Gary was very friendly and guided me through the whole process in a very professional manner and was available to answer any questions straight away. I wanted to drive away the car on the day following my trade in. Gary was very patient and helpful throughout the process. A good person with integrity. However... Utterly incompetent and penny pinching. I travelled to Harrogate with my car with the intention of selling it and buying a specific car they had. Gary handled the transaction. It took a couple of hours to sort everything out but it was worth it because I left with a new car and GC Motors had all they needed to process the balance payment to me for next day clearance. However, when I got home and wanted to charge the car, the advertised “7 metre cable with 3 pin plug” was missing. I do not intend to install a charge point and therefore was unable to charge the car. I rang and pointed this out. Once again Gary was very helpful, but GC tried to wriggle out of their responsibility: Anticipating this and although the ad had been removed from GC's website, I was able to find three other sites still carrying the details and specifically mentioning the required cable. Astonishingly GC first tried to hide behind a footnote saying that the details may vary. That made me very angry. They then said they would buy an adaptor for the car's double ended charging cable. I said this was unacceptable because it was electrically unsafe and the cable is only 4.5 meters long. I need 7 metres. Eventually I said “I cannot believe you are prepared to trash the GC brand by trying to avoid responsibility for something that was advertised as part of the car's specification.” GC Motors evetually, after 3 hours of trying agreed to buy the cable that should have been provided with the car. Unbelievable. It was delivered personally. But what happened next is the final straw and, despite happily having had four previous transactions with GCM (which is why I returned this time), I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CAR FROM. What happened? On 17 August, THREE DAYS after the sale, I missed a call from GCM, but no message was left. Today, 18 August, I checked to see that the £45,000 had been paid into my account on 15 August. It had not. I rang to be told that they had tried to call me the day before (when I was out all day and they had left no message), to say the payment had been delayed. The reason they gave was that they needed to confirm my bank details. These were the details I had given in person, producing my bank card on 14 August at the tiome of the sale. This card was taken away to convey the bank details, but despite this GCM said they had not recorded these and needed phone confirmation. To repeat. I will never deal with GC Motors again.

Thanks for your review. The footnote is to cover us from the automatic spec that Autotrader adds to our adverts when they are listed. This spec is then fed through to all the other websites. The cable was not added by us, it was added by Autotrader. You personally collected the car, checked it off and signed to say you were happy. You requested a longer cable which we agreed to after some phone calls to and fro, which was then delivered to your house personally. With regards the money, it is standard practice before Accounts pay money, especially this amount, to confirm the details we have are correct with the beneficiary. Sorry you are not happy, but I think your review is way over the top as you have everything you want, especially after the last 4 cars clearly went really well. We are not perfect but we try hard. From the moment I inquired the customer care I received from Lee was 5 star. Really took the time to help with questions I had and got me the best deal possible. Lee was brilliant throughout and a big thanks to Bailey who done the handover of my new vehicle. I absolutely love my new car!

From the first phone call with GARETH, to collection and handover with Gary the experience was first class.
