Mr Hynd and I have come to an agreement where we have purchased the car back from him and refunded all monies including the £55 diagnostic charge incurred by Mr Hynd. He now has his old car back and is now happy and he has promised to amend his hasty review in due course. DB Car Sales
Saw DB Car Sales article on Gumtree, which said appointments could be made out of hours by appointment. Asked this as I live in Glasgow, and was told that was impossible as there's school pickups and commitments after work (they close at 6pm). Left work early to go view a car within their hours, showed up before my appointment time, only to find they were shut. When I emailed them, they said there was an "emergency" and that they closed 40 minutes early. 2-hour round-trip in traffic, absolute waste of time and petrol and I wasn't even worth a phone call to cancel. Shockingly poor service. Have since received a phone call to reschedule, I will not drive that time or waste any more fuel to see them, and neither should you!

Who wrote this a relative of the owner? The owner Derek or a staff member?
I purchased a Citroen C3 from DB Car Sales at the end of last year. Everybody was lovely and very accommodating. It was my first car, so exciting. The vehicle starting showing up warning lights within 6 hours. I was told to contact RAC who would deal with it through the warranty (not worth the paper it’s printed on as I couldn’t find a garage in Paisley or Glasgow who would deal with RAC) RAC couldn’t even suggest anywhere. I spent around £500 of my own money trying to diagnose the fault. £120 for a new battery as it kept dying. The faults became more frequent and serious. Multiple warning lights for different systems would flash on and off, the car wouldn’t start or the windscreen wipers would stop halfway across the windscreen making it very dangerous to drive so I stopped using it until I could find out exactly what it was. Exchanged in excess of 60 calls with the dealership who just kept palming me off to RAC who refused to help as the faults began on the day of purchase making the dealership liable. Eventually I took it to the Citroen garage in Glasgow who found that for quite some time there had been water making its way into the fuse box gradually causing multiple systems to misbehave. The quote for the work was £2000. I told the dealership and they “Passed it over to their complaints team” They refused to take my calls for several days until eventually I received a letter from an internet legal advice firm DBs “Legal Team” instructing me to stop contacting their client. An independent inspection by Scotia confirmed that the water ingress had been happening for several months before I had the vehicle and the damage was extensive. Their legal team dismissed the report and insisted several more times that I do not contact their client. When trading standards got involved they met with the owner of DB who spouted all sorts of lies to them. Claiming he’d tried to contact me and my finance company to discuss the problem which never happened. Trading Standards have informed me that they are confident they have enough evidence to prove a criminal offence has occurred. By pure chance I noticed the previous owner details on the V5 and made contact. The previous owner had bought the same vehicle from DB Car Sales in March of last year and had the exact same faults I had. She sent me full email chains between herself and the dealership where they claimed to have replaced the fuse box etc. The indepentand inspection confirms that some untrained work was carried out on the fuse box and it was patched up inside with sellotape. SELLOTAPE. and a load of grease “most likely in an attempt to keep out erroneous flows of water”. Still their legal team refused to come to the table, dismissing all evidence regardless of how irrefutable the email chains were. After 9 long weeks of nothing happening, my finance company have now taken the car back and I hope will be pursuing legal action against DB. Anyone who takes the time to read this, please take heed. There are lots of cars out there. Don’t do what I did and get excited over one because the interior has your favourite football teams colours. Look at loads, research every dealer you’re looking at. I’ve got a nice we Corsa now that works great. I wish I had researched DB before I went there as there are too many stories like mine. Trading standards West Lothian told me they’re monitoring several complaints against this trader so please just don’t take the risk. DB are criminals and have been for a while by the looks of it. Thankfully from conversations I’ve had with organisations it looks like some real charges will be coming down on them soon so hopefully they won’t be around much longer to take advantage of anyone as inexperienced as I was. I had a similar experience with this company. Was physically assaulted by the owner (horrible human being). Did you make any progress with this?
I bought my Zafira from Broxburn Motorzone (now DB Car Sales) in October 2014 and it performed so well that I began to love the model and its versatility. Certainly, it did have its teething problems (ie the Lamda sensors) in the beginning but I understand that this aspect was (and is) a recognised problem with the Zafira B Model. I took it to them for its annual MOT and any work that needed to be done. This was done by their mechanics extremely well and very reasonably priced such that they were my ‘go-to’ place for any other work that needed to be done on my car. I made the mistake of going to a Mobile Mechanic for repairs and MOT in 2017 because the car became immobile. This time I was not making the same mistake, but paid for the uplift of the car to be taken to DB Car Sales to identify the problems and do the repairs. This they did extremely well, and again the cost was far less than I was expecting – leaving me enough left-over cash to have two new tires put on the back wheels. When I picked the car up, it was driving like a new car – the repairs being done extremely well. Come MOT time again this year (March 2018) they were my first choice to take my car to – and to my surprise, the car sailed through its MOT with no ‘advisories’ at all. I know that when it comes to upgrading to my next vehicle, DB Car Sales will be my only choice. They provide excellent quality service with a friendly professionalism that inspires confidence. I know that when I buy my next car from them, I will get a quality vehicle expertly serviced at an excellent price – and the after-sales service that they provide is so very rare these days. The staff (especially Leanne and Derrick) are so friendly and approachable that it is comforting and reassureing to deal with them when your car gets broken. You know its is in good hands.

Bought a vauxhall insignia from db car sales, asked about service history, was told well maintained all done as should be. Bought a parts labour 12 month warranty. Within weeks engine fault, that would take a month to rectify. Few months later waterpump seized. Only main dealer would look at car as garage warranty. I didnt mind as was told any vat registeted garage could do watranty work on.car. Db car sales then decide they wont pay cost of repair, this then escalates to not doing anything and dont want to know. Was told previous sales staff had been let go. Due to simar issues. But garage taking no responsibility and will not honour warranty. I am now left with a lump of useless metal!! STAY AWAY!!

We were looking for a good value car and found one in a '09 Lexus. The sales agent, Kerry, assisted us in test-driving the car (more than once) and ensured the process of evaluating the car / MOT / valeting / prep / warranty was followed. Like other reviews, we found the team to be friendly, supportive and not high-pressured. I'd have no problem returning.

Hassle free way to buy your next car. What I liked about this dealer was that way they were so laid back about their business.
