I've enjoyed driving BMW cars for the last 13 years, but won't buy another one. My 'approved used' 1 series from this dealer developed 3 rust spots on the tailgate at 4 years old. Asked them to have a look last week, to be told they're stone chips. The man who looked at it was then rather rude when I didn't look excited at his offer to quote me for a repair. The independant bodyshop who are going to fix it were pretty sure they're not stone chips. My next car will probably be German, but it won't be from Munich. It's always a bit of a shame when a business is happy to throw away future business for what would probably cost them a couple of hundred quid!

I was looking for an item for my motorbike. I called twice in the morning to be told Megan would call me back within 15 minutes. This didn't happen!! I drove down and walked around the showroom for 10 minutes before anyone asked if needed any help. I explained what I wanted and was told the lady would be with me in a minute, so I was directed to have a free coffee. After 25 minutes I tried to find a free person to talk to but only one was salesman was on the shop floor who was talking on the telephone. I eventually found Megan who had walked straight past me and went to someone who had just walked in! She was helpful in trying to find the product but unfortunately it was out of stock. What makes things even better was that she called me at 4pm so say that she was returning my call! The whole Chandlers Bmw experience was absolutely shocking. Senior managers are seen walking the shop floor and not engaging with customers, thank christ I bought my car and motorbike from a decent dealers. Would I go back to them, never!!!!!
John Abbott in response to Customer service at it's absolute worse
You are lucky I’ve bought numerous cars & motorcycles from Chandler’s They say pop in and see them Unfortunately once they have your money when you “pop in” they won’t even give you the time of day. I like to change my vehicles but sorry I won’t be parting with anymore cash with this lot again!
DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS DEALER I was told my car would be delivered in February. With everything going on in the world right now I asked the question of is there a chance it will be delayed, I was told multiple times no it is on track. When I hadn't heard anything in February I phoned again where I was told the delivery date had been moved to March but could come in before then. I chased Chandlers BMW again in March as my delivery date was only 1 week away where I was told that I didn't even have a build slot allocated yet.. the company are total liars and will do anything to get a sale. They provide absolutely no communication with the customer what so ever. Employees which I dealt with are: Callum Denega Robert Eames Chris Rooney I would rather pay an extra 100 a month than have to deal with this lot again!!!
I took my car to Chandlers Rustington for a Full service, they have looked after our X5 for the last few years. When i took my car into Chandlers everything was working perfectly on the car, it just needed a full service £680. They serviced the vehicle and i was sent a video stating the vehicle needed no further work and everything was working perfectly. When i came to collect the vehicle it had a message on the Idrive i had not seen before. It stated "No Acoustic Tones" which i never seen before, All the sounds from the vehicle had stopped No Radio, warning sounds of any kind. I drove the car home and phoned the garage. They told me to bring the car back the next day and told me it was probably something small. It turns out a part had stopped working and it was going to cost £880, i explained the part was working fine when i brought it in. The guy disagreed with this, but he said he could plug it in and tell me exactly when the part failed. Which turns out to be when they had my car, they refused to acknowledge this fact and it was "just one of those things". I spoke to the manager and after a heated discussion he agreed it happened while it was with them but he would still charge me £550!! I had no option but to pay for this repair but i feel very let down by Chandlers. I will never bring my car to them again, and intend to make a formal complaint. I`m writing this review in a aim to warn others when using this garage. I have also emailed the TV show "rip of Britain" to see if they could help me further. As BMW head office say it`s all down to the dealership!.
If I could give 0 star I would. It is the poorest service I have received from them. Their standard of service is 0 compared to before. 19.05.21 I dropped off car with my 3 year old boy and left the child car seat at the back. A joie 0-12 years car seat circa £200 which was missing on pick up. The service was for an electrical fault that made a noise and car doors not working with the key fob. No update on car until nearly 6 months after dropping off the car. Called about a dozens times for an update throughout this 6 month period but usually without success or resolve and no one replying. They finally took a look at it and gave an estimate for the works on 15.11.21. They said it would be ready in a week. No one called. I called 3 more times before I could establish what was happening with my car. I finally got hold of someone telling me my car was ready for pick up on 24.12.21. I fell sick over Christmas and New Year. I Picked up car on 11.01.22. Noticed baby car seat was missing. They tried to look for it for about an hour and no result. They then gave a business card and said to email about it. Not even an apology and tried to insinuate that we were lying and there was no baby seat. Wow. I cannot believe how shoddy and unprofessional they dealt with it all. I called the police to report the missing car seat. Drove car back and the doors still don’t work. The electrical fault is still present. Called bmw headquarters to complain about the missing car seat and said they would escalate it. They said as they were an independent they could only do so much. 24.01.22 I received a call from them to tell me that I’m a liar about the baby car seat and that the doors not working would cost me more money. I have already paid £1670.96 for electrical works which are incomplete. I have contacted trading Standards and will issue a claims against them. How they can operate as a legitimate business baffles me. Someone else who said that you should take pictures before it goes into service with them is right but I’m sure that they would then turn around and say the photos were doctored. They are so far from being professional that they do not even compare to smaller garages. Simply, DO NOT use them. It’s at your own risk and there is no guarantee for your works as they are seen as independent and act unfairly very often to paying customers and in breach of their contract. There are many negative reviews which show their breaches of contract with many others. Again, like another reviewer I have no inclination in getting a bmw in my next car purchase as they are my local branch and I would definitely not want to use them again. Dishonest. Theft. Slander. Are not the words you associate with a bmw service garage. Chandlers Brighton is NOT a legitimate business. I feel for the so many that have been treated so badly in such challenging times as these. It is beyond words. They simply do not want to take responsibility ,breach their contract and think they are not held accountable if they simply deny your legitimate claims. Totally appalling.

Can only echo the sentiments of previous reviews. Poor service from the moment they have your money, lies on presentation video, car had to go back for repairs etc etc. would never go back to Chandlers or any of the GROUP 1 dealerships.

I can't fault the car that I've purchased, its amazing. It's more the service wrapped around it. Having read the reviews from other customers, it was a reason that made me think buying a car virtually from Chandlers would be good. The sales process was ok, wasn't outstanding, but I knew what I wanted and got it. During the follow up communications (that I was driving myself - no pun intended) I was led to believe that I would be receiving certain extras as part of my purchase. Come delivery day and the excitement of seeing the new (used) car all is great. Its only really after having time to reflect and review - everything that I was told / led to believe as extras - never happened! even the basic of having the car valeted (had fun finding dust and dirt in the car, with empty sweet wrappers in areas that showed no car was taken to clean that car at all. Then during these current unprecedented times - the car was delivered (instead of coming on the back of a van/lorry - it was driven, so wasn't sanitised / cleaned from that perspective) the BMW seller wasn't wearing a mask (possibly due to health reasons) - just these little things that made the experience, from what I was expecting, pretty poor. To be honest I had a better time getting a car from a car supermarket previously. I guess i'm just unlucky that it was my time to receive this experience, compared to all the other good reviews. Great car, poor everything else!

I dealt with James Ford. I enquired about an approved used 3 series they had for sale. I were sent a video of the car by James and it looked very nice indeed. He described the car as having all 4 tyres replaced with new ones when they refurbished the wheels and the car having only one owner. I were happy with this and I placed a deposit on the car. I travelled 280 miles to collect the car, upon arrival I inspected the car to see that it had only one new tyre. 2 tyres were 50% worn and one of them had only 3mm of tread. I were very disappointed, I explained I were dissatisfied and James explained there were nothing that could be done. I went to hand over the keys back to James and explained that he had simply told me lies and I would not go ahead and purchase the car. He then went to speak to a manager and agreed to knock £150 off the price of the car for me to purchase a new tyre. I agreed to this however I were still disappointed as the other tyres were not brand new with 8mm as described. On the journey back not long after I left the dealership, the tyre pressure indicator came on. I stopped at a service station to discover all 4 tyres were incorrect pressures. Readings, 26, 30, 32 and 36 PSI. I have now received the logbook back which states 2 former keepers when James told me it had only 1 owner. The first service on the car were also overdue by 4 months. It is clear this car has not gone through any approved used checks. I am booked in at my local Bmw dealer to have the car fully inspected as I simply do not trust this dealership. I did not expect this from a Bmw Dealership, this is the kind of tricks dodgey back street garages play. This vehicle has been miss sold to me there I will be taking legal proceedings.

Absolutely disgraceful service by a bunch of charlatans. Took out a service plan for my bmw where I was paying £30 a month. Called up as I was told my first service was due in January, so I decided to book in. The service was carried out and I go to pick up my car and I’m told that I need to pay £110 because the service was actually due in March / April and the monthly payments won’t cover it. This isn’t my issue! If I was told correctly of the date of the service I would have booked it in March. They refuse to cover the cost themselves even though this is their customer service error by confirming my service was due in January. Now they won’t release my car until I pay them £110 for something I wasn’t even told about and are threatening to hold the car for 3 months. Disgrace.
