We bought our second motorhome from Chris Dixon and we’re told warranty work no problem! What a complete lie that turned out to be. We cannot get anyone in Scotland to deal with the problem in our van, either too busy or too big a job. Elddis keep referring us back to Dicksons and Dicksons refer us back to Elddis. Shame on you Chris, you are lucky we are not returning our van for a full refund, there are consumer rights. One thing is for sure, you won’t be providing our next van. Would;d not recommend that you buy anything from this firm.
Bought a new Auto Sleeper Broadway, waited a few weeks for pre delivery checks to be done. Which wasn’t a problem We agreed with John our salesman, who was terrific, we would collect her 11am on the Tuesday, John phoned while we were on our way, to tell us he had to go elsewhere to collect another van but Tim would collect us and drive us to the showroom, all good, Tim came for us and couldn’t have been nicer We arrived and hung about a wee while before being told, our van wasn’t ready, and we should go for lunch, thought they might pay, no chance We again had to phone Tim who collected us from where we were having lunch, went back to the showroom, where, Chris when he came off the phone, immediately asked “how are you paying”:card machine in hand eh! I said I would like to see our Motorhome first considering we hadn’t seen it for 7 weeks, he took us through to the back where he left us to go over her When we went back through, again “ Chris asked how are you paying” which we did, the Auto Sleeper was brought round and we were handed the keys bye bye My husband asked to be shown controls etc, which was a quick run around lasting all of 5 minutes again bye bye To cut a long story short, we had problems when we took her out, no hot water, no heating Phoned the service department, thank goodness for Nick, he had her in within 24 hours, showed us how everything works and took time too explain My faith in Dicksons was restored

In June of this year we paid a substantial deposit on a caravan that Dicksons of Perth had for sale. They accepted the deposit and told us the caravan wouldn't be ready for 4 weeks We accepted this and waited to hear the delivery date when we contacted them again after 4 weeks we were then told it would be another 2 weeks.When this two weeks expired we still had no caravan and no contact at all from Dicksons We told them we would take the caravan as it was and they promised delivery the following Monday. No caravan was forthcoming and no contact from Dicksons whatsoever. We then contacted Dicksons yet again and were told there was a problem with the caravan and was going to take up to 10 weeks. Obviously by this time my husband was a bit irate and demanded the deposit back whereupon Tim Dickson said he felt a bit intimidated although there was no threatening behaviour whatsoever We were then faced with another very rude salesman who used very aggressive behaviour to my husband who IIs 70 years old and he was sticking his face into my husbands face only 2"from my husbands face trying to prompt my husband to hit him. My husband then walked away and sat in the car whilst I went in to the office to arrange a refund from Tim. Although we then received the refund after two days we were treated dusgracefully as this was a cash sale If we had not received the refund promptly after two days we intended to return to Dicksons with the Police because of this other salesmanship aggressive behaviour. However we got our money back after waiting nearly 6 weeks and arranging a holiday which we had to cancel. The Customer service is disgraceful and to threaten a 70 year old is absolutely shocking. I owned the Grange Hotel at Balbeggie also my own business would never have treated a customer the way Dicksons treated myself and my husband. They obviously have no sales experience and just talked a lot of garbage to fob me off. Anyone who is thinking of buying from Dicksons beware. Lies from them from start to finish. However we purchased a caravan with another dealer and drove away with the caravan the same day delighted. Beware ............Mr.and Mrs Scott

In response to this review. We had a date which I have confirmation of that the caravan was due to go out on 01/08/2021 which was a week after the customers came into the office. Unfortunately we had a covid outbreak where the workshop had to close for 10 days for all our staffs safety. This 10 days delay unfortunately had a knock on effect for all customers motorhomes and caravans which were due to go out. The customers were aware of this. We were going to allow this to go out with a gas safety check to help the customers out however on doing this we found out this we found out the control unit had failed so a new one was to be put in. So there would be the standard 10 day delay due to the virus after trying our best to move the goalposts for the customer we could not release the van with nothing working. As the customers came in the husband came in and starting shouting towards Mr Dickson and squaring up to him in the middle of the pitch with other customers in view. Mr Dickson explained the situation but to no avail. Unfortunately the husband was not calming down, one of the sales staff had to step in as for Mr Dicksons safety only to try and calm the situation where the customer showed more threatening behaviour where our admin lady could hear this confrontation and was ready to call the police as we have this all on CCTV. A refund was offered with no hesitation from the get go. After Mr Dickson had to go and take 10 minutes before appearing due to the aggressive behaviour of the customer. He then appeared to do the refund with no hesitation to the customers wife. His wife was very apologetic of her husbands behaviour, who said “you should try living with him” in meaning her husband, all we could do was console the wife and wish them all the best with the new caravan which they were getting privately which would not need to go through the checks which a dealer would need to do. We are very glad the customers managed to get a van. There was mention of 10 weeks in the above review which is another false allegation. Without the workshop closure the van would have had every chance of being ready but unfortunately COVID does not reason with anybody. In the end after the behaviour of the customers we are glad the customers managed to get a van elsewhere. We are very sorry the van would have been delayed I wish there was something we could do to have pulled the rabbit out of the hat but customers safety is paramount and we would not be prepared to release a van without all the relevant electrical and gas checks with a new control panel consumer board needing to go in. We will not be using Dickson's again.we bought a 13reg in August and it was a horrible experience from the first time we met Chris to trade in our old 05 fiat. Poor service and had to wait for Chris to turn up for the hand over and it was not ready we had to wait 2hours for workshop to get it ready.then problem after problem and thy wasn't able to fix.. so asked Tim for trade in but was hesitant to commit to price and delivery of a new van . Poor service.
Honest review of my dealings with this company. Elderly father owned his motorhome from new. Randomly 2 men come to his house and ask if he wishes to sell. The men claim they are tree surgeons and urgently need a van to work up north as their previous van was vandalised. My father was thinking of selling in the future and after calling me to assist in the negotiations a price was agreed. My father was happy with the price and was pleased it was going to someone who needed it. I have to say the men were polite and friendly and although persistent didn't apply any underhand pressure on my father to sell although I was there at all times to support him. A few weeks later I see the vehicle on the Dicksons of Perths website at 12k more than they paid my father with a description of the vehicle as having "1 previous lady owner". My issue here is not with the price paid as I understand everyone has to make a profit but I do have a dissatisfaction and disappointment in the way the vehicle was obtained and is currently being advertised. I gave Dicksons the opportunity to get back to me and amend the advert over 2 weeks ago but have heard nothing.

So I think your horrible review is to be posted about the outfit you sold the motorhome to too cheaply as this was not us. If your company had absolutely nothing to do with the purchase of the van from my father then I fully accept this review is partly unfair and I am happy to amend. Like I say I did contact you directly firstly when you had the van for sale but nobody responded. I assumed this incorrectly meant you did have something to do with the purchase. It still doesn't explain why it was advertised by you as having "one lady owner" surely if you have the registration documents you can see it only had one owner ever, a man? You also didn't amend the van advert in all the time it was for sale after I contacted you to advise you of this.? I have several screen shots on different days of the advert. If you can explain how this might have happened I will be more than happy to take this review down. Many thanks

I recently purchased a new Auto-Sleeper Broadway from Dicksons Of Perth. Chris who I dealt with was the most helpful and knowledgeable person I have spoken to when visiting various dealers. He really helped us in the purchase of our new vehicle. We did have an issue with the control panel after our first couple of trips. This however was dealt with exceptionally quickly by Niki who sent us out a new control panel next day to our nearest dealer as we live some 5 hours away. Dicksons even paid for the fitting of the new panel. Extremely impressed overall. Would recommend to anyone looking to purchase a motorhome or campervan.
I have now purchased my fourth motorhome from this outfit and could not have been more pleased. I have always received a great service and good part exchange prices. All I can do is recommend and will be back again (in a few years) for my next one. All the best guys.
