I bought a Ford Focus 14 automatic from them, car was driven to me not delivered like i thought it would be, car was advertised at 69k miles but turned up with 71k miles, driver clearly had been eating as there was bits of chocolate all over the gear selector and in the cup holders, found McDonalds bags under seats and clearly hadn't even hoovered it before sale. Now lets get into the details, so before sale the salesman told me full service history and that they service every car before sale (yeah right), looked under bonnet like i do with every car i buy and when a company fills your window wash with just water thats when you know they've cut corners so once i saw that it didn't surprise me the oil was on minimum same for coolant, checked my service history and it last had a service at 48k miles now keep in mind the car has 71k miles on clock....car also turned up with 3 miles to empty. My first drive i noticed the automatic gearbox felt weird but being my first automatic i assumed it was me but after 2 days it was clear the gearbox was juddering and slipping but didn't stop them driving the car to me and handing me the keys, parcel shelf was also broken, wipers didn't even clear the screen and the boot struts have failed so you have to use quite abit of force to push it up. They agreed to fix the gearbox as i had warranty but probably only paid for it all due to consumers act rather than warranty as i had only owned the car 2 days, they had me driving it to different garages, first one was Perry Ford or something who had my car 3 days without even moving it then they finally did tests then told me after 2 days Evans Halshaw won't authorise them to do it, frustratingly i went and picked my car up and the guys there told me this is always the case with EH as they cut corners and want things as cheap as possible so thats only reason they refused them to do it, day later they sent someone to drive my car back to Blackpool where the car was advertised which is 160 miles from me, so a driver driving my car with a broken gearbox over 300 mile, left me without a car for a week before giving me a Fiesta to drive. Finally after weeks i got my car back, left with half a tank of petrol and came back with 6 miles to empty which was nice of them, car also stunk of vinegar and found a fish shop fork under my seat, also had a blackbox fitted which showed me my car was being used as a garage run around while in their hands, confronting the mechanic/driver who dropped it off claimed just "test drives", need to test drive a car to see if gearbox is fixed fine but don't you dare use my car to go shops and chippies and eat in my car like its your own! they also carried out other work i didn't authorise like a new steering rack yet my steering was fine, car left turning corners with 1 finger to now needing both arms to turn a corner so they never even fitted it right and the parts weren't new. Best part about it i saw the Fiesta up for sale and marked as sold while i was driving it for a week as a courtesy car so i wonder what BS they made up to the buyer? millage stated on ad was no where close to the millage in the car. - Never serviced my car like promised twice - Never even cleaned the car - Took 4 months to get V5 i wasn't even the owner.. - Warranty pack took 4 months, tried just emailing a picture of 1 page - Sold me a car with a broken gearbox - Used my car as a garage run around - Disrespected my car in their care Now after only a year the gearbox is acting up again, turns out the powershift gearbox is prone to issues but i suppose the salesman just forgot to mention this, don't believe for a second the clutch pack they changed was a good one or even new, brand new clutch plates failing after a year and not even 4k miles? My advice is buy from a private seller which is what EH do, just offer private ads lower money for their cars then wack 2 grand on top claiming they do all these checks when they do absolutely zero checks whatsoever, they can't even hoover a car before sale yet you go on their website and look at price of cars compared to private ads on Autotrader..makes me laugh, record every conversation you have with them as well as they lie about saying things, make them prove the cars service history, check your car is serviced before sale, make them take it back and clean it, problem is they get away with rushing cars out with wild prices without doing basics as nobody says anything as its too much "hassle" for them.

Evans halshaws claim to provide the BEST prices for your car untrue I asked them to buy back a car I bought from them? Peugeot 3008 GT 2023 brand new? Cost £37500 so I could then buy their 2019 ford Kuga 14000 miles £22550 the deal they offered was they wanted my car PLUS £50 to do a deal that’s the real Evans Halshaw stay well away from this rogue dealership

When I bought the car I added a service plan. My final service was a few weeks ago and was told I needed new brake discs and wanted to charge me around £600, to which I never got them done as I was sure I'd had them done recently, skip forward a couple of weeks my MOT was done and they are not even mentioned in my advisories! I think its disgusting trying to get that kind of money out of a key worker when the work isnt required and especially the current financial climate.

Was interested in a 2019 plate car advertised on their website that was 'for sale' and apparently 'drive away today' yet on the photos there was a video too walking around the car but they never shown the engine so i decided to enquire about the car and ticked email only but got instantly called within not even 5 mins which i didn't answer so got a rude email instead, salesman sent me a "personal video" which was just his phone recording a dirty pc screen showing me the exact video that's public on the advert? after a few back and forth emails he would not show me the engine which was odd....turns out the car i was about to buy was loaned out for a week to someone over 160 mile away as a courtesy car and the millage on the advert wasn't even close to the real millage by over almost 2000 miles! loaning out brand new cars to people, god knows how they've been driven and to this day he still denies it. Ended up buying a Fiesta from them a few months later for my daughter and my god what a mess, claimed it was cleaned inside and out and serviced to their standards, inside was full of dog hair and McDonalds bags under seats, outside looked like it had been sat under trees for 5 year and engine..well....completely empty washer fluid, oil and coolant below minimum and car had no mats or parcel shelf and this is Evans Halshaw standards? you see they just rely on the previous owners to of looked after the car and just assume when they sell it you it will be fine and don't actually check! Offered me a free service that was supposed to make me grateful after it was meant to of been serviced in the first place, v5 didn't come for two months then when it did it came in my name not my daughters, clearly just rush and buy and sell cars without a single inspection or thought, few months later the cars gearbox completely went and surprise surprise its not covered under warranty, ended up dropping car back off on one of their local lots and phoned everyday for a refund and eventually got it, would never buy from Evans Halshaw again and if you do please check your car over fully as they lie and skip corners, wouldn't trust them to refill my washer fluid never mind anything else.
