Please do not touch with your longest handled slippery bargepole, Doug comes across as well informed,pleasant, nice chap....Haa no,he's not...I p/x my Renault Kangoo van which I drove from Portsmouth to Derby in good faith,I put a New mot on which he asked for... , picked up a subaru legacy, 12 months MOT, it only had 11..he'd hosed it down, that was about it, plus maybe done a bare minimal service,ill get back to that... I drove the car back home.. im normally very fastidious but I didn't look under the bonnet till I got home in the morning....,looked under bonnet, quick look around, fan/drive Ac belt was in bits, shredded,at this point I immediately phoned Doug who was of course mortified lol,.. I can't believe this Martin, its my reputation on the line,I'll be bollicking the garage.... , benefit of the doubt, this chap sounded top notch... Anyway I thought simple enough job, couldn't be doing with immediate garage costs or being off work/road for a day., fixed it myself no prob.. .The very next a puncture, or slow one.. Two slits in the back huge chunk taken out the n/s, to be fair the chap who looked at the tyre said the n/s chunk was OK but when he looked at back game over... This lovely chap promised me the cost of repair to fanbelt, got really sweary and animated the nxt day about the puncture, never received nothing off him yet lol, cheers Doug... Ps needs a new clutch aswell plus flywheel another £1000 plus on top

Sorry to read you actually bought a car from these clowns. Strange thing is DBC appears to have been dormant since Feb 2018. I eventually got £100 deposit back through my bank but I pity anyone who actually challenges their supperior knowledge
I am in the car trade and have dealt with Mick at Douglas Bell Cars buying and selling between us. For many years. Mick is a very straight guy to deal with. There’s no bulls@@t with him. You could not meet a more brutally honest guy. He does not suffer fools gladly and unfortunately as a motor trader, we do have to deal with quite a few. I can assure you that I KNOW Mick goes the extra mile to ensure all his vehicles are as good as possible.. People MUST remember that they are buying a machine that in a lot of cases is a good number of years old. Despite our best efforts, things go wrong.. Some of the comments I have read on here have infuriated me. The people involved Must remember good manners cost nothing.

thanks for that dave and for anyone interested I didn't ask anyone to write this review but im glad many people do appreciate us . we sell 30 vehicles per month and yes we don't always know what fortune besets these vehicles . many of the negative comments are mainly cheap px cars to clear so unfair comments anyway . im glad we have glowing ebay feedback and autotrader feedback on mainly our retail cars . thanks agaion dave appreciated hope your doing ok

Yes I found mick honest and knowledgeable the car I bought from him seems spot on the trouble is some people want new car for little money
Anyone with any real sense will would avoid Douglas Bell Cars like the plague.

I purchased a Mercedes from Mick last week and found it to be a great car. I had one issue on the drive home but with a phone call to Mick the problem was resolved immediately. I found Mick to be friendly,polite and helpful. I would not hesitate to buy another car from Douglas Bell Cars again.
Bought this 2009 40.000 MLS ford fusion 1.4tdci it was 100% as advertised, like a new car. Cracking price. Couldn't fault vehicle, Nice guys sorted out tax warranty, temp insurance. Highly recommend Douglas Bell Cars.

I have just had my td5 land rover discovery in grey from these guys and they have been the best guys to deal with and very helpful i will defo go back to do business with honest guys i have ever meet all the best from ian.
I purchased a landrover td5 from Douglas Bell after weeks of searching I came across Douglas bell . The cars were presented better than any I had viewed they nee the product and I purchased a 2004 td5 I have covered over 800 miles in the last 3 weeks and no issues . They took my ford mondeo in px and gave me a fair deal . Thanks again best regards Matt h

We bought a 2003 Range Rover Vogue from Douglas Bell Cars 3 weeks ago. He advertised it as immaculate, and it was immaculate. Three days after buying it I took it to our mechanic of 15 years who told us that it was 'like a new car, with not a spot of rust underneath.' You have to be careful of where you buy in this day and age, but I can't praise DBC enough. The other cars looked great as well. Definitely recommend

after reading comments about Douglas Bell Cars I was a little bewildered as to the feedback on ebay so I called and discussed with them and my mind was at rest when I visited said shed in a field only to be greeted with nothing but respectful and a very cheerful chap . I had a choice of landys to view in this well lit well organised shed and I was left alone to choose . the car was presented better than any other I had viewed and serviced / valeted and motd then dropped to my door . I couldn't have asked for better service so im supposing everyone has there off days . thanks again guys from the welsh wizard aka trev watkins
