I was (1) day outside of the 14-day period for deciding that the car Cedar supplied was not entirely suitable for our needs. I must make clear that there wasn't anything wrong with the car and we had put 150 miles on the odometer during our 15-day 'custodianships' of the vehicle. The owner of business explained that he was well-versed in consumer law despite having informed him that I had talked to trading standards before calling to request he take back the car as it wasn't fit for our, purpose. An hour later he phoned back and agreed to collect the car with a £1500 deduction fee applied (I had previously offered to pay/accept an £895 deduction restocking fee) which I felt was very generous given the facts. Due however, to his stance on the matter, I really felt that I had little to no choice other than to: a) keep the car - or: b) choose from another vehicle in stock. I'm simply left with the impression that the maximising of profit (pure greed in this case) trumped any concerns Cedar had for customer satisfaction.
