Having worked directly for a car manufacturer in the past and having been used to getting brand new cars then, the purchasing of a second hand car is always a worrying challenge: approached with trepidation as you do not know if you are buying a potential 'pig in a poke' with lots of problems. As important is how you will be treated by the dealer both in pre and post sales. Dealing with Dave and Paul of D A Blundell Car Sales I need not have worried. I found from start to finish the deal was handled professionally, courteously and pleasantly. In summary. We had a very good part exchange offer for my wife's 13 year old car The car she was looking to buy had a few minor dints and paintwork blemishes - all of which were sorted out without any quibble. The actual handover sale on the premises was carried out strictly following the government guidelines for the Corona Virus, including valeting and quarantining the car for 3 days due to a personal health worry; Only one key fob was available at the vehicle handover so Dave contacted the previous owner and obtained the second one for us. I can only speak about our experience, We purchased an 8 year old, low mileage Mini Cooper. It was one of the cheapest cars for sale on the premises, but it has been turned out in a lovely condition. I bought a ford fiesta from this lot, and within 4 days the car jumped into limp mode, and had a fuel injector fault. I gave it back to them to have it fixed, and just over a month later the car went into limp mode again. After taking it to a different mechanic I found out that the standard of repairs to the car had left it in an apparently worse state than before, an example of this being the cable plug to the fuel injector had been broken and was held together with a zip tie. They left me with a car that was dangerous to drive and not road worthy. After asking for a refund they have refused me, and now I have had to take them to trading standards and file court action against them. This whole episode has been the most stressful and frustrating experience, not to mention the inconvenience of being left without a motor. I would say hand on heart avoid these at all costs.
