Dealt with Gary at Geyfords on Stafford Road over several phone calls and all seemed positive and helpful. Booked a Test Drive for a Peugeot 208 on behalf of my daughter, took the morning off work and drove up from Broadstairs, Kent (160 Mile Round Trip). Looked over the car and found a few minor issues... Stone chip in windscreen that had not been dealt with, parking scuffs to one alloy wheel & a couple of areas of damage to the nearside rear door window rubber seal. Some negotiations were had over price and the work i had highlighted and we agreed on a potential final price. I was then asked do we have a commitment to buy and i said no not until we have had a test drive. I also explained that i do have a another car that we are looking at nearby. I asked was there a problem with having a test drive and he said that there will not be a problem with a car that only had 15,000 Miles on the clock & that as he was the only one in the showroom he could miss out on a sale so he suggested that we go and look at the other car first !!! Geyfords - I certainly would not have taken time off work and driven 160 Miles to be a time waster - Totally Bizare !!! Still daughter happy with the one we bought from Robins & Day.

Have just brought a 2nd hand car from Geyfords Stafford Road branch. The minute i walked in Gary was very helpful explained about the car Gary was there again helpful with the hand over i can not fault the service.
We bought a second hand Kia Rio from Geyfords. on Stafford Road The staff could not have been more helpful and they sorted out any little niggles prior to delivery and even brought the car to our door. Great work guys!

I bought a nice clean car from Geyfords on Stafford Road but was put off initially as the process is rather tortuous and the rules of purchase seem inflexible. At the end of it I did get a good car competitively priced. The handover was well executed. The dealership expects customers to test drive the car they want at an authorised dealer first so that driving the car at Geyfords is a formality rather than a test drive. All cars are sold with a 12 month platinum RAC warranty which is £497 and payment is only by online transfer or cash if not on finance. I suppose this makes sense as it's a small dealership. I bought a Skoda Roomster there this week.

I have purchased a number of cars from Geyfords since 1975 up to my latest purchase of January 2017 (my tenth Nissan). All Nissans (formerly Datsuns), some new some second hand, they have given me excellent service over many years. I have also purchased some cars, also Nissans, from other dealers, and found Geyfords to compare quite favourably with them. The latest acquisition is all but new and at a good price and the sales service form Gary Hughes was first class. However, being an experienced Nissan driver I knew what I was buying and didn't need a test drive. Should I have wanted one it might have proved a problem and I think anyone paying substantial sums for a car should be able to test it adequately, however inconvenient it may be to extricate it from the showroom. I used to have my cars serviced at Geyfords but they apply the Nissan service pricing policy and that is not cheap. An alternative garage, provided it is of proven quality, might well save quite a bit of money but must fit the manufacturer's parts whilst the car remains under warranty. After that the servicing is likely to become even cheaper. There is no doubt that Geyfords sell good cars.
Just had a 3 hour round trip to buy a £30k car and on arrival I was told I couldn't test drive it until I have paid for it! Despite speaking with Gary 3 times this week, not once did he tell me this before I arrived. I escalated to the Manager (over the phone) and he just said "no we don't allow people to test drive our cars". Do not bother. I will end up paying more money, but they aren't getting a penny from me! Avoid Geyfords Stafford Road at all costs!

Dear Paul Blackheath, As you correctly state you may well have to pay more for this car at another dealership because our cars are extremely competitively priced. If we had known that a test drive was your first priority then we would have made you aware that sometimes this is not possible on the same day. Our recommendation would be that franchise dealers are in a far better position to provide demonstrator models and extensive product info. Once you have this, you can search for a car from an independent dealer like Geyfords who offer quality cars at a very competitive prices. There are various aspects to buying a car that need to be considered before a test drive. For example the price of the car, a part exchange valuation and whether funding will be required. One of our managers who wasn’t on site attempted to explain this to you on the phone, but before they could finish you hung up. We would like to reiterate that once you had selected a car that you wished to buy then a test drive could have been arranged. Unfortunately we weren’t able to do it on that day for you.
Staff at Geyfords were very helpful and I am delighted with the Mercedes I have recently purchased. This is the second car I have bought at Geyfords and I have always found everyone I have had dealings with knowledgeable and professional.
Bought Toyota Corolla from Geyfords, Wallington. Paul who sold me the car only gave me a 5 minutes test drive, even in which I found there was a fault with the CV Joint. I was tricked and lied that the problem will be sorted within first week of the buy, because I will be sold 6 months insurance of technical cover. After I bought the car I called them up only to told that I would be charged for the CV joints, and was told that these problems are normal as mine was the ten month old car. Car was overpriced when sold but I didnt mind as I liked the car, but only later found the marks and scratches on the body work were hidden under the T Cut polish, as they started to appear after the first rain. This dealer is a rip off, be very careful.
