Had a servicing quote from this garage and it is actually cheaper to pay to get the car ferry to the mainland and get your car serviced at a main dealer and still have money to spare, obviously holding people on the island to ransom. Customer service is poor, email them a question with 3 queries and they barely answer one, parts department extremely poor as well, ordered an item and when I went back to collect they knew nothing of it, apologised and said they would send it to me as an apology and guess what, nothing. The overall dealership manager needs to go back to basics, service, communication and doing what they are asked to do, not hard is it esplanade?.

I have been waiting now for 3 weeks for a reply to my letter & e mail To The Managing Director of Esplanade Mr.Paul Collier situated in Jersey, Channel Islands.( I have not yet received so much as an acknowledgment to this yet) My complaint had been passed over dismissively by the General manager and Service manager of the Newport Isle of Wight showroom. In my opinion this company is sales orientated and the after sales service is poor. I have been a customer of theirs now for more than10 years and myself and family have purchased several V W cars. Years ago I had a hand brake fault on the VW car I owned at this time they were unable or unwilling to find the fault. This led to an accident. Even then they stated there was not a problem until a fault light eventually came on. More recently I collected my present car after its annual service and experienced a warning light on the way home, The engineer had changed the tyre pressure and not re-set the computer. On returning home, the car was not used for a few days and was parked in the grounds of our home. On returning from a trip out to the local town I noticed that oil had been leaking from the engine onto the grassed area where it had been parked. On exiting and then returning to our driveway, oil had leaked over our brand new £11000 driveway. I received all sort of excuses for the problem on the phone but when the car was returned was told a completely different reason for the problem and also that the engine had been cleaned after they had corrected the fault. This was not the case, one ltr. of oil was still to be found on the engine bottom protective plate. They did eventually send a contractor to my home to try and clean the drive but this just caused more damage. So at this time I am left with a car that has its sponge lining from the plate missing and a damaged driveway that luck would have it, I have now persuaded the people that installed the driveway 18 months ago to resurface (because the scrubbing machine the Esplanade's contractor had used, had taken up some of the loose surface of the tarmac), under its guarantee. I have now decided to not use Esplanade again and hope that this revue is found by others as a warning of what they might expect from purchasing from and using the service department of Esplanade Ltd. Newport ,Isle of Wight.
