After choosing a car at this York branch to suit my needs & was told that it was the only one left in the UK therefore a dealership deposit was taken from me to secure it, (not the advanced payment). I signed all forms to say the car was everything I desired even though I had not sat it one nor offered a test drive or inspection .My application for motability was accepted yey so what next? . The dealership down south who had the car had to reply to a email agreeing to releasing it from their garage to York. We had to and wait and wait . Ringing the motorbility man Ben up chasing the outcome. To be told York had not heard from Plymouth. No effort was shown to reassure us. Very poor communication . No plan B. We had a time scale as surgery was near .I needed a car from a dealer not to come from the factory to save time. But York did not try to contact other dealers to prepare us for an alternative.. I felt second class. So we had to their job. I rang round other Peugeot dealerships Turns out it was not the only model. Jonny at Stoneacre ,Harrogate bent over Backwards and do did Dan at Menston Leeds. Both offering the vehical I needed and reasuring me they could definitely get one from sister dealerships close by. What took days at York waiting for an email . Took me 2 days to ring round other dealerships and have my car signed for and delivered. I await now my deposit from EH Of York that I was told I would be refunded the day I asked for it. Just like the experience above. I'm still waiting! I've learnt alot about The Motorbility Scheme and how dealerships work. Sadly Evans Halshaw didn't 'work' for me .

I spent £25k on a used car that had flaking paint which was notified immediately at drop off. No service history (despite promise of only one missing). Car had been in an accident previously despite being told it had not. Didn't even service the car prior to collection/drop off despite being told it would - it hasn't. Promised to rectify - but never followed anything up. Ignored all points of contact. Sold a vehicle that could not be driven away on the appointed day. Quite frankly I rate this dealer so low I would discourage all. One star is too many!!

I had previously purchased a car from another dealership - not Evans Halshaw, which was found to have been sold to me, not fit for purpose. There were significant repairs and long term corrosion, found by the great team at York vauxhall Evans Halshaw, when I took it to them for it's MOT. Since then, I have had fantastic advice and support from Sales Manager Lawrence at York Evans Halshaw, in fighting the other dealership, in returning the car to back to dealer and in getting my money back- ( got some money back). I have now purchased a new car from York Evans Halshaw, again with the great help and advice from Lawrence and saleman Liam. A lot of time was taken to help and show me the options for which car would be the best for my particular needs. I have now purchased a nice little Skoda Citigo. I am very thankful and grateful for the ongoing support from Lawrence and the great sales process with Liam too. Would highly recommend Vauxhall Evans Halshaw, York. Fab service thank you so much. I have bought two cars from here. Each time I have decided to buy the salesman leave you for a long time. Whether this is to find out if you're serious about buying or some other reason I have no idea but they need to be careful because I won't do it again. It's rude. The second car I bought was advertised with low mileage. 2000 miles added on when received and a nail in a tyre. Just be careful.
Car looked very good on the auto trader advert and looked nice when we arrived at the dealership. On closer inspection every panel on the inside of the 4 doors were damaged where the previous owner / family had slammed the door on the seatbelt. For a car that only had 35k on the clock the drivers seat should not be ripped either. It’s almost like they detail the basics on the car and hope you won’t notice the little details that make the difference. The Kia should also have the remaining years of the 7 year warranty available (17 plate) but we had to get them to check with Kia and good job we did as the first service had been missed and the warranty was void. Complete waste of an afternoon though the salesman was very helpful and friendly. Why not be honest with your adverts and not have people waste an afternoon going looking at a car to be very disappointed.

Traveled from Doncaster on a Saturday morning to look at a nisson Micra at Evans Halshaw York, spent 2hours there never once was asked if I would like a drink,the sales man just kept going away leaving me sat there.i wanted to p/X my car, all they offered was £4300 but we buy any car offered £5500 in the end I just walked away. I will never use them again
I purchased a citroen c4 grand picasso from the vauxhall branch so product knowledge was a little on the low side but still an overall plesent experience
