I have just bought my first car and am happy with the vehicle. The gentleman was extremely helpful.
Given the lack of real care following the purchase of an £8000 vehicle I would steer well clear of this dealership

I bought a 13 plate 1 series from formula one high station road , advertised as 92,000 miles on it but when i got in the car it read 102,000 miles i queried this so looked at other cars nothing took my eye ,so i said how about you change the timing belt and water pump for me and that should take the edge of the extra 10,000 miles on it ok was the reply ,when i went back a week later it's a timing chain so doesn't need changing i was told , my gripe is that the body work is a total mess ,dont know how they covered all the scratches and laquer peeling from the bonnet and roof but after my 3rd wash i seemed to have uncovered all the cosmetic damage ,its unsellable im stuck with it ,im gutted wish i had walked away
Boyd Craig from Formula One Car Centre Limited in response to Gutted and made to feel like a fool
I am sorry you are dissatisfied with your purchase. We do not sell new vehicles. All customers have ample time to inspect the vehicles inside and out before committing to a purchase. From your review I can see you spent some time looking over the vehicle and were happy with it as you completed the purchase. Speaking with the sales point of contact at High Station road I believe we sent out a dent specialist to go around your vehicle at our expense and as a good will gesture. If you wish to discuss further please contact the Glasgow Road branch and ask for myself.
I recently purchased a Vauxhall insignia from f1 supermarket ,the salesman George was brilliant ,he done everything I asked and more , there was a slight glitch with the cooling cap , however George phones me on his day off and ask me to bring the car back to have it rectified , I was given a car to take away with me until the problem was solved , George phones me the very next day to tell me the car was sorted , overall good experience with F1 supermarket thanks George

I am the person who wrote this review and I take back everything I have said about f1 cars , steer clear , the problem I had with the car has now returned , I phoned George about it and he told me he would phone back , I am still waiting for that call , after reading other reviews I realise this is normal for them to ignore issues , I am currently waiting for a reply from my lawyer about this issue
I wish I had found this site prior to purchasing my car only 10 days ago. I am already in dispute with the car dealers for selling me a car not as described. I contacted the salesperson within hours of receiving my car, I have also been emailing the general manager Paul Cowan as he was too busy to accept my calls, however they are not willing to accept my rejection that I am entitled to a refund as The Consumer Rights Act 2015 states that any goods I have purchased from a trader should be of satisfactory quality and therefore free from defect. I have today written to the garage as well as to trading standards. This is early days and i will keep this post updated if this company actually adhere to the required legislation. Meantime I would avoid this garage.

The vehicle was as described.
Willie in response to AVOID THIS DEALER
Boyd Craig - The car was as described?????? OK how about we ask others on this one? So we decide to buy a Landrover Evoque, we test drove one locally and this had parking assist in the upgrades. The salesperson showed us this feature and as my wife works in a busy hospital and has to park on a street this was a great bonus. So we search cars with this in the description - the advert in question for this car had a heading UPGRADES, under this heading parking assist, now under the heading standard features it states front parking aid sensors and rear parking aid camera, so the fact this is under standard and parking assist is under upgrades would anyone else reading this think it didn't have parking assist? The next thing in dispute is the service history. Under UPGRADES once again it is stated FULL SERVICE HISTORY, so on getting the paperwork from the garage the last service was 3 years ago in 2017, at this time the car had 40,000 miles on the clock, the car now has 75,000 miles so we have went 3 years with no service and its driven 35,000 miles? ive been told it was sorn for a year? even though this does not account for lack of history, but the garage owner insists that he would be happy that this is a full service history, well sorry i disagree with that. I have written to the previous owner and also to DVLA to try and ascertain the history for this car as well as pay a company who are looking into the car history so I will update this review in due course. Meanwhile anyone having problems i would recommend you email or speak to consumer rights Scotland. They will tell you your rights and help you pursue a claim against the garage. And as yet i still stick by my original review to avoid this garage, I wish I had.
Sheila Wright in response to AVOID THIS DEALER
Hi do you have an update on how your complaint is progressing
Willie Carroll in response to AVOID THIS DEALER
Hi Shiela, Yes we have resolved this issue, not really to our satisfaction, however as we are very busy it was either accept or go to court so we just wanted it finished. As the garage said it had a full service history when it did not, they blamed it on been sorn'd however we were able to establish this wasn't the case at all and in fact the car was driven and mot'd in Ireland, so really the garage lied by saying it had a FSH and also by saying it was sorn'd, so they have given us a years warranty and also a free service next year. We do like the car and wanted to keep it so rather than having the inconvience of court we accepted the offer. We are still awaiting it in writing though. I really wish I had found this page prior to buying the car as I would have avoided it, or checked all the details. Going forward i would say to anyone wanting to purchase from here, check everything is correct, and get proof of what they say the car has in terms of extras and service history, and get a decent warranty. Everywhere else we went we were getting a min of 3 months warranty with most places a years warranty, i did email the garage and asked what their warranty was and got told it would be explained when we bought the car. So when we got the paperwork with the car it was only one months warranty! So really all we are getting from the garage is a years warranty we could have got anyway if we purchased from a different garage, and a service they insist doing so that means another trip to the garage which is almost an hour away so most of the day will be taking up to drive there, get a service and get home. We should have stuck to our original plan of taking the garage to court for a full refund, but i was too stressed with the whole situation. Have your purchased from this garage?
So, we have had unsuccessful communication with Paul Cowan (car sales manager). We were eventually sent a replacement lock for the faulty door however, it was also agreed, due to an 8 hour round trip for us, that they would pay £60 for a local mechanic to do the work, if we forwarded a copy of the invoice. Our local mechanic only charged £48.. A copy of the invoice was sent as requested, and Formula 1 Car Sales are now refusing to reimburse us. I wasn't going to publish the text we received from George (salesman) however, due to the poor aftersales service, you need to be warned what to expect. This is the message we received:- "M8 can you stop bursting my arse over a V5 I nearly got sacked over the heap of shite you part exchange in my eyes you knew that car was fucked it's needed a timing chain phone DVLA for the V5" .......not what you'd expect to receive after the amount of money handed over to them! Oh....and STILL no V5. They won't tell us whether they have sent it off or not! There are plenty good garages around - this isn't one of them!

Boyd Craig from Formula One Car Centre Limited in response to An update To Our outstanding Dispute
Karen traded in an RCZ that was described as mechanically sound and not needing any work signing a contract to validate this. It transpires the RCZ is not mechanically sound and requires a new engine. Your sales point of contact has been reprimanded for his language and attitude and further training has been scheduled to eliminate this going forward, I feel he was extremely frustrated given the fact you had let him down regarding your part exchange and emotions got the better of him. He is fully aware that is not the F1CSM way and he has apologised to you. Unfortunately we have been in the middle of a global pandemic and the DVLA have only been processing essential workers applications, this was explained to yourself and your husband on numerous occasions however you continued to call repeatedly about the V5 for the Range Rover probably panicking due to the fact that you knew you traded a bad vehicle in and it would only be a matter of time before we had realised what you had done. As per our warranty terms which were explained to you and agreed and signed for, the vehicle must be returned for inspection and repair, however as we are reasonable people we agreed to send you a new door lock and pay for the fitting (you should have the cheque by now) I am sorry your experience was not as expected and I would be happy to un-wynd the deal and give you the RCZ and money back. Please feel free to call me on 01324 634455 to arrange.
Karen Ritchie in response to An update To Our outstanding Dispute
I'm struggling to keep up with the different versions here! George said the car was sold the new owner travelled 45 Miles and broke down- you now say it never left the premises????? George said the timing chain needed replacing - you now say its the engine!!!! I am not a liar so please refrain from implying this. Please feel free to call me this afternoon to discuss the way forward rather than continue this here

I just purchased an RCZ hope it isn't the same one. gun metal grey? I agree with the salesman not wanting to know after purchase but the staff in the workshop were excellent, provided great customer service and done the work required to be sorted on the car, couldn't fault the workshop staff at all. they actually restored my faith in garages
Sheila Wright in response to An update To Our outstanding Dispute
Hi Karen Do you have an update on your dispute with this would be interesting to find out what outcome was
Worst experience ever! Had to chase for the V5 and also a replacement lock for the car we purchased as it was broken. Received an abusive text from the salesman (using the 'f' word). Now we are being accused of selling them a broken car - had they bothered to check when we traded in, the car was working perfectly. We travelled 4 hours to go to the garage....we wouldn't have risked that if the car had issues! The after sales is the worst I have ever experienced!

Karen Ritchie in response to Do not buy from here!
Thank you for taking the time to respond....albeit a tad tardy but you have responded so for that I am grateful. I have already given my word that my RCZ had no issues when I traded it in. As explained previously, we had a 4 hour drive to collect the new car so, had it been faulty at that time, we would not have attempted such a journey. Requesting the V5 is to allow me to put my cherished plates on. We are now 6 weeks down the line and still do not have it. I know of several people who have bought new cars during the pandemic, who have received their V5 within a week. Having paid for the new car, I would have expected it to follow as a matter of course. Yes, we did repeatedly call. We were simply seeking clarification that you had sent the relevant paperwork off to DVLA - which we still await confirmation of. Your salesman said the RCZ required a new timing chain (2 weeks after we traded it in. At this time it had already been sold to a new owner. What happened with the car between the time of trade in and pre-sale, only you have that information) however, you are now saying it required a new engine!!!!! I give you my assurance once again that I was not aware of any issue with the car at the time of trade in. We have not received the cheque you refer to......or an apology from George re the contents of his message. I look forward to receipt of both!
Boyd Craig from Formula One Car Centre Limited in response to Do not buy from here!
I apologise for the "tardiness" We have not recognised websites like this in the past due to them charging a premium for us to respond. However I felt compelled to respond to your review given the nature of the events. George did indeed apologise on the telephone to your husband. I was present when he did so and our telephone recordings can verify this if there is any dubiety. He was rather upset given the trust he had put in yourself and your husband regarding your part exchange and emotions got the better of him. I cannot accept your assurances that the vehicle you traded in was free of any mechanical defects; it is just not possible given the problems with it. The vehicle has not left our premises and if you are so sure it is a good vehicle you shall accept my offer to return and refund. I will confirm with the bank in the morning if the cheque has been cashed for the door lock repair on the Evoque and if not cancel it and issue another. Kind regards
Karen in response to Do not buy from here!
Yes, they did actually sent out a new 🔐 And gave us a cheque for the fitting cost at a local garage so they did honour their promise.. .but, it doesn't take away the way the salesman was swearing and rude in his texts.
If you're set on buying a car from here, get it independently inspected, be prepared for horrible after sales service, typical salesman tactics, and bad workmanship. I really should've trusted my gut and the advice of others but excitement (and dream spec m3) got the better of me. Car looked great, seemed well maintained etc. Really smooth and no hiccups during the test drive. However, literally the day I picked it up, I brought it to get petrol and dreaded throttle actuator problem arose. I got the car inspected at an independent specialist. (Found a few minor things apart from the actuators but overall solid car.) No bother I thought, this is why I bought a car from a garage. The reason I didn't buy private is so that if some issue were to arise with the car, the dealership would stand by it. I brought the car back to have the actuators done, all was well and good I thought. I even paid to get the other side done as preventive maintenance. I specifically asked to know how they were going to be fixed. (I was genuinely interested to know if the mechanic would rebuild them.) I was charged but no invoice of work was given. In the meantime, I also requested a sales invoice as I never received one upon collection. It took literally a month of calling up to get this. I was trying to get an aftermarket warranty for the car, but with no sales invoice I couldn't get one. The car lasted 3 months and same problem arose. This time I took it to a specialist who fitted rebuild.org actuators as well as other bits. Parts taken out were clearly from a breakers yard. They were even labelled "front" and "back" on the actuators (wtf) and the units never appeared to be opened. Clearly, this is why I wasn't told how they were fixed! I rang George, the salesman whom I bought the car from. I questioned him on the parts, and he insisted they were refurbished units. He says that he has had cars like this and has had to pay too. Questioned him about the work done and was basically told it's a common problem, tough! Refurb parts shouldn't fail in 3 months!!! Completely denied any liability or anything. Completely unwilling to help out. Surely if the work was legitimately carried out, I'd have a warranty with it. He even told me he'd get the invoice for me (still pending) Messages I sent were completely ignored throughout the process. I had to be very annoying to even get my sales invoice. Overall not worth the hassle. The whole ordeal really left a bitter taste in my mouth. Buy private or from a well-known garage. I'm sure this has been a similar experience for many others. AVOID!

Ellen Telf in response to Terrible workmanship& aftersales service
I totally agree, did the same and car needed £5k repair to gear box within days. Bunch of cowboys who contradicted each other and denied work needed done despite an independent test showing fault. Hope they get karma with the Coronavirus and end up worse off than all the people they have taken advantage of
Went to Formula 1 Camleon to look for replacement 4WD. Nothing suitable but salesman took us up to other garage to see a RAV '4WD '. Confirmed twice that it was 4WD which we needed. Interested in car and price so encouraged to put down ' reserve' of two hundred pound on 2nd Oct. and arranged a test drive. Took mechanic along with ourselves and only to discover that it was only a 2 WD. When we looked for answers from Grant he suddenly had a 'call ' that he needed to answer then off he went! 10 minutes later he was still absent. We went to his office but still continued on his call. He called 2 days later to ask if we were buying the car to which I said no.I asked for our money to be returned. We have called Formula 1 six times since then speaking to Grant and Paul. Tried to get owners name but not forthcoming. Getting the run around telling us it will be sorted that day also saying they have forgotten our name! Now today Grant says he sent us a cheque! Still no sign of it and not holding my breath! Feel that we are being punished for not buying a car! We are lucky that we can wait for Grant to take his time returning our money but I'm sure others will struggle. I cannot honestly recommend this company or salesman as we have spent a lot of wasted time and effort on pursuing Our money when we are struggling like many people to look after elderly relatives and provide reliable transport. Cannot comment on cars only poor service!

We tried getting the owners name too....and they won't give it out. I hope the owners take the time to read the reviews so they can see how their business is being run!

I can only apologise that your experience wasn't great. Grant is no longer with the company. We have implemented measures and staff training to better our customers experience. I can see from our records that you did receive your deposit refund.
