I purchased a Porsche Cayman in May from GC Motors. 4 days later I informed the dealer there was a knocking from the rear. I took it to porsche to investigate as there is warranty on the car remaining. This took some time so the 30 days passed I had to reject the car with little or no question ( consumer act replaced the sale of goods) Porsche confirmed that the car has been damaged and repaired underneath and porsche ask if I knew of the repair. I didn't. They went on say that the knocking may be related and that to investigate further I may be liable for the cost of that if it's deemed the repair and previous damage is the cause. I have viewed the car on the ramps where porsche showed me the extent of the repair. Its goes from the rear drivers wheel and follows the line upto the engine mounts round to the passenger side. I asked how can it have sustained this, They suggested that the car may have been in a accident. Porsche even said they couldn't tell me if it was safe to drive!! Gc motors have collected the car and to be fair they acted very promptly and also supplied me with a loan car. However, things turned nasty quickly, after a few rude and fairly aggressive phone calls they have said it's a scratch underneath. A scratch. From the wheel upto the engine and across? Hmm really? And all panels are ok and that porsche are happy with it. Ugh? The same porsche that said they didn't know if it was safe to drive? Gc even said I wanted to get out of the car so suggesting i was trying it on. I looked at changing it for an identical car. Only wanted a non faulty one. So now they just want to hand the car back. I'm taking legal advice as I love my car but I'm faced with a car that has taken a hit on it's value, I dont know it's safe to drive, and I've lost warranty on it. They did say they would get a full independent assessment the car, this now seems like another lie. Please avoid this dealer. Or get the car fully inspected and expect aggressive sales once you say your interested in the car, they did applogise for this but be warned. Please Read the reviews this isn't the first damaged repaired car they have sold.

Gc motors are trying to resolve my issue and provide proof that the car is ok and fit for purchase. Maybe all is not lost and have had a better experience today

I have still my warranty, I've had the car 8 months I've done around 4-5000 miles in the car and had to pay out over £300 for new tyres tracking and balancing and now the car needs new breaks and discs, I've contacted gc motors on a number of occasions and emails for proof of tracking and balancing from gc motors from when they had the car serviced and absolutely nothing no communication at all from them, absolutely useless and arrogant the guy I had spoke to called Peter... I would not be using this garage in the future as I would of keep't with then, untill the on going issues and this has been going on for over 2 months now and no contact apart from my first call to them... GC Motors are a wolf in sheep's clothing......

Jack Hays in response to Breaks, wheels, tyres discs.

I would like the review I sent and you submitted cancelled please, as the problem has now been sorted out, i feel it definitely needs changing... hear is the story in full, well they say wear and tear, but once the car had been checked out by a independent garage on two occasions at my cost it was all down to the alloy on the drivers side been buckled, this was statted on the second cheek by a independent garage... refurbished wheels they had done was absolutely shoddy... I've had to pay to have the issue's fixed as Gc motors where not telephoning me back now over 6 week's after my second complaint the after sales man was useless and never telephoned once On my second issues, yes I did have 2 issues, Don't know why his attitude was this way, I would never have a person working for me with his customer skills... what customers skills...! and still never recived the paper work I wanted about the car nor a email.. paid for a extended 12 month warranty and it was just wear and tear that's all I got from the telephone conconversation on the first issue. They did offer me a free service but it would of cost me more to travel down to them and back than it would of to take my car to mercedes for a Good quality srevice in my local area this was my first issue... the conversation with the after sales man..!! Not very helpful...on the 2nd issue, don't know what they have to say about the second issue...,?? As they have never called me back or a email, I don't know why they didn't say we will come out and have a look at it or we will come and take it away to be looked at, two new front tyres tracking and balancing and a new front passengers side wheel fixed due to it been buckled.... I paid over £20.000 for the car, with a extended warranty the car had only done over 23000 miles when I bought the car and had only done 4000 miles in the car... i thought they had more pride than they showed, it certainly lets them down in the after sales department.... still waiting for a reply/telephone call on the second issue the buckled wheel and shoddy referb on the alloys....

GC Motors are a truly professional company. I had an amazing experience with them, from beginning to end. Their showroom is immaculate as is the service department. I bought a 2017 Porche Macan which I'm extremely happy with. The service I received was first class and I'm delighted with my new car. I would definitely use them again.

I just want to thank Amari and his team who recently purchased my Aston Martin Vanquish. I purchased the Aston Martin (AM) from new 3 years ago from GC Motors. AM fully serviced the vehicle and I maintained and kept the vehicle in excellent condition. Having never sold to a Dealer previously this was a new experience for me. Unfortunately my initial experience was somewhat dreadful to say the least however Amari has restored my faith and confidence in the Supercar dealership market. In summary, I was initially referred to GC Motors (Harrogate). This business a rogue dealership. DO NOT USE. GC had an accurate, honest appraisal of my car including videos, pictures service history etc. After a period of negotiation we agreed a price and one of their Drivers came to collect myself and the vehicle to complete the sale. When I arrived in Harrogate (2 hours from my home residence) GC Motors inspected the car and attempted to reduce and manipulate our agreed price substantially down (£5k) with no justification. GC's buyer was in dialogue with their owner over the phone in Jersey and he was being dishonest. They left me with a take or leave it offer £5k (under agreed price). Obviously, I was shocked and disgusted with their offer and requested as promised to be returned home immediately with the vehicle on on the truck that collected me. To my disgust; they explained their Driver had driven too many miles that day and couldn't take me home as promised. Eventually, 2 hours later they agreed and returned me with the vehicle. A complete waste of a day. These cheap sales tactics do nothing but infuriate genuine customers and I hope anyone reviewing this article avoid GC Motors at all costs. On returning I contacted 3 more dealers with a view to sale. Even though I was offered a higher price for my AM I chose to agree a sale with Amari. This decision was absolutely the right one. Amari appeared the most genuine from all the dealers I spoke with and honesty and integrity means everything to me in business. It took us 48 hours to complete the transaction from our initial phone call. That's how to treat a client!!! He listened, understood and delivered on his promises and the car was sold swiftly with no fuss. He will now have a loyal customer for life. Well done to Amari and his team! Whoever buys the AM will be getting a cracking motor. Hope you found this useful.

Paul Gater from GC Motors in response to AWFUL - DO NOT TOUCH.

Dear Mark Many thanks for your recent review, I’m very disappointed by its content and have investigated thoroughly and can now reply to your review with the following information. You described the car to us initially as having a small scuff in the front carbon splitter, but upon investigation it was found to be holed and unrepairable, there was a big crack in the rear carbon diffuser and that one of the rear discs which are carbon was discoloured ( which shows overheating), you even admitted that the cost of a new carbon splitter was £5k alone from Aston Martin, furthermore, we picked the car up on a transporter and delivered it back to you at our expense, this hardly demonstrates someone wasting your time. I am also told that you agreed to a contribution of £4k as you accepted the car was not as described ? ( you don’t mention this in your review, why not ? ) Whilst I cannot comment on Amaris preparation standards or the condition of their cars, I can state that we are proud of the standards we prepare our cars to both mechanically and cosmetically, occasionally, we get things wrong but after reviewing all of the facts, I believe your review to be inaccurate and a little shy of the true facts and perhaps need revising to reflect the true events. Finally, as we advertise our cars our cars to be the best priced for mileage, age, specification, colour and condition we can ill afford a car where we have given the right money for it if it is not as described, I would imagine if we advertised your car and a potential customer came to view it and we haven’t rectified the faults we would be reviewed poorly for the poor cars we sell, I would rather someone review us for being strict on what we accept rather than the poor cars that we sell and how badly they are prepared…..we`ll leave that to other retailers. Kind regards Paul Gater Operations Director

Great High Quality cars. Sales aren’t too pushy and can’t do enough to accommodate you and make you feel welcome. Brilliant communication throughout the whole process with regular updates. Picking up me new car was brilliant, GC Motors we’re ready for me at a allotted time slot. Signed paperwork and off I went. I would personally like to thank Mike Bennet and Neely for everything they did to ensure everything went smoothly, We had a few slight issues which got resolved quickly and efficiently. This is the 4th car I’ve purchased from GC Motors and I can assure you I’ll be a returning customer once again. Liam

I have to admit that the buying experience was initially good until something actually went wrong. I guess positive rating is only meaningful if the dealership actually addressed to buyer issue to his/her satisfaction. Long story short, I had to reject a car I bought (part exchange mine - same make and model but one year older and less carbon compared to the one I bought). I was silly or naive( whatever you would call it), as I bought the car based on the salesman’s descriptions of the car (live in London - just not worth travelling up to view) because of all the positive reviews, thinking they were trustworthy. Anyway, took the car to my detailer on the 6th day and found significant repair works had been carried out, driver side door, near quarter and possibly boot all had been painted, with evidence of fillers used and sanding marks shown under the special lights used by my detailer. I don’t know how else to describe these as significant, when the thickness of the paint on one side is more than doubled of the other, and you can actually see the botched repair under the light. So, I drove the car back to the dealership this morning, left at 6:30 and arrived after 11:00am. Waited until 4pm, not ideal but at least was expecting all things to be sorted, and believe it or not, the operations director demanded that I signed a document to state that I was happy to pay them £2k for the lost they have incurred. Just wait a minute here, I was the one who had been mis-sold the car (with emails showing false information provided by the salesperson), inseam, they argue that I should pay them 2K because my car traded in had also some paint jobs done (although all cosmetic) Not wanting to sign away my 2K and somehow implied that I was at fault for returning a car that was mis-sold to me, I was forced to leave with no car and no refund, and have to try and resolve this through legal actions. Well, I am not sure which bit of my experience is “treating customers fairly” - a moto of GC motors. After this experience, I will not go anywhere near them, no matter how appealing the car (or the price) is!

Staff from GC Motors in response to Stay away

Mr lay I have had discussions with all staff involved and unfortunately cannot accept your rejection. The sales executive acted to the best of his knowledge. We have inspected the car we sold you and agree that it has had some MINOR cosmetic repairs none that lead us to believe it had been in an accident just general up keep on a 4-5 year old car. We have inspected the car you swopped in that you claimed to us had not been involved in any cosmetic repairs/accidents and are totally shocked to find it has had a vast amounts of paintwork. To this end I cannot understand what you are complaining about as our car is far more superior in condition to the one you sold us telling us it was immaculate telling us you had spent vast sums on it’s up keep. The car you purchased now has another owner, covered more miles, we have mot’d your car which you were driving illegally on the road, we have spent time swopping carbon parts from car to car at your request and now you want a full refund. If this is your only stance I’m afraid you will have to take this through the legal channels. We are always here to try and resolve issues amicably but when someone is being unreasonable sometimes that can’t happen.

I found g c motors an absolute pleasure to deal with.i was asked to describe my px vehicle to them over the phone as accurately as possible, then they offered me a great price against a Mercedes they had in stock. The overall experience was very satisfactory. This was the first time I have dealt with g c motors and from the professionalism of the sales team I wouldn’t hesitate to go back again
