tidy, clean and well presented, couldn't fault them. No haggle, but prices were good according to Autotrader

Maybe the easiest place I’ve ever bought a car. No nonsense. No fuss. No upselling. Just a good car presented well.

Absolutely shocking customer services. I would avoid totally buying from these dealers. In June I brought a car from them at the time I questioned whether they were going to service the car or not as the yearly one was overdue. The seller was adamant that due to the millage it didn’t warranty needing one. I pointed out that the general rule was yearly or every so many miles, which ever came first. But the seller was very persuasive it didn’t need one yet! So, they Mot the car, I picked it up. Few weeks into having the car I heard a terrible squeal coming from it. Luckily, I had paid out for the pititful 3 month warranty they do! Phoned the company, was told to phone up the garage they use (We Fit). I did and they were extremely rude and upset immensely to which I phoned ACOS back and they were also very abrupt and had me in tears, asked for them to sort it out. Nope! , I had to so told them I was not ringing We Fit back and explained so was told to phone Proudlocks up. I did and they were nice and booked car in, with giving me a lift home etc. Anyway, they changed the Break Pads as they were badly worn and noticed that the Tyre was on back to front so changed that. Basically, the car should not have passed the MOT, So the Peacehaven garage that ACOS used is shocking! I had grave concerns and put the car in for a service from a wonderful garage that I have used for years in Newhaven as the car didn’r feel right and asked them if they could thoroughly check it over. Luckily for me I did! Not only were the brake discs below minimum, the inner rack joint had a lot of play in it, o/s top mount was notchy, the coil spring was not seated correctly o/s/f, the battery was bad, and in the coolant system there was radweld in it. Another conversation with Affordable cars of Sussex was told to drop the car to them, find my own way home and they would assess it (even though they have stated previously not mechanics) so after once again a difficult conversation it was booked in to Proudlock for the following week, Sent email to Proudlocks so they knew what was going on with the car in advance. The car was picked up, I had a call from Grant the same day about 11am saying that it looked like the main head gasket had gone. They would phone me back later the afternoon. I ended up phoning back after not hearing anything. Was told that without my permission the car was moved to the ACOS Newhaven site and was waiting for the director to come down to look at it which wouldn’t be till the next day. I called the next morning after not hearing anything to be told the director was on his way and he would call me. Was told, yes the head gasket needed repairing etc but instead of repairing the car I was told they would reimburse me only for the car and a few days later at that… I explained that they should never have sold the car in the first place and the fact that they were adamant about not doing the service and tried to persuade me not to, the fact that it should never have been put through the mot was absolutely shocking and it could have been serious! Because of them, I had to cancel a hospital appointment, a pre-booked holiday to see someone I haven’t seen for 5 years! I had lost out on a insurance admin fees, cost of the fuel that was in the car still, Vehicle tax costs, the loss of the money to pay for the service of the car. I am now stuck with trying to find help to get my daughter back to Uni on top of it all… When I explained all this to them, Jay replied saying that he can take the cost of the car mileage I have used away from the reimbursement. Not even considering that the car has been in the garage a few times and those days I have lost out also… I have lost a lot of money because of these people, caused a lot of ill health as well.
Having searched an endless list of cars, I finally found a car suitable for my business. Unfortunately I had problems with the finances! Grant was extremely helpful during the buying process and promised me a refund of my deposit if funds weren't available to complete the purchase. He was willing to keep the car available for me until the middle of April. I finally picked up the car and was very pleased with the efficient, friendly way in which Grant explained the paperwork etc. I was happy with the car which performed well on the drive home. Unfortunately, I discovered the battery had died on the Sunday morning so I phoned and Jay offered to fund half the cost of a new battery. Battery purchased and the car is performing very well. Thanks to Affordable Cars a family business which puts the customer first.

many thanksfor my fiesta 5 stars here, warranty, new mot and a service couldnt ask for much more
From the condition of the car on collection I was shocked to find that the advertised and verbally promised pre-sales servicing and valeting appeared not have been carried out. The vehicle had no power steering fluid in reservoir. Car was filthy inside and had unbearable smell of dogs after being closed all night. Bonnet catch bent and rusty. A fluid leak under the bonnet was discovered. Dealer refused to give me information on supposed works carried out on previous failed MOT saying 'it's none of my business'. A Renault dealer looked at it and told me to take it back. Returned it for full refund. After being very helpful and promising me everything pre-sale, their attitude changed when I asked about these faults. Would NOT recommend Affordable Cars of Sussex.
Jay Russell from Affordable Cars Of Sussex in response to BEWARE!
Unfortunately you cannot please everyone and some peoples expectations of a 13 year old car are somewhat different to others as with this customer a small Power steering leak shortly after collection became the end of the world despite an offer to fix immediately (a £10 clip), she was rude and abrupt and as a family business we do not tolerate and was told promptly to bring the car back for a full refund after taking a 13 year old car to a Renault dealer to which to this day we still have no proof of despite requesting this on several occasions. The New owner of the car bought it 10 days after it was returned and has no complaints and has enjoyed using it and her family have already bought another car from us in the meantime.
Brilliant service and very happy with our new car many thanks to Chris and Jay at Affordable Cars of Sussex for their help.
