 2 tyres, balanced the wheels and swapped front and back wheels over (my local tyre shop can do it in 40 minutes). No other work has been carried out, and nothing at all has been done to find and fix the issue causing the tyre damage!!! Unsatisfied I took the car back as I needed it for the weekend, less than 2 miles in to the journey home when going over 40-50 mph loud rattling started to come out from the front right wheel, as well the car still has been pulling to the left. Clearly car was not tested all!!! Immediately I rang The Car People, just to hear out standard apology, they refuse to check the car next day and I had to wait another week just to be able to demonstrate the fault to them!!! During the wait I’ve got in touch with sales manager to discuss the budget tyre issue (I’ve requested from them to install similar quality tyre to the one I’ve purchased car with) and lack of the wheel alignment being carried over. He refused to do it, stating that they (The Car People) are not obligated to use same quality component, and the fact that the tyre they supplied is far inferior to the original one in the safety ratings didn’t bother him at all, and we talking here about 2 car lengths in the wet weather worse!!!! While waiting for my appointment I’ve send formal complaint to The Car People. Unfortunately I had to cancel the appointment due to family problems, when I rang them they told me it’s fine and offer to reschedule, I told them that I’ll ring them to do it as I was busy with family issue. Few days later I received reply to my letter from sales manager at The Car People Wakefield in which he refused any of my claims and he stated that due to the fact I have not made the appointment he consider that this matter is concluded!!! This is just discussing act of preying on my family wellbeing, showing that TCS will use anything to save themselves few quit and rob you of it. At this point I really do not want to have anything to do with this company, they approach is showing how much they do not care about their customers, to save themselves less than £100 on tyres and 40 minutes of work to align wheels on my car they compromised my family safety (safety rating of the tyres) and completely ignored the fact off all inconvenience they caused, I’ve driven the car with issues for over a month and they decided to tell me to f.off.!!! So potential buyers please be aware of guaranteed hassle if your new expensive car develop any faults. Go somewhere else as you are not worth of all the stress.

I purchased a Peugeot 307 from here back in August. The car was clean and in good condition and up to now I have had no issues with the car at all. The dealers were helpful and friendly and the car was a really fair price. I would recommend this dealership.

The car is absolutely bang on! Very good service and aftercare. The car needed to go back in because a spring snapped but they sorted it out for me quickly and efficiently. The car was a good fair price. I would recommend this dealership, definitely.

I bought a Mazda from The Car People Wakefield a few months ago and I would recommend them! The car is really nice. There was a small scratch on it but when I asked them to get rid of it they did no problem. I have have not had any issues with the car and the sales team have been really helpful. Really good dealership.

From start to finish the whole process was very quick and very easy and the sales team were helpful. My only qualm was an issue with the interior and being a new model The Car Shop weren't equipped to deal with the problem so I ended up taking it to a Ford garage. Otherwise I was very happy with the service and would use them again if they had the right car.

The customer service at the car people was really good, they were very welcoming and talkative, they listened to my requirements and gave me some great advice. There was a slight delay with the finance but they kept me updated on the situation until it was resolved.
