Appalling after sales. Bought a brand new Vauxhall Combo Electric car, which I began to have problems with after only 2 weeks. I rang to book in a repair and they said there was only one mechanic available who knew anything about electric vehicles. I then had to wait 2 weeks for an appointment. I was supposed to get my car back the same day, but received a phone call to say they couldn’t fix it as they didn’t know exactly what the problem was. I was not offered a replacement vehicle. I’ve now gone 3 days with no car and mine has still not been sorted. There is no indication of when I’ll get it back. They are having to contact Vauxhall for someone to solve the issue. So much for their “Master Mechanic” who I was informed would be fixing it in the first place! Also, when I was given a temporary cover note on collecting my new car, the wrong registration number was written on the paperwork resulting in my permit being invalid, alongside my insurance policy and Tyne Tunnel exemption pass. I then had the inconvenience of having to explain this and exchange all of the information. Meanwhile, I received a fine for using the Tyne Tunnel as my registration plate was not recognised. I had to go into the branch and explain to the sales leader who did reimburse the cost, but it should never have happened in the first place. I have been driving for 44 years and never had such shocking lack of customer care. I am extremely disappointed and would like my car back as soon as possible but I don’t think it will happen sometime soon. I do not recommend this dealership. Once they’ve taken your money the care goes out of the window

YF22 0DS - VW POLO - LEFT OUT OF POCKET!! AVOID THIS STORE The car was delivered to our home on 12th march. Immediately when driving the car my husband could hear and feel a knocking type noise from somewhere under the bonnet. He came home and called the branch. He spoke to a lady who confirmed that the computer did say repairs were needed and the car shouldn’t have been sold to us before they were complete. We also told her that the car hadn’t been valeted and it didn’t smell fresh. She said she would speak to someone and get back to us. She didn’t. We then phoned again a few hours later and spoke to a man, who was very abrupt. I think he was possibly the manager. They gave us a date of late April for the repairs and when we said we didn’t want to wait that long as we had just paid for the car on the understanding that as per the website, complete 123 point inspection would have taken place. He said that if we weren’t happy with the car, we could return it and that he thought they had underpriced the car anyway and he could’ve got an extra £1000 for it!! He practically hung up on my husband. We spent the afternoon debating what to do. We didn’t want to cut our noses off to spite our face but weren’t sure what the engine noise was or if it was serious. We had lost confidence that the problem would be fully rectified and as the only time they could book us in was 6 weeks later, we would have no legal rights to return. It was a stressful day. Whilst trying to decide, we collected my daughter and as soon as she sat in the back seat the seatbelt lights came on, there was beeping and the lights wouldn’t go off. We tried plugging in the seatbelt unplugging it, moving seats etc but it wouldn’t go off. We returned the car. It was back up for sale for £1000 more and still is) before we’d even had our refund. We have been left over £100 out of pocket having paid a months tax, insurance, admin charges. The managers response to this was “tough. If you buy a car the tax is non refundable”. They just couldn’t care less. We didn’t just change our mind, the car had multiple faults! So much for "each vehicle has passed 123 point mechanical and cosmetic inspection”. They’ll probably respond to this complaint saying sorry you didn’t have a great experience - if they do it’ll be the first apology we’ve had. But if they were sorry they would cover our costs and not leave us out of pocket.

I would avoid this dealership all together. I bought a car from here and it broke in the first 2 month so it was still under their 3 month warranty. My sister’s boyfriend is a mechanic so I asked him just to have a quick look. This was 7 o’clock at night and roadside. He lifted the bonnet and realised the injector valves had popped out so we locked the car up. I told Evan halshaw the crack and said that a mechanic thinks the injector valves had popped out. I then paid to get it towed to evan halshaw where they informed me they couldn’t fix it because there was some pipes not connected on the car so they accused me of getting work done even after I told them that he literally had a 2-3 minute look at the car roadside with no tools and using a torch on his phone. They then told me i was entitled to a courtesy car but never provided one. They then also made appointments with me to call me back and they never stuck to them. After 2 month of having the car they eventually got in touch and told me they would fix it. They tried to make it like they were doing me a favour when really it was an error on there side they were trying to cover up. I had no work done to the car so they clearly removed the pipes they were talking about. Once work was finished there sales manager told me i had to come collect the car and when i told him i didn’t want it back after the hassle i had with it and the rudeness off the staff he then threatened me with charging me for keeping it at the store. He eventually said ok we’ll deliver it to you. It turned up with a flat tyre and the check engine came on a week later which i’ve had to get fixed elsewhere as i emailed and rang them and have yet to here back and it’s been another 6 month. Please avoid this place your better getting the bus!!

I’ve had several issues with my Vauxhall Vivaro van and taken it into Vauxhall and I was helped by Rebecca in service department. My van was in for several weeks as it has several issues and I have to praise the way Rebecca has helped me, kept me in the loop and her customer services is absolutely outstanding she is a credit to the company 10/10 EXCELLENT
I purchased a used BMW X 3 on 23rd July 2021 together with a 3 year warranty at £799, Asset Protection Assurance at £399 and Tyre and Wheel Assurance at £399. However the wrong registration number were on all of the policies. The warranty assurance shows the correct vin number so will probably be valid. However the other two insurances are invalid as rely on the registration number. I have tried to resolve this but getting nowhere.

This review is based on FACTS. When I purchased my wife's new car the Autotrader advert stated 'No Admin Fee's', the salesman at point of sale then attempted to add a £99 Admin Fee, when I pointed this out the salesman apologised and said it would be removed. Later that day I then received an Order Form which showed a 'Vehicle Status Check Fee', this was added without prior consent at £98.99. I called up and insisted I had given the full retail price for the car and yet another additional cost had been added. After speaking with the Manager this was removed as another 'Error'. I then noticed the retail price of the car had also been inflated from the price quoted on the Autotrader advert and had to ask that the price be amended to the original advert, after yet another apology the price was amended to the correct one. (this was only done after a strongly worded email had ben sent). The car arrived today, over an hour late. My wife had an appointment to take her sister to the cancer clinic and needed the car for no later than 10am, this was agreed, however after several phone calls and broken promises the car finally arrived untaxed. (The driver informed my wife that no one had asked him to deliver the car before 10am, even though we had this in an email from Evans Halshaw). My advice to anyone purchasing a car from this company, CHECK, CHECK and double CHECK what you are being asked to pay. Make sure the car price hasn't been OVER INFLATED after purchasing it, and DO NOT hold them to their word that the car will be delivered at any particular time. Would i recommend this company, absolutely NOT.

Sold an accident damaged car. It had a minor accident at some point. But on the 109 point check *cough it was missed. Headlight was that loose you could move it by hand. Overspray job was poor. Sales people communicate by text. Only once have I managed to speak to a manager. That was only after a review on another site. This company don't care. Car has gone back, full refund Buyer beware!!!!!!!!!
