Just purchased an MG3 Hybrid + from Drive MG. Everything went very smoothly from start to finish. They had the car in stock in the colour and specification I was looking for and I was able to complete the purchase by phone and on line without needing to travel until when I collected the car and drove it away. Dan Lamminman provided all the information that I needed and ensured that I had a great (and carefree) experience. I would definitely recommend Dan and Drive MG Bristol North for anyone looking to purchase an MG.

I recently purchased a car from Drive Direct Bristol North, sharing with them the intention of obtaining a car suitable for starting a family and accommodating our newborn baby. During the test drive, everything seemed fine. However, after running the air conditioning whist driving it home and a few trips in the car, we were hit with an overpowering stench of stale cigarettes. It became clear that all the seats reeked of smoke and cling onto all our belongings in the car, something that must have been very heavily masked with fragrances while the car was on the forecourt to hide this fault. Being 5 months pregnant, I found the smell unbearable. It gave me severe headaches and made me feel nauseous, rendering the car unusable for me. We reported the issue to the dealer well with 48 hours of owning the car, but they refused to offer a full refund or swap the car for another of the same value. Despite several deep cleans and a 5-6 hour ‘odour elimating’ fogging session, the smell very much persisted. What’s more frustrating is that the dealer knew we were purchasing the car for our baby and failed to highlight that the previous owner had smoked in it; a disclosure that many reputable and honest dealerships would make, especially when the odour would have been very obvious upon the car’s arrival to the garage. This is clearly not suitable for a newborn baby and dealer was not prepared to help at all, not even an exchange for a car of the same value but instead offering us a price which was £1,600 less than what we paid not even 3 days prior. To make matters worse, the sales manager had no empathy and clearly did not care about quality customer service.. He claimed to “understand” our situation but was not prepared to even try and resolve the issue for us. The Exec who sold us the car was much better, apologising and expressing his guilt for the situation he had left us in but unfortunately had no power over the outcome. Adding insult to injury, the car is now back up for sale at the same price we paid for it, proving they would have regained the full amount if they had issued a refund. This is a classic example of a car garage that doesn’t care once they’ve got your money. This experience has been extremely stressful and disappointing, especially during such an important time for our family. We do have another car which we are looking to swap, however I will most definitely not be returning. I would strongly advise against purchasing from Drive Retail Bristol North, if you value honesty and quality customer service.

Took my MG for M.O.T. and service via service plan. I noticed that the heater was not getting very hot , so asked if the mechanic, as he was driving car could see if it was hot or not. I was told that I had to pay £132 for checking this and if they found that it was warranty then I would not be charged. All I wanted was someone to just switch hearter on and see if it was blowing hot or cold air and if it was cold air then I would then pay for a diagonstic check. Dana the service receptionist said that she would phone me in morning if it needed a diagonstic check and then I could agree too the £132. No phone came and when I telephoned later on in day they said that service and MOT all done but not heater as I had not agreed to pay. When I picked car up I asked to speak to service manager. It was like talking to a brick wall. Yes I appreciate that I should not be getting a free diagonstic check, but I was not asking for one. Just two seconds as they are driving car to see if it needed a further check. That was all. As it turned out it just needed water topped up, so I would have paid £132 just to top water level. On getting home I read the service report and it stated that they could not checked condition of spare wheel in boot as the boot was full. IT HAD 5 EMPTY CARRIER BAGS IN BOOT. I telephoned Vauxhall and spoke to a person who stated that he was service manager. I believe that to be a lie as it did not sound like the the service manager I spoke to face to face earlier. He said his staff were not there to clear things out of way to check in boot. They did not have the time to do this. 5 EMPTY CARRIER BAGS took time. As I said its was like talking to a brick wall. No customer service at all. If this was first time I had problems with Drive Vauxhall Filton Bristol ok, but I have had lots of problems with them throughout the years on other cars I have bought. This has been the 6th car I have bought from them, but it will be my last. My friend also has a MG and his key kept draining the fob battery every 4 days. He was told that unless he paid £132 they would not look at it. He was stuck so paid and he was lucky that it was a faulty key, but they tried to tell him that this was not under warranty. Lucky the warranty department said it was. Do not use this dealership if you have any sense. Sales people fantastic, service department firstly need a better service manager and then better trained service personel.
Not happy that had are car since the beginning of October told them that we are going on holiday from the middle of October so to email us as we have not herd from them I email them come back o we been ringing the house phone we need to take out parts befor we go ahead 250 pounds for 2 house work yes go ahead than it think a wire is lose have to wait to get the car up on the ramp than something else Thursday the last time that I phone up still not had now come back said it could be end of nxts week not good enough ten weeks comeing up this was to be sorted Monday 20 we are both registered disability still no car
This dealership have turned me off ever purchasing a vauxhall again, their inability to diagnose and repair the simplest of faults under warranty never failed to amaze me, and as for the dealership body repair shop, what a joke, the worst quality repair you could ever imagine, returned on three occasions to get the repair put right, now the repair is rusting, DO NOT USE
This filton branch are thieves and liars of the lowest quality, especially that phil , you pay £80.10 for a service, and then you end up paying twice , will they sort the problem out? No , amd that Phil is the worse kind , he is a liar and a thief , they will try a d bully you in to buying something you do now need or want, please stay away from drive vauxhall, especially Filton where that scanderal Phil work.
