My wife received a recall letter from Citroen to correct a minor fault regarding sealing. The instructions were to go online and book with the nearest dealer which was Evans Halshaw Citroen, Sheffield . She did this and was informed by the website that the dealer would contact her to book a time. After a week of hearing nothing she went through the process again and, again, Evans Halshaw failed to contact her. We then went on holiday for a week and my wife rang Citroen directly on our return. They apologised and arranged a time with Evans Halshaw to have the work done. We arrived at 10:00 and went to the service desk where a man was working at his computer with someone, who we assumed was a customer, sat in front of him. After a few minutes the man we thought was a customer got up and walked into a back room. The man at the computer still did not acknowledge our presence. We walked back to the entrance where a friendly girl informed us we were at the right desk so we returned and stood in front of the computer man. While we standing there an oldish man who was wanting to buy parts walked past us saying “If they can’t be bothered with me I can’t be bothered with them.” After ten minutes at the desk, computer man asked us if we wanted to see someone from the service department! The car was booked in and we went home. My wife then received a text asking for approval for £499.62 for work to be done. (£14.42 for a break light bulb and £485.20 for a radiator). Within the last three weeks the car has been to an approved repair shop for a thorough examination after being in a blameless rear end shunt. It has also had a full service and MOT in that time so we were surprised at them finding these faults. We didn’t authorise the work and can find no evidence of a bulb out or a radiator leak. (Incidentally, I know they have labour charges but the radiator costs 40 quid so the replacement cost seems excessive. I would never voluntarily deal with this company.

Tried being ripped off took my car to them as they originally dealt with a fault I had on my megane. Cost me a small fortune last year but paid it and now the fault is back they actually tried fobbing me off that it was tehe same fault light but a different fault and they weren’t 100% sure but could I pay for three more faults totalling over £500 yet again!!! Was told this over the phone and obviously I was not happy so when I arrived at the garage it was as thought the guy on the phone had said an unhappy client was coming in as there were literally four mechanics sat listening in on our conversation round the corner and one even said I’m keeping out of the way!!! Definitely not good customer service and all about how much money they can make from people. Evans Halshaw Citroen in Sheffield is a terrible garage with terrible staff
I bought an a3 from Evans Halshaw Citroen in Sheffield the pistons have gone a fault already on car and was told no matter what evidence I gave wouldn’t making them pay out and was told if I came in this was by Sam samara he would physically remove me from the show room great services AVOID.

Bought a car from Evans Halshaw Sheffield last year. The initial test drive was reasonable, but when discussing various aspects back in the show-room, there was a disgruntled man and his wife on the adjacent desk. Unhappy about being "messed about." This sort of set the scene for the rest of my transaction. I was phoned with a trade-in price and was initially unhappy. However, upon reflection, a week or so later, I decided to change my mind and buy the car. I tried to phone the company and was initially put through to a different garage. Having discussed the deal for several minutes, we both realised that we were at crossed purposes and had to hang up. I was then put through to the correct branch and reached a sales manager. He did not say who he was and I explained that I would like to buy the car and that I would like to speak to the person who originally dealt with me. He became quite rude and suggested that he was authorised to conduct the business. Then he said that he was a sales manager - before that, I didn't know who I was speaking to; security/reception/service/sales??? Eventually I completed the deal on the phone and arrange a pick up date. My real issues were with the state of the car upon collection: - Dirty leather seats that had to be quickly cleaned. - Poor standard of overall cleaning, EG, sweets stuck in between seats, McDonalds chip under the seat, matts that had never been lifted and cleaned under. - Dusty and grubby inside. - Somebody had smoked in the car. They promised to use a smoke bomb to remove the smell, but if they actually did this, the smell was still there. I picked up the car and spent a couple of hours at home cleaning it fully. I was initially told that the car was "one owner." This was true, except that the previous owner was a company called ERAC Ltd. Enterprise Rent A Car. I was unhappy that they didn't point this out and mad at myself for missing this. My trade in had around 6 months before a service was due, but they said that I would have to pay an extra £150 as they only sold cars with a "full years service period" ahead. I refused and they backed down. But guess what, the car that I bought needed an oil service 4 months later!! When i initially inspected the car, the engine bay was absolutely filthy. They initially refused to valet this, but ironically, when I persuaded them to do it, this was the cleanest part of the car upon collection! Although the car was ex-rental, mechanically, it seems OK. It had been kept in a dirty condition, Smoked in and not treated too well. By my efforts, the condition is fine now, much better that when I acquired the car. I just feel that the sales staff and the garage generally were very poorly managed and they were happy to give a sub-standard service. The issues regarding cleaning could have easily been solved with a basic £35 valet by one of the many hands car washes that are everywhere these days. This was a 2-year old prestige marque. I regret buying from Evans Halshaw Sheffield and would only buy from them again if I could not find somewhere else to buy.
The after care service is diabolical. When you buy a car, you expect it to be what it says and what you are told with peace of mind when you buy extended warranty. BUT Sheffield branch want you to pay for a diagnostic to see whats wrong with the car you bought. WHAT A JOKE. They say they have nothing to do with the other dealerships. i thought Evans Halshaw was Evans Halshaw dealership not separate companys.

Having bought a good quality second hand car from Evans Halshaw Citroen Sheffield, I was very worried about what might happen when things went a little wrong. I was worried due to all the negative reviews I'd read. The reviews were so frightening for me to read and caused me some degree of upset and panic. However , I would ( in retrospect ) say ... don't rely on reviews and don't be intimidated by them. My experience was quite the opposite and I found the help and support I received from the Dealer Principal ( Ryan Smith) to be most encouraging . My requests and concerns were dealt with immediately , he was professional, easy to approach, understanding and very fair. I would like to say a public 'thank you' on this review site for the after sales service and understanding that I received . A. G .

Evans Halshaw Sheffield had lost our test drive booking and they acted like this was our fault. Then took the best part of an hour of them faffing around before we finally got to look at the car we had booked the test drive for. Complete waste of our time, staff seemed only interested in the hard sell. Would avoid in future.

I purchased a Kia Sorento XT 2007 model for £5300.00 from Evans Halshaw in Sheffield last November it lasted 10 weeks before the engine seized it took 12 weeks for them to decide it was a right off during that time I had to hire a vehicle for work at a cost of £2500.00 no offer of help. Stay clear of this company.

Whilst the car was under warranty I decided to get it checked over, on doing so there was problems with the suspension and when I contacted this Evans Halshaw dealership but they wouldn't fix it as the problems wasn't bad enough to cause a fail on an MOT, I thought this was poor after sales service as the car was sold with these faults. I wouldn't buy a car from this Evans Halshaw dealership again.
