Enquired about a used 2018 Ford Focus 1.5 titanium, no response received so sent a second request. Due to distance from dealer, I asked for a video to outline all positives and negatives of the car. Received a 2 minute silent video that was lacking in any detail. Car also looked like it had a hose thrown over it and was still wet - totally useless for viewing the condition of bodywork. Called dealer again to request a new video, still waiting. Car still for sale since March and has had four price changes so far. 11490, 12200, 11900 and now 11660 in July. Totally put off by the experience and bought a car elsewhere.
I purchased a car on line from Evans Halshaw Wigan branch. I was asked to pay a deposit of £100 which I paid on 25th May 2021, at the same time I was also asked to pay £155 for the road fund licence, which I paid, When I spoke to the sales person I requested that the road fund licence be started from 1st June as they were not sure when they could deliver the car and collect my part exchange car, I sent an email confirming I wanted the road fund licence to start from 1st June. I did not pay the outstanding balance until 27th May 2021. I had to ring them and chase them for the delivery date as they had not contacted me. I was told it was being delivered on 2nd June by an outside logistics company. The car arrived in the afternoon on 2nd June. I walked round the car to check it over and noticed the silver plate on the back of the car was missing on further inspection I noted the underneath fin was not straight, I questioned the driver who said it must have fallen off on motorway on his way to me. I said I wasn't happy with the car it was damaged and had back part missing. He was very abrasive and said I had to sign for the car and he had to take my car back as part exchange, I felt pressured to sign and objected to it, I wrote on paperwork that it was damaged he couldn't have cared less as far as he was concerned it was my problem now. He handed me the paperwork and I complained as it was all dated 25th May 2021 and stated it had been delivered on 25th May (untrue as I hadn't even paid for it until 27th May, also Evans Halshaw had ignored my request both verbally and confirmation email to tax the car from 1st June, they had taxed it from 25th May so I had lost a months tax before I bought the car. I immediately rang Evans Halshaw and complained the car was damaged and I didn't want it in this condition. I sent them photos of the damage and said I will not be driving the car as I didn't know if it had further damage as it looked as though it had been in an accident. After several calls back and forth, they agreed to collect the car and take it back to Wigan, I said I no longer wanted the car as it was not as they had desribed it, furthermore I did not want my part exchange car back as the same driver may have damaged that taking it back to Wigan. AFTER NUMEROUS telephone calls to Evans Halshaw they arranged collection of their vehicle on Monday 7th June (during this time I had received the log book for their vehicle dated May 2021 so this meant I was losing 2 months tax bearing in mind it was damaged therefore I couldn't drive it. I complained to EVans Halshaw as they had employed the services of the driver not me so they should be out of pocket not me. I asked for some compensation as I was without any car, the date on the road fund licence was incorrect. I was told they don't give compensation and basically I would have to wait for my money back as it is not dealt with on site. I kept making phone calls and asking for my money back as I was not able to buy another car until they refunded my money. I had to borrow money from my family and credit card to unable me to purchase another car. Evans Halshaw kept me waiting and finally paid the money back into my account on 16th June 2021. They paid me £16.77 extra to what I had paid them and said you will get the rest of the refund from DVLA the road fund licence back. Big deal I lost the whole month of June on my part exchange vehicle and today I have received a cheque from DVLA for £129.16 so I have lost 2 months road fund licence on the car I could not drive due to it being damaged. On 2nd June Evans Halshaw driver took the complete V5form from me for my part exchange vehicle and promised they would send it off but I am still waiting for the refund on my old car, they allegedly sent off ?? I habe lost out all round by trusting this garage. I do not recommend them at all.

Just bought a used car here and the service I received from Nick Samworth was excellent. Past buying experiences, as a female owner/driver, have been less than pleasant but Nick was organised, courteous, responded promptly to email queries, had all the information I needed and the car was ready. 3 days from start to finish.

Took 3 weeks from paying the deposit before actually getting the vehicle with poor communication. The car was filthy when I test-drove. The test drive was a joke also, they only wanted me to do an approx 1 mile loop of the industrial estate?? Needless to say I went a bit further and after 5/10 mins was bombared with calls asking where I was. Despite this I wanted the car so agreed to buy. I asked if the car would be valeted before collection and was told it would. The day of finally collecting, I was told the car was being valeted ready for collection. When I got there, honestly the car was as filthy as the first time i'd seen it. I don't know what they consist as a 'valet'? Maybe just a quick hoover and polish? But you coule literqlly scratch grime off the steering wheel, door panels, centre console and gear stick. I actually thought the leather gaiter was damaged due to the grime and was about to order a new one to replace it until I realised it was dirt. There was bright orange thick makeup in every nook and cranny and in the seat stitching, and more grime on the sides next to the seatbelts. There were crumbs in the door sills and rear console, and crumbs all in the boot and under the seats along with bits of paper and a plastic spoon?... Considering we're in a pandemic and cleanliness is paramount, I was even more surprised. I was asked if I was happy with the cleanliness and just said yes to get away as i'd already waited 3 weeks. I then spent the afternoon cleaning as best I could before paying someone £50 to actually valet it properly!...
