Absolute cowboys selling absolute bangers. Bunch of crooks. Stay well clear. Changing their company name- not surprised. I went there via a 3 hour train journey to buy a van and drive it home. It was nowhere near their description. It didn't even have a handbrake. Yet they stood there and tried to tell me it was great van. Panels had been painted with a brush. Banger. Cowboys. Crooks. Great place to go for a massive dissapointment - thats the only guarantee you'll get from them. I actually felt threatened in their presence.

Arranged to view a car on Sunday, coming from irvine at least hour and half drive. Called the night before to make sure all ok for next day. He said yes thats fine call 10 mins before arriving. Got near he said oh not in wont be back till 7pm that night. Time waster and cowboys. Avoid EMI Imports and Exports at all cost

ATAT in response to Time waster
They have actually "rebadged" as Woodlands Van Centre Ltd., a company that has generally positive reviews on this website but does not seem to be in operation any longer, which is obviously a ploy to distance themselves from the horrendous reviews for EMI Imports. Woodlands Van Centre also registered in owners wife or sisters name.

Correct- EMI Imports and Exports now trading as Woodlandsvansales Kirkcaldy . You would be better putting a match to your ££££ than hand it over to these cowboys for the scrap they sell!!!!-YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!!!

First of all- the good reviews part way through here all resemble each other- clearly an EMI Imports and Exports of Kirkcaldy attempt to lift their rating! I bought a car here with 1 dodgy years MOT (garage through the West on MOT) but when checked by garage it had over £1000 worth of work required to be at a legitimate MOT standard including dangerous things like corroded brake pipes. Along with everyone else whos mentioned it my receipt had spares or repairs put on it without advertising or telling me it was that. They appear to be from travellers background and you dont ever know who the boss is, always just lackys 'running the place'. How these folk are allowed to be trading I will never know.

AP in response to Selling Scrap with Dodgy MOTs, Avoid!
This is the boss, a charming individual by all accounts https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4773902/Father-launches-foul-racist-rant-KIDS-party.html The positive reviews do seem fabricated but even if they weren't the percentage of dangerous and unroadworthy vehicles that have been flagged up is unbelievable. I would suggest you sue to get your money back, they are legally obliged to refund within 30 days of sale.
To buy from EMI Imports and Exports you have to be mad, from the start it is just scrap that he sells on ebay and does not give a toss just about lining his own pockets.

Bought a car from EMI Imports and Exports in November that broke down within 30 minutes of purchase-broken drive shaft while doing 60 mph on an A road. The power completely went. Asked for my money back and was refused by the owner. Had to employ a lawyer to demand the money back which worked, but the full amount was £50 short. Clearly this person saw that as a victory.

Bought a car from EMI Imports & Exports, sneaked sold as seen on the invoice, never had the v5, said it hadn't arrived back yet, never sent on, so I now have to pay for a new one, avoid these folk, I will.

I purchased a minibus from EMI Imports & Exports and was the biggest mistake of my life. It came with 12 months MOT however when I was driving back home to Stirling it nearly didn't stop at a roundabout. To my horror I looked underneath to find a puddle of what appeared to be brake fluid. I rang step toes yard (the garage) only to be told it's a shame it did stop. The brake pipes turned out to be rotten with one burst. It would appear that these are buying direct from auction and selling them on without fully checking them over. Buyer beware and shop around.
Went to view a car at EMI Imports & Exports this morning, first impressions of the sales staff were not good. We were met at the gate by a guy, who was going into the yard at the same time, assumed he was either one of the partners or sales staff, he struggled to show us to the vehicle we wanted to look at as he was constantly on his mobile phone. We asked for the car to be started, he went to get the key and someone else came with the key, car battery had no life in it and therefore wouldn't start, a mechanic appeared with the booster leads and needed two sets of leads to start the car. This 2nd guy spent almost all of his time with us on one of his two phones. Couldn't answer any of the questions put to him by my husband, eg didn't know any of the MOT history, or what it would need to pass an MOT. After about 10 mins of listening to him speaking on his phone and virtually ignoring us we walked away, and will definitely not be back.
