This is an update of the situation to date regarding the BMW I bought from them with the 20 faults, since going down to pick-up the car and speaking to the garage that was supposed to be doing the work on my car I've been informed that they didn't do a thing to it not one fault was done, the wife tried to talk to the owner of first gear auto's by phone as once again he was out the country, she was told to get out of out of his office, to get off his phone, to get off his property and to not bother him again this is from the owner of the garage. The car is in a worse state now than when I took it to them, the owner is not even got the decency to return any of my calls neither has any of his staff. This garage seems to think that they are above the law, but they're not i know my consumer rights and they've been informed about them.

Firstly, Sorry for any inconvenience this situation has caused. I would first like to state that many of the things said in the previous reviews by this customer are completely out of the mark. I have video and audio proof which I can release if requested which shows the customer's wife shouting and swearing the assistant who was in the office on the 13th of September. The wife was verbally abusive towards him and also after the owner respectfully asked the wife to leave the office via phone the lady refused and reacted by taking the business phone without permission and did not give it back until her husband gave it back to the assistant later. Now this is not a professional way to act and we do not condone this behavior in any way. Customer service is one of our top priorities and we feel that we have not been given the same respect back. The customer contacted us about some faults that they had with the car after purchase. We then asked the customer to send us a report of all the faults that they have with the car. We were sent a report from a garage called Cranbrook Rd Garage where around 20 faults where listed. (shown below). We had to telephone the garage and get them to explain to us about the faults, the women that answered had son her son wasn't around and she would call back, this does seem like a small garage and there mechanical failure report does not look professional. After speaking to the garage, he has described the issues to be not as serious, e.g. no issues with the gearbox (could be a mount), anti roll cylinders leaking ( not leaking just has old built up residue). The mechanic was helpful and stated the customer has asked him to “Find Faults”. This kind of behaviour makes us think they was looking for things. Mr Timson BMW 750I Hand brake not releasing (from brake) Left hand side front fog light not working Left hand side low beam not working Reset button on heating control not working Light bottom of drivers door not working Drivers seat runner protector comes off Front tires barely legal (front left chunk of tire missing) Anti roll cylinders leaking both front & rear Clunks when changing into 3rd gear Auto open & close boot not working Windscreen wipers do not release water CD multi changer does not work Air conditioning does not work Car does not drive smoothly very jerky Throttle very jerky (it is all or nothing) Front passenger seat leg extension not working Passenger rear cup holder broken(L/H/Side) Passenger off side rear air vent broken 2 codes camshaft coherence & vanos timing out (linked) Car tries to cut out when starting from cold revs high when low, then high then low again Owner,s manual missing The car was brought in to the garage about two weeks ago. On the same day the car was hit by a random car which was passing by. The driver admitted liability and provided their insurance details. As soon as we were informed about this situation we contacted Michael about the incident. This then complicated things for the garage as they had to wait for the insurance investigation to complete to do any work on the car. The mechanic was only able to check the gearbox and engine, and we have been assured that they are working as they should; gearbox and engine are their expertise. The mechanic would have liked more time to fully investigate the car for the faults mentioned above, however on the 13th around 12pm the customer came back to find that the car had not been repaired to their satisfaction. We tried to explain that due to the incident with the insurance the mechanic was not able to work on it completely. They were not happy with this and the above altercation happened and then they took the car away. Now even though lots of the faults raised are wear and tear we are willing to help but cannot do anything as the car has been taken away.

I purchased a bmw from them at the end of June 2017 had it independently inspected to be told that there are 20 faults with it. Tried 3 x a day 7 day's a week on the 3 number's given to me for 6 week's I left voice mails, text messages and emails no replies to any of them, wasn't until I left a review that someone contacted me, telling me that if I didn't take down my review my warranty would be revoked and cancelled. As I'd had no joy from them I contacted trading standards who informed me of there legal obligations under the law,.I was also informed that the warranty is an added bonus, and that it's down to the garage to sort out the faults, when I'd informed them (the garage) I'd had legal advice and that there options are as follows, that they must prove that the faults stated do not exist at there cost and to put them right, the next option is to replace the vehicle for like for like and the 3rd option is a full 100% refund I was told by the owner that I was misinformed and that I'd been lied to, and in fact he was right and that it was all about the warranty, it wasn't until I sent them a copy of the letter from trading standards and a report from them about another rogue garage that had been fined something like£35,000.00 that they realised I was correct, they opted to repair all the 20 faults so reluctantly I dropped the car off on the 28 08 17 I'd informed that I was going to be out of the country the next day for 2 week's until the 13 09 17, I had about 10 minutes to wait until I was boarding the flight when I received a call from them telling me that my car had been involved in an accident the day I'd dropped it off and that the boss had known early on in the morning about it, the damage is quite significant to the front passenger door, best thing about this is that the boss of the garage won't even speak to me about it, when I rang them he answered the phone and got someone else to talk to me, the other thing that's quite amazing is the fact that the person who hit my car only has a provisional licence and that the vehicle that he was driving only has insurance for a month seems very dodgy and suspicious to me, and guess what they're not answering any of my text's once again, people need to be made aware of this.

Purchased a bmw 750i from them had it independently inspected to be told that there was 10 faults with it, and that the dealer would have known about them prior to selling the vehicle, since being told this information I've tried contacting them via email voice mail and phoning 3 time's a day 7 day's a week, with not as much as a returned call, this dealer is nothing more than a liar and a crook, he also bought my old car of me told me it was only worth scrap value, it's been now advertised for sale by themselves for nearly £1000.00 he's nothing but a cheat and a crook, my advice to anybody looking to buy a used car to STAY well away from First GearAutos Ltd based in Luton.

I have bought 3 cars now from First Gear Autos, one for wife and two for myself. Each time we received great excellent service with periodic follow up call to check if everything is OK. Request for customized car audio and telephone hands free were promptly dealt with hassle free. I will use again and recommend.

Just bought car from First Gear Autos. Ford kuga . Cost 7k. Cracked panoramic roof, foot well full of water, climate control not working, rear heated screen not working, seat trims bodged to fit as they were broken, service stamp in book but oil sample check found no service had been carried out. 12 months mot but all discs worn out ( confirmed by a legit mot station that they should have failed) he would happily have your family in an unsafe car. No emmisions slip with mot. Despite a thorough check prior to buying plus an amount of trust (more fool me) . Found all these faults when i got the car home. Cost 3.5k to fix it all. He will not answer calls, texts or emails. Use him at your own peril. I am not stopping with reviews I am going all the way, trading standards the lot

IF YOU HAVE AN ISSUE WITH THE MOT THEN YOU NEED TO TAKE THAT UP WITH THE MOT STATION AS YOUR ACCUSATION OF THE CERTIFICATE NOT BEING 'LEGIT' AS YOU SAY, IS A SERIOUS ONE. YOU DID NOT GIVE ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO LOOK AT YOUR ISSUE WITH THE AIR CONDITIONING OR HEATED REAR SCREEN. DESPITE ALL OF THIS, WE HAVE OFFERED YOU A REFUND BUT YOU HAVE STILL NOT RESPONDED TO THIS AND CONTINUE TO USE THE VEHICLE.

My review in response to Avoid at all cost

If you read the threads you will see I have written a review as title on this one. I was the first to write a review after which there was several in quick succession followed by ...... nothing. Bit of a coincidence that. There is a response to my review of which most is fabricated so here is my challenge to me Elbakry of first gear motors. I have a dispute of going. After the dispute is over I may exercise my right to list detail on review sites. My challenge to me Elbakry is. If I am a liar and you are the great dealer you claim to be then invite me to list on here some of our email traffic ......... also invite me to list the DEKRA independent vehicle survey completed by one of the best surveyors in the land. I dare you to do that. It confirms everything I have said and believe me more.

I am happy with my BMW from First Gear Autos. The car had been cleaned and the dealers were pretty helpful. I am happy with the price of the car and I have had no issues with it. Good experience.
