Disgusted with this seller and will never use again and will advise my friends and locals on social media of my problems . £2500 spent on a car for it to cost me an extra £400 to fix ac . Car had to take over 2 litre of engine oil days after purchasing, brakes squealing , problems with exhaust , passenger door wouldn’t open from inside , had to come up 3 times first time taking day of work to be told mechanic hadn’t turned up for work can u come back tomorrow. U fixed door and welded exhaust . All I get is it’s 14 years old which is all good I expect rust , dents , scratches but dont expect the problems I’ve had with other things ie engine , ac (mechanical side of things) if u had told me the car would have been £2.5k and 400 to fix I would not have purchased this car . They say keep things local well u have truely put me off keeping things local in the future I will go to bigger car sales for next purchase .
My partner made the unfortunate mistake by going to work for this company. He seen cars sold that he had told owner not to sell as engine was knocking, car sold anyway. He had to go recover car from the bypass as it broke down with the owner 4 days later.. over charged repairs to the warranty company in some cases charging the customer and warranty company.... fraudulent claims.Asking or demanding corner cutting to save money. Telling customers cats have been serviced when in reality only getting a check over. All of this rested heavily on my partner until he had a mental breakdown. While he was signed of by doctor was told he was sacked and no longer had a job. All the time owner blaming my partner and not once caring for his mental health. The owner of the garage is a crook and a fraudster who only cares about taking people's money from them. After he's paid the customer is treated like a piece of muck on his shoe. The owner filled my partners position with a guy who .....well let's just say criminal who possibly should not hold a mot certification due to the nature of his recent criminal activity. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE HEART ACHE AND MONEY LOSS walk on by and don't spend your hard earned cash in this establishment.

Where do I start? Bought a Mercedes for 5.5k in August, it’s now worth no more than scrap. It was a 2008 plate so a bit older but only had 100k on the clock and everything seemed fine, fast forward to early November and it’s goosed. Despite it still being under warranty they won’t do anything about it and aren’t interested. If you want my advice avoid them at all costs they sell death traps, don’t fall victim to them like it did. Wish I had read all the other bad reviews beforehand. Reported to AA, trading standard, financial ombudsman and other organisations. Garage is run by 2 old dudes that are not only rude but completely clueless when it comes to cars.
Don’t do it! Our car was purchased 10 weeks ago for £5.5k and it’s not roadworthy. It’s to cost £3.5k to get it sorted. The manager is very abusive when you contact him. He screams and shouts and hangs up on you. I’m in total shock!! He’s threatening me with a lawyers letter for questioning the condition the car was sold and this is all with 6 months warranty which is invalid. Reported him to Bluechip And intend to let all know of the showdy goods and service.

bought the car last year. it was 7 years old then. marcus and the gang charged me 6.5k for the car. the appeal was the make, model, the low mileage and no tax. the sales rep is quite arrogant and can be pushy possibly because he wants your cash and the whole interaction over and done with quickly. i will admit that at the point of purchase the cars spec was the best option but there was a few snagging aftersales issues to which this crew did not help with. their wee car labels should read - dunwell motors, buy from us and you will be! i would strongly suggest that anyone even considering buying a car from these crooks thinks again! even the 'warranty' thats attached is worthless as is the ' free AA membership'.

I can't understand how they are still trading, if you manage to get a decent car from them then this is down to luck only! I bought a car for may daughter and it didn't even make it home...money totally wasted. Reported to DVLA, trading standards etc etc, the owner is a con-man!
Marcus Thomson from Dunwell Motor Group in response to DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY
Hi Anonymous I feel this may be a fake review as had your car not made it home you could have got your money back under the Consumers Rights Act 2015 had we been a nightmare however I'm not like that and would have bent over backwards to help or buy the car back if you had a problem on the way home. Thanks for the review anyway

SA53 VW Polo - check your records, I wouldn't waste my time writing a fake review but if i can save some other unfortunate person from everything that I went through then it's time well spent
Marcus Thomson from Dunwell Motor Group in response to DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY
Hi Yeah I know the vehicle, if I remember correctly it was sold of as a trade-in however if id heard from you regarding this we would have helped even though it was a 18 year old trade-in.
anonymous in response to DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY
NO! There was NO part exchange, i was looking for a cheap run around for my young daughter. You remember wrongly. In fact I went to court and then instructed a bailiff to recover my money, we NEVER took the car back after returning it. Unfortunately Terry your dodgy partner managed to talk his way round the bailiff and get out of paying on a technicality. So I stopped pursuing. People should know what they're dealing with. Basically you saw the opportunity to rip off a young woman who had no clue about buying a car. Well done you! If you're so bothered by may review (and believe me I will never let this lie) then you can trace me no problem and make proper reparations.
appalling aftersales care and overpriced in response to DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY
excellent review and i can believe without a shadow of a doubt the appalling experience and treatment you received from these crooks.
great company to deal with highly recommended
Marcus Thomson from Dunwell Motor Group in response to great to deal with a family business
Thank you George appreciate the review.
You need to ask yourself why a garage with bad reviews would sell a car with 6 months mot when they have an mot station and for safety sake you would recheck vehicle that may have had a questionable mot elsewhere these cars are sold to people with families and you would think for the sake of £50 or £60 it would be the least they could do Take note dunwell do your job right or the bad reviews will keep on coming
Marcus Thomson from Dunwell Motor Group in response to 6 month mot 🤨 questionable
Hi Duncan The 6 months aren't questionable, its just what the AA recommends as guidelines being a part of the AA approved garage. They mention we must give a minimum of 6 month mot which is what we do, it is on our website as well. As for having an MOT station, this is not true as we have pulled away from MOT and use a local garage to us for them now. Had you phoned to discuss any issues i could have mentioned this over the phone. Many Thanks

dunwell motor group are crooks.
I bought a car from Dunwell motor group and within 2 weeks the car engine warning light came on, although under warranty the salesman/owner Marcus was very unhelpful and unwilling to pay more the his ‘maximum’ of £200 to fix this. After several calls back and forth and reluctance to provide help and with me having to fork out my money to help get it fixed along with many other issues my dealings ended with a very abusive phone call from Marcus swearing and shouting at me. I have logged a formal complaint with the 3rd party car company that I purchased the car through but I would never recommend or go near this business again. I am yet to have my car thoroughly checked for my peace of mind as I am not confident that my car does not require further work/fixing. They also do not have a complaints policy and any complaints made go straight to Marcus for review.

Marcus Thomson from Dunwell Motor Group in response to Terrible service
Hi Pamela Your coil pack in you Vauxhall Astra did become faulty resulting in an EML light in the first 2 weeks, Vauxhall coil packs go faulty for fun as they are rubbish but luckily very cheap as well and very easy to replace so don't let that put off any future Vauxhall owners. However it wasn't great when you had only had the car a couple weeks and I did do my best by phoning garages to book you in to get it repaired since we were 100 plus miles away. I found a garage who could get a new one fitted but you beat me to it and went to your local one who wanted £250!!! for a coil pack, I wasn't willing to pay this as they are £60 and had it sorted with another garage but you demanded your garage had to do the job. There was a stand off and you couldn't understand why I wasn't willing to pay so much for a coil pack and that's why I offered £200 which was still more than enough. However I didn't shout so don't appreciate that but you were not the easiest customer to deal with as the demanding messages flew in on the Sunday (my only day off) However hope you are well and the car is going good. Thanks for the review.
Pamela Duncan in response to Terrible service
Just a reply to Marcus the conman, your response is incorrect and your memory clearly not very good. You were given several chances to find a suitable garage but you refused, you shouted and swore at me and got very irate with me. You point blank refused to pay over £200 as you said in your words “I cannot authorise any payments over £200” even though my car was under warranty and you were clearly not willing to help, the only way to get my car fixed was to agree to pay the remainder and you paid the £200. You even was rude to the very helpful local garage that fixed my car. However after complaining to car 24/7 about your “service” I was compensated out of their pocket. You are a rude conman and the reviews speak for them self. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND!!!!!!
Marcus Thomson from Dunwell Motor Group in response to Terrible service
Hi Pamela Responding to your response. Not sure what I conned you out of as I only dealt with your coil pack issue that we resolved and paid. Shouting and swearing isn't something I would do however I admit I was getting irate at trying to resolve the difficult situation of just trying to pay and repair your vehicle reasonably and at a reasonable price. The situation was made a lot more difficult than it needed to be.
My son bought his first car here a waste of £5k warning light within a week and £1k repair required which he now can’t afford also lied about sending us a second key. Agree with previous repair they are nice till they get your cash
