After looking around many dealerships I managed to stumble upon CG Cars. Being a first time buyer who hasn’t passed his test yet I didn’t really know what to buy for my needs! Carl spent some time with me looking at what would suite me being 6 foot 7 inches tall, He let me try a few different cars to see what would fit best, he also guided me in regards to insurance and road tax enquires, overall Carl went above and beyond and for this I would like to thank him. I will definitely be back in future! Thank you!
After reading some of these reviews I would like to shear my own experience with you! I have used CG Cars for around 10 years now! I have Purchased two cars for myself and 2 cars for my daughters. I can only say they have been so helpful and honest always! I would and have recommended people to use this company! Thank you Carl it’s been a pleasure we will be back when the boys get old enough to drive.

Rips you off completely. I got told my headlight covers wouldn’t be fixed under warranty as it doesn’t cover this however no paperwork to tell you what’s covered and what’s not covered, it’s more like make it up as you go along to save some pennies. I was originally told it’s condensation and will go and I later discovered that it’s a UV issue and needed a repair kit, I asked Carl the owner if he would cover this for me and I was told very harshly NO and that it was my fault as I bought the car, ok fair right? However the attitude and pure nastiness this man gave me (bare in mind I’m a 18 year old female buying her second car) this very put me off using a small business dealership again. He very much OVERPRICES the cars and states that he sells them for what there ‘worth’ this isn’t the case at all. Go somewhere else! Finally he told me over the phone very confidentiality that the car was in immaculate condition and had ALL MOT and service history papers this also wasn’t the case! There were papers missing to both. Carl also told me the car had had a fresh service However this wasn’t in the papers and was a complete LIE. I had to then fork out my own money after I’d been lied to! To get a major service seen as the car actually hadn’t been serviced since 2018 not 2019 like he promised. Stay away be aware

Generally i do not respond to reviews, good or bad. This review is so biased and untrue i thought it warranted a reply. The Polo you purchased was the cheapest in the country like for like on mileage, age, history, HPi status, colour etc. It was not overpriced or you would have purchased a different car from elsewhere. The service records and VOSA mot history print out were available in the handover pack and you studied them prior to agreeing to purchase. The headlamp plastic lenses did have some marring from the sun. You stated that this was ok because you were upgrading to aftermarket headlamps with built in led indicators. When you called some time after the sale to discuss the headlamps i actually initially agreed to contribute towards their replacement but then you happened to mention that you had applied chemicals to the lenses and were now beyond repair. This was when i refused to contribute towards the replacement. We offered to have the car serviced prior to collection but you chose to negotiate a £200 discount from the asking price to enable you to service the car at your local garage in order to bring the history up to date. Warranties are for mechanical issues not for cosmetic items that you choose to be unhappy with after the sale. We try hard to provide good service but we can not please everyone. I feel you tried to take advantage of us and on this occasion i was not prepared to be had over by a customer with a case of memory loss and buyers remorse.

This review Is very true, I’m not tarnishing your company what would be my gain Carl? I’m simply making other potential customers very aware of your unprofessional dealership. Just to start things off Carl, my car may have been the ‘best price in the country’ if the car matched the description you listed. You told me the car was immaculate however you know that wasn’t true you failed to mention me the head light covers needed repairing and 2 rear tyres had cracks in them? I presume they also don’t come under warranty, laughable. Also Carl you lied about the cars paperwork why advertise the car saying it comes with ALL MOT AND SERVICE history if it doesn’t? Service history had two years missing? And all you offered was a oil change! I had to fork out for a major service. Seems like you care more about the ££ than the customers. Also Carl let’s re jog your memory I never negotiated £200 to be taken off the car as you very much wanted to make the point that you absolutely do not drop the prices on the car as again ‘you sell them for what there worth’ which is laughable. So Thankyou Carl for making this experience for a young girl very poor I hope you are ashamed. Do not use!

I would highly recommend this company both for the quality car we purchased and for the excellent service . CG cars are very helpful , friendly and courteous . They were professional and kept me up to date throughout . Nothing was too much trouble, they helped ensure that the purchase was a surprise for our son. It is reassuring to know that the car is safe, reliable and in good working condition. I have already recommended them to friends and we ourselves were recommended to use them. I will definitely use CG cars in the future.

purchasing vehicles has always been a painful experience for me in the past ,Not having a very big budget finding a cheep car with out buying the last owners problems is difficult having been stung a few times in the past , meany years ago i was recommended to cg cars pinxton by a work mate , ive had two cars from carl and elaine and have both been good value and served me well with no problems with ether vehicles considering i dont look after them and drive them in to the ground ,
