Bought a mini, felt rushed into the sale after sending an initial deposit over the phone. The car literally collapsed from rust on the front end. Been advised by a few garages to report to trading standards. My phone calls are now being ignored. Awful service. I will definitely be pushing this further

July 2018 my partner and I purchased a van 09 reg and a Vauxhall insignia 2012 reg and paid £6000 for both. We were given 3 months warranty but no 12 months MOT on the vehicles as they advertise they do give full MOT. The Vauxhall insignia spent nearly 4 months back at their so called bodged up garage because it had every single serious fault with it which put me and my little boys life at risk on many of times due to the car cutting out of power on motorways and A roads. The faults with the car were: Hanging off broken radiator Holes in the inlet and outlet turbo pipes Completely broken fuel filter Air conditioning pipes all broken Boost pipe fell off x2 Coolant leaking everywhere Black smoke started billowing out of the exhaust Numerous error codes on the car computer Egr and dpf problems Once their very unknowledgeable mechanic so called sorted the problems out mostly with second hand eBay car parts the car was running okay for a few months and the limp mode kicked in again with recurring problems until exactly a year in July 2019 the engine completely died. The van on the other hand lasted a whole 4 months after buying it and the turbo blew up and started setting on fire and we were told it’s not their problem anymore as it was out of warranty! I have since been in contact numerous of times with deals on wheels (church street cars) to get them to give me a cheap run about vehicle as they have already held their hands up and admitted the insignia had so many faults ect but are unwilling to compensate me with anything after already agreeing to give me another car knowing full well I have a child to get to school and myself to work! They are now ignoring my calls and being very oblivious to the damage and loss they have caused me! Trading standards are aware of everything and will be looking into this due to these dealers selling vehicles that are not fit for purpose or of satisfactory standards! We have lost both vehicles and have been completely mugged off and out of pocket which has caused massive financial issues for us as a family! I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and hope they would be compassionate about what they have sold us but they are not In any way and will do anything to wash their hands of me! Please stay away from church street cars, deals on wheels and the car lot!!!! They are all tied together as one. I hope they have a guilty conscience for what they are doing to people it’s out of order and this will be taken further!

Had a problem with the car which they said they would fix, they couldn't fix it so offered a full refund. There was a problem with the reg docs which was totally my fault but paid in full. Gave me faith in used car dealers No cowboys these

Bought a 2005 plate Mini Cooper in April 2017 from Church Street Car Sales. Was happy at first, nice friendly people and good service. It is now July, boot had to be fixed as was letting in rainwater, new brake disks etc needed as they are barely visible they are so thin and exhaust needs replacing. Disappointed to say the least. No warranty cover anymore otherwise I would have taken it back to be sorted. Great car but going to cost a fortune sorting out faults that they should have picked up and rectified before selling it.

Debbie Peter in response to Great at first
Ok, an update for everyone. Owned this car for nearly a year and the bills are mounting. Took the car for a winter health check. Discovered £1400 of work needed including oil leaks and corrosions which must have been going on when the car was sold to me. Again I am now in an even worse position as I can't afford the repairs. I am now having to sell the car at a huge loss and buy God knows what with whatever I have left over to be able to commute to work. They really have left me in a very bad financial situation. I will now be writing them a letter of complaint (not that it will do any good) just to get things off my chest and to let then know what a mess they have let left me in all because they didn't do their job properly to check a car before it was sold on. The previous owner might have known about the issues but that's beside the point. Why did they not check the Car? They have a mechanic I believe? I am out of pocket by a huge amount of money with a worthless car because of it. Church Street Motors if you read this, you should be ashamed of yourself.
Purchased a ford fiesta in may 2017. It was advertised as "runs and drives like new" with Full MOT with 2 keys, and was told by the salesman that they do over 30 checks on the vehicle before it goes out. It's a shame they didn't check the 4 faulty alloys, 3 of the faulty tyres (2 of which were pumped up to 45psi), the heavy power steering, the faulty power steering electrics, the knocking sound at low speeds, the faulty electric wing mirror, the broken interior light, the corroded radio aerial, the filter pipe which had fallen off into the engine due to damaged engine mounts, the faulty passenger seat which won't tilt forwards, amongst other minor faults. When I took it back to point out the faults, they said "we can't find anything wrong with it" and "if you want another key get one and we'll pay you for it".... Yeah right!! I was also told "the reason why the tyres keep losing pressure is because I must be turning the steering wheel without moving the car forwards"!!! (I might be naive but I'm not stupid), also they said "noises from the power steering is normal" After spending considerable time and money correcting the above faults, only Now would the car pass a genuine MOT test. Alarm bells should have rang when they would only accept cash. WARNING. STAY CLEAR of church Street motors Hull, and the Car lot, Hull

I bought a Subaru Impreza from Church Street Car Sales in January which had unfortunately has had to go back to them. The car was delivered to me with a million and one faults. It went back to them for repairs and they said they managed to sort most of the issues but said the car needed a new engine and said they could either replace it or have a refund so I decided to give the car back. They have been quite reasonable but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone who would have to travel to get there. If it's local then fair enough.
