Thankfully I did`nt buy the XTrail from Douglas Bell Cars equally crooked outfit CarbuyerUK but was verbally and nearly psychically assaulted upon pointing out faults with said vehicle. Michael McAuliffe can only be described as a foul mouthed aggressive bully. I was promised my £100 holding fee was refundable if not happy for what ever reason, well I found a reason and guess what I am being ignored, To be told I know nothing about cars is very funny as I have been a trained master/diagnostic technician for 20 years now!! Trading standards are being contacted as I will not be ignored. BUYER BEWARE

Thankfully avoided buying a car from Douglas Bell Cars. Deposit paid in good faith with the promise of it being returned (gave all the nice usual patter) if not totally happy with car bla bla bla, turns out that's a total lie and became very rude on the phone and then hung up refusing to answer my calls to discuss. Reporting to trading standards for blatantly lying on the phone and then refusing to honour his agreement. Very lucky escape I didn't actually buy a car from this place, stay well away from DBC Derby!

Great sounding car on eBay auto trader On the phone sound professional left deposit and told if car wasn’t what it was advertised money refunded as car sounded well looked after and maintained I did WHAT A MISTAKE !!!!!!!!!!! Was expecting to turn up at a looked after unit as they say it’s a land rover distribution site not a shed in the middle of nowhere and with not a bunch of clapped out land rovers Turned up poor Customer service is an understatement talk about rude and ill mannered Looked over car asked for test drive was met with annoyance for asking Got in the car and 4 mins after driving off Boy did he go nuts when I mentioned I’d noticed a few faults and the inaccurate hand written receipts And documents said to relate to car but reading through wasn’t !!!!! The bumper on rear was held on by screws and damaged underneath with bits hanging down Yet in good condition Was met with further hostility and further aggro when asked for deposit back and when I rang the other guy I got polite question of who I was followed by a rant and the phone slammed down to which I will be contacting trading standards and the inland revenue as tried to find info on the car buyer uk and website they promote and non existent After reading the other reviews I was lucky not to buy the car these reckon to have years of experience yet asked us what colour the oil was if head gasket went

Seriously, don't go near Douglas Bell Cars. No idea how these guys sleep at night, they are a disgrace. But if you want you and your family's safety put at risk then knock yourself out.

Partner bought a car from Douglas Bell Cars as advertised on a website looked fine paid deposit and collected a few day later, After a week or so while doing the school run the car just stopped on the middle of the road and started to flash gear box faulty as you can appreciate wife wasn't happy had to call out rac and get the car towed back home, was informed by the rac mechanic that their was possible issues with the clutch and the gear box which would be very expensive to repair and to contact the dealer if possible, we have tried to contact mr bell many times without any success and are now stuck with a vehicle that is no good, we regret buying from him and feel that we have been sold a vehicle that was not sound, we are going to seek legal advice and take action and try to recover our Money back. Be very careful buying your car from this dealer.

Bought a car from Douglas Bell Cars and paid top book price, since ive found out its not top book car. A plastic strip was fitted to cover serious rust issues over the top of the window screen, another dealer stated thats obviously been put there recently to cover the rust!. It was advertised as full service history yet upon closed look ive since found a 40k mile period with no records! Car developed problems and 4 weeks later im still waiting to get them fixed. Not happy!

Being 200 miles away in Kent I asked Mr Bell for a description of the vehicle before I committed to a long train journey to purchase it. He gave me a detailed list of it's good and bad points to the best of his knowledge. His assessment was 100% accurate and as a consequence I bought the vehicle with my eyes wide open. There were no hidden surprises. It is an excellent vehicle with which I'm very pleased and I knew exactly what I was buying before I even turned up. Mr Bell picked me up from the station and was quite happy to run me back there if I didn't end up buying the vehicle. A very honest and helpful trader (which is a rare thing) and there was absolutely no pressure applied to try and clinch the deal. I had as much time as I wanted to look over the vehicle on my own. Douglas Bell Cars are highly recommended.

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU BUY FROM THIS DEALER-TAKE CAR FOR TEST DRIVE AND THOROUGH INSPECTION-POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE-BEWARE. I DO NOT RECOMMEND DOUGLAS BELL CARS
