Went with my son looking for his first car. didnt know where to park, cars allover the place, alot of them with no details, nobody about to ask details, very dissapointing, would not return
Back in February 2018 I rang up about a car (Seat Ibiza Cupra Semi Auto) I had seen advertised on Auto trader. I rang up on the Thursday and was told yes the car is ready to view so I arranged to come down the country to see the car on the Sunday. I was then contacted on the Saturday telling me the car hadn’t even been through prep so I would have to wait to see it. Two weeks goes by and after ringing several times I finally got told the car is ready to view. So we made the two hour trip down to Rotherham from the north east of England. As we arrived at the dealer we were told there was a problem. Obviously that’s the last thing we wanted to hear. The problem was that they didn’t actually have the V5C for the car. We viewed the car anyways and the car seemed mechanically sound so I decided to purchase the car and just wait for a new V5C to come. Fast forward another two weeks and the V5C finally arrives. So I make another journey down the country to pick the car up. Everything went smooth until I drove the car away. Within 5 minutes the engine light was on, the gearbox wasn’t changing gears and it was going into limp home mode. So I returned to the dealer and asked for it to be plugged into the diagnostics and they at first said they couldn’t but then after a bit of pushing they did the diagnostics on it... ’ Engines sweet as a nut’ and, probably just a gremlin in the system’ was the words used to describe my problem. I stupidly decided to listen to them and drive the car home. On the way home it was the same story, Engine light on and Limp Home mode on and off as well as the gearbox jumping in and out of gears. I got back home and rang the dealer the next morning. They told me to bring it back down to get it looked at. I refused as that would have been my third trip. So it was arranged for my car to go into my local Evans Halshaw branch. There was a two week wait to get my car seen at this branch but it was in there for two days and they couldn’t find a fault. So I got it booked into SG PETCH Seat at Durham. They found the problem in minutes and got it replaced. It was a boost control sensor and wiring harness. This came to a total cost of £288.00 that Rotherham had agreed to pay. As I came to collect my car 5 days later I was hit with this £288.00 bill. After questioning SG PETCH about payment from Rotherham I was informed there had been no payment made. So I rang up Rotherham and was told they couldn’t make a same day transfer. So I paid the £288.00. It was longer than a week after before I received the refund for this money even after being told it would be 2-3 days. So now it was just the gearbox to sort out but Evans Halshaw had said there was nothing the matter with it even though I provided them with video footage on a USB showing the gearbox going from 2nd to 4th and the gearbox not changing out of first gear. On 6th April 2018 the gearbox died and I had to pay £90 to get it recovered back to my house (which hasn’t been refunded by the garage). I rang the garage about it straight away and was told whoever I wanted to speak too was busy and they would phone me back. Never got those calls back surprisingly so I rang and asked to be put through to the general manager. He was rude when I was explain all the issues I had with the car claiming I’ve bought a used car so I can expect troubles. Almost justifying the gearbox breaking along with the engine problems all within the 5 minutes I drove the car away from the dealer. After he understood the full span of the problem he arranged for a car to come tow my car back down to the dealer. It was down there 2 days before they agreed (after many phone calls and persuading) to issue a full refund. This refund took a week to come. I finally received it on the 16th of April 2018. I WOULD HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND BUYING A CAR THROUGH THIS DEALERSHIP!

I have a really similar experience - loads of issues they said they'd fix in order to complete the sale, then they simply didn't do several of the tasks they'd committed to. Warning light on within minutes of leaving the dealership. Terrible and untrustworthy.
