Sold a focus by Central Cars Leigh for £5,000 only to find out it had engine issues, lied to repeatedly and told to come back as they not taking on warranty work this month, then told warranty only if car not drivable so could not claim was rude and told they would give me back £2,500 as car on finance I still owe more than I paid for it Taken to a garage who informed me over £1,000 DPF failure to fix and car not fit for purpose.

Brought Astra sri (Ly10) from Central Cars Leigh, it was fine on first week. Had clutch box problem but my warranty I paid for covered it then a week later had signs of head gasket failure, took it back they took it to garage in wickford they use for repairs, the mechanic said there isn't anything wrong but I've poured a solution into the water. Me unknown thinking they are being helpful took my car back. Weeks later to find head gasket failed signs, overheating on engine coolant pipe that runs from radiator to water header tank. The header tank full of gunge yet again. Also if finger dipped in water tank it was clear it had additive in it it hide head gasket failure and that whoever (I believe the mechanic central cars use) put stop leak or some sort of Kseal into it to hope the signs would stop at least until warranty ran out. Well that attempt failed along with my head gasket of which I got other independent garages to look over and was told it's 100% head gasket failure. Took car back and asked the to take car back as I lost heart in 6 months I had the car and it had 2 major faults of expense to be told by the owner Gary my car was fine and it didnt have head gasket failure, although it was clear it did. I asked for my money back or at least most as I was losing alot as I paid £5500 for the Astra and 1 years gold warranty and got 1 years AA and would lose all that with the car. Gary would only pay back some of the money a big cut to me of nearly £2000. Now a week after I took the car back to this day it's back on the forecourt. Water bottle all cleaned out so no sign of the issue to start with. Just my advise is dip your finger in the water tank and if when you wipe your finger of the water it feels silky or not completely dry then he is hiding the truth as the car isn't a good car and the customer service looks great to start with until you are fed up of being fooled and ask for money back. Not a happy customer.

I bought my beautiful Mini One from central cars two weeks ago . It lives up to everything I was told Lee helped me immensely with everything . I had been living abroad for some years so wasn't familiar with car dealers and I'm a single woman hence I really needed Genuine honest professional advice and help and that's just what I got. The service was amazing !! Plus I know I can call anytime to ask anything car related which is real peace f mind . It's hard nowadays to find a company so helpful and honest ,but that is how Central cars uk "roll' I can't recommend them highly enough So grateful
I purchased a BMW from here back in September. Lee was fantastic! Really helpful and accommodating. The car is perfect, I have had no issues with it at all. It had been nicely cleaned and it was really good value for money. i would definitely recommend Central Cars.

Bought a people carrier from central cars. I work down the road and drive past there every day. Full of nice cars so thought we were going to be dealing with a reputable company. We wasn't. When we first bought the car everything was fine. There was a few little problems that Gary fixed. After getting the car back we found only a few problems were fixed. Then the gear box kept on messing up, not changing gear, drinking diesel and making the car die as it was revving so high. So Gary came and picked the car up. Gave us a courtesy car, which was a matiz. You could fit this car in the one we had bought. Gary dropped the car off and Said he couldn't find a fault. 2 days later It started doing it again. 7-8 more times the car was picked up and dropped off. Still the fault occurred. Gary said "I've cleaned the fuel filter again" I'm no mechanic but if you have to clean a fuel filter 7-8 times, there's a problem before the filter. When we told Gary that it kept dying and with young babies screaming cause the car wouldn't start. Gary said to the Mrs. Buy some ear plugs. That'll sort the problem out. After this going on for a few months, We asked them to buy the car back off us. We paid £5500 for it, 4 months later we were offered £2500. So we went down the route of the finance company who were very helpful and were on our side. After 13 months we finally washed out hands of this car and got £3500. I know we've lost a lot in a year but to wash my hands of that piece of crap was better than nothing. 5 days of handing it back to him it up on the forecourt again. I feel for the next customer to buy it. Wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. I know cars are pot luck when buying and selling, but they customer service was horrendous

Going through this same rubbish right now. Sold a diesel in June which has been a smoking stinking nightmare. In process of taking them to court as sick of Gary's bs. Heard all those 'nothing wrong with it' 'we'll fix it' haven't fixed it stories! We paid debit card not finance :(
I cannot praise this dealership, and the staff enough...I mostly dealt with Gary and Lee, who managed to sell my car for me in order to clear my finance, which was getting me into huge amounts of debt...they paid 1 month of my finance for me over the Christmas period, to help me out. After a few months my car was sold, and Gary arranged for the finance to be paid off, all I had to do was cancel my direct debit, and take my tax cheque to the bank. After a month, I was in a position to purchase another car, and went to Central Cars as my first option, they were very welcoming, and honest with me, they made me and my son feel at home. Gary took my son over to the Lego table to play, and gave him a pocket full of sweets. My purchase went through quickly and smoothly, and I picked my new car up a week later, once it had been MOT'd and Serviced. I'm really happy with my car...and I also received a bunch of flowers before I walked out the door with my new keys...Big thank you to this lovely family run business
Central Cars in Leigh are a dreadful company. Fantastic salesman (and apparently genuine chap called Gary) who puts you at ease, then when you discover that your car is riddled with faults the friendliness ends. Ignored numerous emails and phone calls, when I visited in person Gary was nowhere to be found but his son 'Lee' appears and tries to tell me that I caused the faults! They also offer a full service which turns out to be an oil and filter change only. But this will be the least of your worries as the cars they sell if mine is anything to go by, will need re-building from scratch.
Central Cars were lovely they couldn't do enough to help me if I'm honest. All the paperwork was sorted and ready for me to sign, the car is running great, much faster than my previous car which they gave me a decent part ex price for. I'd happily recommend them.

SO, my review was taken off their Facebook page, after all who wants to read about the truth! I bought a car in October, told them about an issue with it in November, eventually got the car to them in January (People don't work at Christmas...) got it back in February and guess what - not fixed. The only explanation was its an old car..... well that how you sold it to me! Had enough! involved finance company now, probably trading standards and whoever else I can think of. This review will probably be deleted as well So by the way of an update, even after send a signed for letter and various emails Central Cars seem to think the silent treatment is their idea of customer service! So you have been warned - if you do buy form them, make sure the car is all ok!
