I bought a blue VW golf. I test drove it and the clutch felt odd and they said they would fix it. So I said fine they pressured me to buy it and I stupidly bought it. When I picked it up after 5 mins leaving their garage the alarm went off the car warning lights went on a Big Bang sound happened. Had to give the car back and 12 weeks later they said it’s fixed and they left it in a shopping centre car park for me to go get. No work was done and there was cigarets, donkeys and used condoms in the car. When I tired to call them my number was blocked and their garage was always closed. Took me 6 months to re sell it to a garage who wanted to do it up. I bough it for £1750 and had to sell it for £430. I really felt violated by them. Please don’t be stupid like me. Do not use Crowland Motors. Pay more for a trusted garage.

We had the same treatment, faulty car they didn't care about, fake warrenty. We eventually took these men to court to WIN our money back. We won and bailiffs got the money back for us. I'm more than happy to help anyone do the same. Just ask for help.

Kirsty can you email me please to help as we in the same boat with these people but trading under a different name now. Motor firm ltd. Peterborough
Wouldn’t even rate crowland motors a single star, owe son £1200 for a car he paid deposit on and never received, when went to collect they had sold it on, say it has nothing to do with them, plenty of messages back and forth with them promising to pay, have had chq that bounced and offers of another car, they are thieves pure and simple do NOT give your hard earned cash, been trying to get money back since July have invoice and plenty of proof just get fobbed off, next step is court, they need closing down, trading standards have been advised as have police.

Crowland Motors are happy to take a non refundable deposit for a car that is completely horseshit and never to see a penny back from it. Totally disgusting and would warn everyone against using them.

I've just bought a car from Crowland. unit 1, Carrington Drove North, Is this the garage you are talking about as I didn't see a name on the premises. I just know he's a motor trade.
Bought a car at short notice that had damage. An agreement was made that the damage would be repaired before picking up which was not done. A further agreement was then made for parts to be sent to me and fitted by my local mechanic but the parts never turned up. After contact was made they said the damage had nothing to do with them and neither did the repairs. Do not deal with these people. Nor any further companies they open as it seems they move on periodically to avoid consequence.
Bought a car 0n 01/02/2018...P/X my car plus £1000...within 2 weeks, managements lights on, also 'cog light' on, car does not pull, not safe to drive. 5 phone numbers to company, do not connect, emails unanswered, all I know is they were going to move to there other site in Peterborough?? I do not know where it is...can anyone help?? I rang 'warranty wise' as car suposedly sold with warranty, this is false!!! Warranty wise have no warranties with crowland motors, they are stealing our money, selling us dodgy cars, something must be done. Police are not interested, neither are trading standards, this is a joke, I have little chance of getting my car fixed!! This will result in me losing my job as I will be unable to get to work!! Totally and utterly disappointed!!!

Hi, I’m In the same position, surely there is something we can do if a number of individuals are in the exact same position! It’s a joke they state they have no records of me purchasing my car when i’ve complained to them yet i have every invoice i need, the fact they are selling a warranty product under a brand name yet the company have no idea of it is absurd! I’m taking this wherever i possibly can as it’s an absolute joke! Feel free to contact me on my email, as Anewstead123@gmail.com! Let’s attempt to put a case together at the very least,

Wish I had come across these reviews in march , got car from what was thorney motors they have now changed their name again. Son brought car that had 12 months mot but the list of repairs we had to have done is huge but now scrapped car as it was costing to much for repairs and with no agreement / communication . Took advice from cab did all the correct procedures and still nothing. Have had all these excuses that have been mentioned. After being told thorney motors has closed I drove to garage to see the same people selling and when I confronted them his response was take me court get bailiff you will get nothing 😡 Do we know if any one has successfully had money owed paid? My email is baughn7@gmail.com If anyone can help give advice please email

hello there address is Carrington Road Crowland just drove mine there had to tow it away took it for an mot after my brother fixed the mess they caused to find out they stole my catalytic converter ! Didn't use new sensor that was Brought, kept them an charged us im building a case any relevant information regarding these thieving con artists would be gratefully appreciated!
Absolute joke. If there is ever a car company on that lot in Peterborough. Do NOT GIVE THEM A PENNY. Bought a car 26/12/17. Paid by bank transfer. My first mistake. I believed them when they told me it had a7 month mot. Runs out 22 nd March. Believed them when they gave me a6 month warrantee which I paid 125 for. Car went on to limp mode so asked them to sort it out. They kept it a whole month without doing a thing. Despite endless calls and promises. Then when they got kicked off AutoTrader and they're web site disappeared i had to go get the car back. This being despite there latest excuse of being shut for the weekend due to a death I the family. Hmmm. Almost 2 months on I've still not recieved the log book from dvla. That's more money I've lost. Trading standards have been informed if it means anything now they have stopped trading under the name crowland motors. Companies have allegedly been known to keep trading under another name to get away from their debts. Allegedly.

Hi people, i just won in Court with them, now will try to get money back from them, question is are they move to Thorney and now seling cars as ThorneyMotors? Apreciate for your info
Terry Keeble-Wright in response to Scammers
Yes I believe they are now trading under Thorney motors... My 18 yr old son bought a mini from them March 2018 the price included a full mot 3 months warranty a full tank of petrol and delivery to Cambridge, On delivery which was a saga to organise there was no warranty only a 1/4 tank petrol, was told they had put a new back box on it but since discovered it has just been sprayed silver. 5 months later and 29 calls and texts after being promised a £100 refund for the lack of warranty and tank of fuel still nothing but empty promises and excuses. The main man even gave me his word he would pay the refund so his word means nothing PLEASE DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM
Terry Keeble-Wright in response to Scammers
Just to add I also got the excuse of a death in the family ,4 weeks in Pakistan to attend the funeral that turned into 6, along with daughter being in hospital (allegedly) and ramadan... If you look at the Auto trader reviews for Thorney Motors the first ever review s come up as Crowland Motors seems a bit suspicious.

I've taken Crowland motors to the small claims court after the clutch went after one month and the warranty from warrantywise was non existent, I won but got nothing from them, Involved the salaried court bailiffs, pointing out that crowland motors had moved all their stock to Thorney motors and thorney motors were using the same photos taken at the crowland site . What with that and crowland motors replying on Thorney motors bad reviews, I thought i had a good chance of getting my money back with all those assets - Bailiffs couldn't connect the two garages! Thought I'd finished with all the crud buying a car from these scammers had caused but i've just found out they never sent off the log book. With all the small claim court stuff, i hadn't noticed and now I need to tax my car i have to pay £25 and sorn the car for up to 6 weeks whilst the new log book is delivered.

They have now stopped trading under Thorney Motors and are now using the "The Car Team" on Gumtree but trading from the same place in Thorney BEWARE
mark metcalfe in response to Scammers
They have just changed their name to The Motor Firm in the same location June 2019
Took £200 deposit on a car, could not get it road worthy and 3 months later I still have not been able to get any money back from them. Firstly it was excuses on why the car was not ready, and then more excuses on why they could not refund me. I suspect they are deliberately conning people and have no intention of completing any sales. Currently taking legal advice on how to get my money back.

Hi did you get any come back on your car as i brought a car from them in November 2017 and i have had problems getting my money back
When I went to pick the Seat up from Crowland Motors the car looked perfect, couldn't fault it. I Think the car was pretty well priced too! There was a slight issue but I had to sort that myself, other than that thought it was very good!
