Purchased a vehicle advertised with a brand new engine over three months ago for £12500. The engine suffered catastrophic failure that same day, I didn’t make it home. Professional diagnosis has been supplied to Direct Car Sales Limited but they have offered no support, financial compensation or final resolution to rectify said failing. They have not conducted themselves in line with their own complaints procedure, nor respecting the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Case now being progressed to the court.

Purchased a vehicle from this dealer on 3/8/24 for £12500. Managed to cover 121 miles on my way home before suffering catastrophic engine failure only a few hours after purchasing the vehicle. Called the dealer to have the vehicle recovered, received no reply, despite being informed they offer a 24hr breakdown recovery service. Emailed the following day with details, requesting a refund under the Consumer Rights Act. Received an initial response offering no support, now radio silence. Case being escalated to the Ombudsman and will most likely end up in court. I will update the outcome.

Don’t bother with this dealership, bought my car from them 2 years ago with an engine light that popped up the second I got home, they denied all knowledge of it and refused to give me my money back. Caused me two years of issues and a lot of money and I’ve still not got to the bottom of it. The son, George, was rude and wanted nothing to do with me. Untrustworthy

I cannot fault the service at Direct Car Sales. Simon goes the extra mile. We traveled from Darlington to Ashford to get the right car, which was better than expected. Calls and text were answered without delay. There was plenty of fuel in the car for our onward journey and it was a hot day, we were given a bottle of water! I would recommend wholeheartedly and will be happy to buy my next car from Simon too.

It was a long journey down to Direct Car Sales after finding the car online but it was worth it, the car was exactly as described and more than lived up to my expectation, the man I dealt with was very professional, he appreciated that I'd traveled a long way and made sure everything was ready for when I arrived. I recommend them to anyone.
