Peugeot 3008 in for service & MOT today as they’re an official Peugeot service centre - told to bring in before 9:30, took it at 8:45 and told it’d be done by 5. No courtesy cars because they have had none available for a while. Not hearing anything and seeing online MOT not done I was dropped off just before 5 to be told won’t be long as they’re doing the MOT now. A big guy comes in while I’m waiting asking for help, he had a blow out round the corner and because of a shoulder issue wanted help changing tyre. They - the service department - the one with the trolley jacks, tools etc. refused to help him even though he was at the entrance and within their car park. So I, disabled myself, goes with the guy, aided by my walking stick and end up changing his tyre which took a while but luckily managed it (think the painkillers I’d took earlier helped). Couldn’t leave the guy stranded as it was apparently his wife’s 50th too. Gets back inside, car still not ready but they’re doing the service now - so that hadn’t been done yet! They’d had the car 8 hours and done nothing despite asking me to bring it in early. 10 minutes later told there’s an issue - the sump plug won’t go back in as it’s threaded but say it’s not something they’ve done, it’s something that happens, which it’s not. The the service, therefore the last oil change was done by them, this time them and it’s not exactly a consumable item you’d ever expect to change so they’ve cross threaded it this time or last time. So needs a new sump because they’ve knackered that and want to charge me another £170ish - oh and still have my car because they couldn’t get parts because they didn’t touch the car till the end of the day. Well, if they think I’m just going to pay up and that’s it they’re sadly mistaken - they should be compensating me. Official complaint already raised via online chat and I’ll get a call back to respond to that tomorrow but going off my experience, not expecting much. They’ve damaged my car because only they could have, left me without one and expect me to pay extra for the privilege. And I was considering an MG4 EV ….. not now unless they rectify this spectacularly. Won’t use their service department again as they clearly don’t care about customers or people in need of their help - I mean a disabled guy having to help another disabled guy who was distressed and on their property change a tyre using the crappy jack you get with a car is disgraceful.

Dave P in response to Avoid Service Department
This is an update to the review I posted above. Yesterday when I posted the review it was absolutely reflective of the situation I had been placed in - they had my car, the sump had been damaged needing replacing which could only have been done by them and I was advised I would have to pay for it. Today they have been superb. I went in this morning when passing and spoke with Lorissa, the service manager who due to circumstances beyond her control was not there yesterday when I had returned to get my car. She explained that during the day, they had lost technicians due to injury and sickness which was unforeseen which put a strain on the schedule for the day. She took the time to listen and acknowledged that the issues caused with the sump and my explanation that it could only have been done by them likely when replacing the sump plug last service was the issue. I absolutely know if she had been available yesterday she would have acknowledged this at the time and I would have left at least knowing that the issue on my car was going to be rectified at no cost to me. She has been superb today and also has Phil who is another manager who took the time to call me and explain what had happened and that it’s not what they expect so will be rectifying the issue. This is why I am putting the update on the review on because just leaving the old review there is not fair on them because I would happily give them 4 stars now - only taking one off because of the issues that have unfortunately happened due to the extraordinary unforeseen staffing issues they encountered yesterday which they were very apologetic for.

Be very careful buying from here They don’t even know the service interval on a Kia Sportage and will mis-sell you a policy so you are getting your car serviced twice as often - and they are a Kia dealer? Absolutely awful will never use them again beware!

We decided to look at ChapelHouse in St Helens for a used car and walked away with a lovely ex display purple Picasso. Many thanks to chris for fixing us up with a great car and a great deal to.
Just received my car back today, this was after a repair under the Kia warranty. also they serviced the brakes and lubricated the seat belt mechanism for a very reasonable charge. The repairs and servicing were done promptly as I needed my car urgently. The staff at St Helens were very helpful, many thanks to Carly who although was very busy managed to get things done. On picking up my car I was informed that my car had been valeted, a pleasant surprise ! no sign of a back street Arthur Daly at c/house St Helens. Well done 10 out of 10
