Poor customer service! Lost the second key and then tried to blag there wasn't one, poor valeting job done and scratched in the paint weren't removed as we were told they would. The car was supposed to be ready within a week but 2 weeks before it was ready. A week later and we still haven't received any paperwork through the post. Was also supposed to be contacted by the service team and have still not heard anything. Would never again buy from here!!!!
Wish we would had read their embarrassing reviews before buying from them. Salesmen are lazy, cars are bad quality then they refuse to work with the customer to fix it. Customer service from this place is non existent and quite frankly, completely embarrassing. Never felt the need to leave a bad review for any company but this particular branch is a complete embarrassment to Evans Halshaw
Having discovered my MOT was due that day the staff could not do enough to accommodate me and the car was done by the end of day as promised.

My wife found a lovely Vauxhall Mokka-X (2019) with low mileage and suitable price and paid a “Holding deposit” of £99 to view the car on Saturday 18th January 2020 at 10-30am. We travelled from Brighton to St. Albans (190-mile round trip). When we arrived at 10am we had a quick look around the compound to see if the car was there!!! That’s when the trouble started, it wasn’t…. We introduced ourselves to the salesman dealing with our booking and after forty minutes, he approached us apologetically, saying “Sorry, the car is not here, I think its been taken by an Evans Halshaw employee….” We explained, we paid a holding deposit of £99 and expected the car to be available… He then went on to suggest we look at something else. Most concerning, he refused to return the £99 deposit and would “Try and get it back to us on Monday 20th January 2020” Well, as you probably realise, despite numerous phone calls and emails, as of Wednesday 22nd January 2020 we have received no refund or any offer of payment towards the wasted journey (fuel costs etc) so therefore we are now entering into litigation to recover our costs. On the way out of the show room, another salesman approached me and offered apologies for the way we’ve been treated by the salesman to say “He’s new here”!! Please avoid like the plague, they are essentially a car supermarket with no concept of Customer Service, they are without doubt the most ignorant disrespectful salesmen we have ever encountered. We will be writing our formal complaint to the Chief Executive of Evans Halshaw (UK) once the litigation has been successfully concluded.

I have just purchased a car from Evans Halshaw Vauxhall St Albans. I felt that the service and professionalism of the representative that served us was excellent. Micheal was not too pushy and was honest and knowledgeable about the service. This was my second time at this dealership and I have been pleased with the care I received both times. I am grateful for the representative that served me in being accommodating and attentive to my requests and questions. Thank you Micheal.

Evans Halshaw offered me the most for my car when I did an online valuation. Turned up at the dealership and was offered the exact same amount I was quoted. Claudia Maggio the buying representative who served me was SPECTAULAR...A true asset to the company. I will definitely buy from Evans Halshaw Vauxhall in St Albans when its time to replace the car.
Evans Halshaw Vauxhall in St Albans claims to be a main dealer but really its just like a car supermarket. Don’t expect any sort of service and check the car you buy very carefully. Prices are cery attractive but after sales service is non existent.

On the 1st of March, 2019. My 66 reg. vauxall corsa was due for service so Evans Halshaw dealership in St Albans came for the car 10am at my work address and I told them I will be picking up my son from the nursery at 3.30pm and they said OK. As soon as the lady that came for the car drove it away, I did not heard from them till 4:30pm, even I rang them about 11 times. I couldn't get my car on the 1st March so I went home by a public transport around 6:00pm and my 3yrs son was stuck in the nursery. 2nd March I went to the garage by a taxi. On Monday morning 4th March, 2019. Immediately I started the car to get to work but it couldn't move and a message came on the dashboard "ENGINE POWER REDUCED", I waited till 8am and I called Evans Halshaw st albans garage to feed them about the problem.. They then told me they're sending someone for the car.. The person came in, in hrs time and he told me to call the garage in 40mins. time, which I did. From that period I tried again to get through to the service department but I end up getting the same response "your car is still in the garage". As an agency worker I didn't wanted to lose a day pay as the car is on finance which I needed to pay monthly. 4:25pm I called them again then they told me my car is done so I should come for it. As a company they never told me when they came for the car, that I have to it up myself. 1) I have lost a day pay. 2) I have paid £493.00 on the service. 3) I have to pay for a cab again to pick it up. I then called their customer care staff on the 5th March, 2019 and they advised me that they will investigate and get back to me in two days time, which they did called back on the 7th March, 2019. The lady that rang from the customer care named Donna which I believe they've given me a wrong name. She was telling me there is nothing they can do about my situation, so I tried to asked her some questions about what she said. she then hung up on me. I called back straight away then a man answered the call told him the situation, he told me that is not right for their staff to do that. I will you advise you not to go there because their mechanics and customer service are rubbish.
