WE HAVE JUST PURCHASED A VAUXHALL GRANDLAND FROM THE BARKERS LANE DEALERSHIP IN BEDFORD. THEY SAY PEOPLE BUY FROM PEOPLE AND THE SALES LADY WHO WE DEALT WITH WAS CALLED ELINA AND SHE WAS ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT. SHE HELPED FIND THE MAKE AND MODEL WE WERE LOOKING FOR WITH A VERY LOW MILEAGE OF ABOUT 6,000 MILES FOR A 2017 PLATE. THE PRICE WAS ACCEPTABLE AND WE WERE GIVEN A FAIR PRICE FOR OUR PART EXCHANGE. SHE EXPLAINED EVERYTHING PERFECTLY FOR US AND GUIDED US EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. I MUST OF TELEPHONED HER 20 TIMES ASKING QUESTIONS AND SHE WAS ALWAYS AVAILABLE TO TALK TO. ON THE DAY WE PICKED UP THE NEW SHE HAD IT ALL READY AND WAITING FOR US, FULLY VALETED AND ALL THE PAPERWORK IN ORDER. SHE AGAIN EXPLAINED EVERYTHING IN DETAIL TO US. THE CAR DRIVES PERFECTLY AND WE ARE VERY PLEASED WITH IT, BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY WE WOULD DEFINITELY RETURN TO THIS DEALERSHIP AS LONG AS ELINA IS STILL WORKING THERE. THIS IS A TRUE REVIEW OF OUR PERSONAL EXPERIENCE WITH EVANS HALLSHAW AND IN PARTICULAR THE LADY WHO LOOKED AFTER US. A GREAT CAR AT A GOOD PRICE WITH EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND CARE.

We have just completed our 4th purchase from Mr Steven Morris at Evan's Halshaw and we are always very happy with the service we receive! Paul the sales man will tell you everything you want to hear when you want to buy the car but only says things to get sales, also took my car in and the manager took my car home and to work everyday to “test” fault got my car back with white thread on tyres due to it been abused by manager
I found the perfect car after months of searching and messaged Newport dealer straight away to see if it could be moved nearer to me. They rang next day saying they were keen to deal directly with me on the sale but issue but could arrange to move the car but I'd need to arrange with Bedford dealer so I rang them and paid a £100 reserve fee and was told it should take 4-5 days. Was so excited! Then they called me this afternoon to say the car was sold last night by another store, which seems a massive coincidence! Probably poor management of their systems or something more shady! What a total waste of my time and am now back to square one of my search. Should have listened to all the bad reviews and avoided at all costs!!! 😠😠

Part exchanged an Astra J back in May at Evans Halshaw Vauxhall in Bedford for a 66 plate Astra k I seemed to fall out with salesman as I didn’t need to know about finance he got cross as said he had to explain it I said I didn’t need it so no point in going over it. He left the table and his manager came over to speak to me talk about telling tales! On collection he showed me where the car was and gave me the key he didn’t even come to the car to check I was ok with it. Not impressed. Then I noticed the tracking was out so got it independently checked they told me one of the front tyres was worn and illegal. I contacted EH and they eventually sent me a cheque without seeing my bill. The car then developed a fault the engine management light was on they couldn’t find the fault after a week. ( I was given a courtesy car) I said I need a reliable car so had to change it this was after 2 months. I was limited to what Astra’s they had in my price range which was the total value of what I had already paid. The second car was an 18 plate 1.4 without the turbo seemed ok on test drive but in reality absolutely dangerous as no power at all quite often nothing under the accelerator made pulling away from junctions very hesitant and dangerous. I was lucky enough to have a personal contact there where she gave me her number if I had any problems I called her and said I have to change cars again. Back I went this time the car a 68 plate 1.0 turbo cost me an extra £1300 but they let me off the £99 admin charge! while looking around it in the rain following a test drive the chap I saw first who I fell out with was bringing out a car for someone to test drive he drove past me at speed through a puddle and drowned me. I was so angry I told the lady what he’d done. Pleased with this car I drove home over the next few weeks I noticed I couldn’t reverse in it, it was like it was running on kangaroo juice I let the lady know who said bring it back. I persevered with it until one day I couldn’t reverse it without great difficulty so went back to Bedford the lady drove it out of the space and back in and said it’s fine. I said I asked you to reverse it up the roadway in the car park which she tried to do and couldn’t. She agreed there was a problem and took it straight into the workshop. I was so cross with her that I’m afraid I did shout at her as I didn’t care for her attitude. Almost in tears over all of this she arranged for my car to be collected from home and I was given an Astra to drive. The car was repaired under the warranty it involved the gearbox coming out. I was told they’d driven another 1.0 and it was the same. Looks like a recall will be happening for other drivers! There is no way that they check their cars they take them as part ex and sell them on again as my 2 other cars were sitting on their forecourt. This isn’t the first time I’ve had problems with Vauxhall’s why do I stay with them I like the cars and wouldn’t know what else to buy. My 53 plate vectra was the best 10 years 200,000 miles and never let me down. If I’ve learnt one thing fight for what’s right otherwise they will fob you off. Told it could happen even with a new car but then it would only be me driving it this car had been driven 13,000 miles!!!!!!!!
Unfortunately I purchased a vehicle from Evans Halshaw Vauxhall Bedford which is full of incompetence and self denial, even the management The vehicle was returned after 2 days for bald tyres and severely worn brake pads on a 2017 car. No courtesy car offered , a 2 hour job took 5 days. Obviously no checks done on vehicle before it was sold, no update calls regarding when car would be ready for collection..Calls made at close of business to say car would not be ready today but we will call tomorrow to update you, one update as mentioned in 5 days. The final straw was when i asked to speak to the director or as he put it im the man in charge it took him a while even to apologise and then he had the audacity to say when you are in possession of the log book, bring it in and I will refund you your money.This is what we are dealing with , we have your money we will not compensate you in any way even though they are at fault. This aftersales service operation from the top to the bottom is a shambles.
Value my car kia sportage 2017 through website for 15835 pound and asking in email id, v5 and proof of address. When I arrived at Evans Halshaw in Bedford the customer executive come outside and test the car named jurij kouac and drove the car at 80 miles on 30 miles per hour and such a scary moment. Who will pay if police stop me or make an accident when drive erratically. After that they knock down price for usual marks 15545 and i accept offer. Then they say you bought car less than a year so need an invoice for the car when i purchased 10 months ago which never asked on email. I feel they just wanted to give price but dont want to buy the product and wanna waste time. I just walk away after waste my time. Never ever again
