I've purchased my gorgeous A Class from Cartime last November on a part exchange offer. The process was fast and the sales executive explained everything to me in detail. The staff are all friendly and go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. From full warranty packages to GAP insurance they made sure all areas were covered.

I have just purchased a new car from Cartime and they were extremely helpful. The service was fantastic and they were very helpful. I purchased on finance and the process was very easy and they took my old car in as a part exchange. I also took out the six year warranty. Thank you for all of your help - I'd highly recommend!

We bought a car from this company on 14 July 2020. We were forced to agree to have the money, £12700 refunded to our account on 2 days later ( read full story below). The money took exactly one month to be put back into our account by this company. I will add at this point, that anyone buying a black Evoque reg. number SV16 VWN, the EGR unit has failed and this will cost you around £500 to replace. Cartime instructed a mechanic to 'clean' the unit so it would appear to be ok....temporarily. Here is the full sad story; Saturday July 11th. we went to look at a range rover Evoque in at Cartime Rochdale. We saw an Evoque we liked , but is was manual transmission, and we wanted automatic. They told us they had exactly what we wanted, but at their other showroom. They arranged to have it brought to their showroom on Tuesday 14th July afternoon at 4pm, and we would buy it , they would take our Citroen Cactus in part exchange. I will add that, the cactus is a uk car that we exported to france, so has a french registration. We arrived at 4pm Tuesday, and the car was not there, and Liam informed us they were reducing the amount they were going to give us in part exchange, angry but had to agree to a lower amount. One hour later the car eventually arrived, the tyres were old, it had not been cleaned and there was an 'engine problem' light on the dashboard. So we told Liam and Paul (manager),we were not taking the car in that condition. They said they would have the work done, and we could pick it up on Wednesday. We went there Wednesday (80 kilometers each way), the car looked perfect and we bought it. On the way home the engine light came on again. We phoned the salesman and told him. The next morning we took it to a local garage to have a diagnostic on the engine. He told us the EGR unit had failed, we were advised us not to drive it very far. as it may go into limp mode, nice surprise if we had been on our way back home to France. Paul, the manager agreed that the garage could order the part and repair the problem. So, Friday 17th, we arrived at the garage 8.30 am and were told the part had arrived, and it was the wrong part, so we waited for the right part to be delivered.. We waited 2 hours. Suddenly our Cactus arrived at the garage, driven by the salesman who sold us the Evoque, we were shocked. He told us we had tried to defraud the company by telling them our car had never been in an accident, and that they would not buy our car at the price they had given us. They had entered the original UK registration onto the internet and it showed the car had been an insurance write-off before we bought it, so we could pay them an extra £3000 or they would take the Evoque back. My husband and I and were stood in the middle of a busy street , stunned. When we bought the Cactus we checked it on the internet and there was no problem. Luckily I had kept the original invoice and the online check, and showed them to Liam, he told me they were fraudulent documents given to us by the company we bought the cactus from. Paul told me that we had signed a form to say the car had had no accident so Cartime could sue me for fraud. So, we were forced to sign over the Evoque and take the Cactus back. I cannot explain to you how shocking this all was, I fainted on the garage forecourt , while we were the centre of speculation for a large group of onlookers, we felt like criminals. That evening, my son asked me to give him the old uk registration number for the Cactus, which I gave him from the original purchase invoice, and the V5 green slip (which Liam had made a photocopy of). He did an online check , and it came up clear!!!! Our cactus had never had an accident, then we saw that the online check made by Cartime had done was for a different registration number , unbelievable. Our cactus had a registration number MK66 KUW, they had checked a car with a reg number MX66ZCN, a car that had been in a bad accident. We have now found out why. The place we bought the cactus from had given us a warranty book for the wrong car, and this warranty book belonged to a car with the registration MX66ZCN. None is our fault, we simply wanted to buy a car, Cartime failed to ensure the car was in a saleable condition, and the original garage where I bought the cactus from, made a big error by putting the wrong warranty book in the wrong car. If due diligence had been followed and Cartime had checked the VIN numbers, or the V5 slip, instead of a hand written scrawl in the front of a warranty book, there would have been no problem. Wish I could give this company a ) rating. They really have no concern for customers.

I bought a Jaguar XF from Cartime almost 2 years ago. Pre-sale they were great, couldn't do enough for you. 2 years on my car developed a fault and as we had paid £2000 for 6 years servicing, MOT and a warranty that according to the salesman covers "everything" we wanted to make a claim. It was then that we discovered that the warranty had never been sent out, we only had the proposal. Getting in touch during Covid wasn't easy. Numerous phone calls went unanswered and weeks later when the calls were being diverted I finally got an answer and a call back where the lady said she would email the warranty booklet that afternoon. 3 weeks later and despite many phone calls, nothing received. Try making an official complaint? No chance as the email address that they supply on their complaints section is invalid! Bury trading standards next for me. Avoid Cartime!!!
Avoid this dealership! Long story short, after a botched and time consuming sale which required me to keep going to Bury (I should have known at that point not to trust these folks), I was sold a car which I was told had been taxed and that the DVLA would be sending me the registration certificate in a few weeks (all this information was given to me in writing). None of this was done and I had the vehicle clamped by the DVLA as it hadn't been taxed (I was left without a car for two weeks as a result) and also found out that the DVLA never received any documentation of the sale and the car was not in my name two months later..! Lies after lies on the phone and through emails that it had all been sorted when it hadn't, and I am still waiting for the clamping fee to be returned to me 2 months later. They also managed to sell me the 3 year warranty package but knowing the lying unprofessional people they are, I would definitely not trust them with any work on the car or any information given to me. I am trying to have that 3 year package cancelled and refunded to me as I want nothing to do with them anymore. I should have read the reviews on here before purchasing a car from them.

Never again ... Cartime are the worst ever! The initial contact was great, super helpful and very encouraging. So when I was told the car would not be ready for the Monday so could i come in Tuesday i explained i would have to book a day off but it should be ok. Later I get a phone call ron the sales rep (Lee Kennedy) apologising and saying that due to unforeseen circumstances it would now be Wednesday. Again I explained that this would mean another day off work and I needed assurances the car would be ready. Assurances given so next day I took a taxi next morning costing me £45 and went to pick up the car. Again all seemed ok, paper work was completed and then the pressure was applied to take out a 6 year service cover which I denied despite the continual pressure. At this point i was then told the car has had to go back to the garage as a problem had been highlighted. I was told it would be an hour and that I should go get something to eat and they would cover the receipt. Two hours later they had failed to call me so I made my way back only to be told to wait another hour and by way of apology they would give me a letter of guarantee for a service and MOT on the cars next due date. Two hours later and Lee is trying to push me to go home and the car would be delivered to me with a full tank of petrol. The next day I spoke to Lee in the morning and was told the car had left the showroom in it's way to me. Six hours later and still no car and Lee always unavailable to talk. Eventually after about 8 calls he told me to listen to him and stop making a fuss and that the car had left 20 mins ago (2pm). Half an hour later another rep called me apologising for the delay and that the car was ready to leave. By this point I was totally fed up and told him that they were a bunch of liars and that if my car did not arrive by 6pm I would turn up at the showroom and make a fuss. Finally the car turned up around 5.45pm, no full tank as promised, no letter authorising free service and MOT, no mention of the £100 holding fee that I had been promised would be back in my account the next day and the issue that supposedly created the delay still unresolved. Subsequent phone calls regarding the £100 owed was met with 'its being sorted out'. Over a week later I'm still waiting for my money and an apology for the disgusting treatment. Never again ... I would urge anyone tempted to buy from them to think very carefully.

I bought Renault Clio in March 2019 LY16 BXH from Cartime, which was advertised as having full service history; however, when I went to pick up my car, the sales person told me that the service book had been misplaced and they would post it to me within seven working days. It was many weeks later when a received a service history (as it had been sent to the wrong address), but it was for a different car. As you can imagine, I have been really unsatisfied with Cartime’s customer service. I have been very patient and reasonable, but it has been three months now and still have not received the correct service history. Then, they admitted to the fact that they did not have a service history two weeks ago. The car is worth much less without service history. They are either incompetent or lying to me and despite following their procedures and communicating with their customer services department, I still have not heard how they intend to resolve this situation.

Paul Jonee in response to Ripped off.
My advice would be to pursue them further via the ombudsman or legal advice. Your car is worth less without the service history. You have probably been misled if they sold it to you with full history. But you would have to prove it. Perhaps the original advert etc showing fish.
Poor service, selling faulty cars, when call them back they hiding, very difficult to speak with them once you buy the car, don’t trust them, will never recommend Cartime.
